Obsessed with a High-Ranking Esper (BL)-Chapter 303: Compensate Yu Xi
Xiaobao leaned forward, her eyes sparkling. "Come on, I have been your biggest support for years. At least tell me the details."
Jian Ci, sipping his coffee that was more syrup than coffee, paused mid-drink. "Wait—you knew?"
Xiaobao gave him a look that screamed of course. "He’s my brother after all."
Jian Ci blinked, incredulous. "You knew that Little Xi liked me?"
Xiaobao shook her head firmly, wagging her finger. "No, no, no. Loved you. Not liked you."
Yu Xi kept eating, his chopsticks moving with deliberate calm, as though the conversation was happening in another room.
Jian Ci stared at him, his voice soft with disbelief. "Turns out I am the last to know." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Xiaobao huffed. "Why do you think I was so annoyed every time you had your mental collapse? My brother would guide you, and the next day you would be running around with Alarna. Ugh, I wanted to bash that bitch’s skull in."
Yu Xi’s voice cut through, sharp but quiet. "Stop talking and eat."
Jian Ci looked at him, guilt and sadness clouding his eyes. Yu Xi sighed, his tone weary. "It’s in the past. Let it go."
But Xiaobao wasn’t letting it go. She swallowed her food and leaned forward. "No. You have to compensate my brother."
Jian Ci’s hand reached over, finding Yu Xi’s and holding it firmly. "How to compensate?"
Yu Xi shot Xiaobao a warning look. "Don’t make trouble."
"I am not," Xiaobao said, her voice firm. "I am just fighting for my brother."
Jian Ci’s gaze softened, but he pressed again. "How to compensate?"
Xiaobao’s grin widened. "See? He wants to."
Yu Xi glared at her, but Xiaobao didn’t flinch. "You should marry him," she said brightly.
Yu Xi’s voice rose, sharp. "Xiaobao."
But Xiaobao pressed on, her smile mischievous. "You two have practically been together for years at this point, so why not?"
Yu Xi started, "Stay ou—"
But Jian Ci cut him off, his voice steady, resolute. "Done. I want to marry him."
The words hung in the air, heavy and electrifying. Yu Xi met his gaze, startled, his chopsticks frozen mid-air. Jian Ci looked back at him, unwavering, their eyes locked in an intense exchange that made the room feel smaller, the air thicker. Xiaobao’s grin was so wide it looked like her face might split.
Yu Xi felt his heart beating fast in his chest as he stared into Jian Ci’s intense, sincere eyes.
"I will marry you in front of the entire world," Jian Ci said, his voice steady, "as long as you will have me."
Yu Xi’s gaze faltered. He looked away, his voice quiet. "Let’s eat first."
Jian Ci bit his lower lip, anxiety flickering across his face. Was Yu Xi rejecting him?
Xiaobao, however, was rather happy with this result. She wanted Yu Xi to be happy, and she would make sure of it, no matter how long it took.
After breakfast, Xiaobao sat in the lounge, tapping away on her communicator, while Jian Ci stood in the kitchen washing dishes. Yu Xi leaned against the counter, watching him silently.
Jian Ci glanced over his shoulder. "Do you want to go out today, or should we spend the day at home?"
Yu Xi didn’t answer the question. Instead, his voice was low and deliberate as he said, "You don’t have to do that, you know."
Jian Ci frowned. "Do what?"
Yu Xi’s eyes flickered. "Marry me."
Jian Ci froze, then slowly wiped the water from his hands. His aura shifted. It was domineering, enticing and magnetic. He walked toward Yu Xi, pressing his palm against the countertop, blocking his escape.
His hand rose to cup Yu Xi’s neck, his touch firm yet tender. "Little Xi," Jian Ci said, his voice hushed but resolute, "I might not have made myself clear before... so let me make myself even more clear."
Yu Xi met his gaze, his ears burning, his breath uneven.
"I love you with every fibre of my being," Jian Ci continued, his fingers caressing Yu Xi’s neck and threading through his hair. "I know it sounds abrupt, considering I only told you my feelings last night. But I have loved you for far longer than it seems. I was just too stupid to realize it."
His voice grew heavier and more vulnerable. "I didn’t want other espers to get close to you, which was why I blatantly expressed my dislike for esper-to-esper relationships. At the time, I didn’t know why. I used that excuse, but the truth was... I couldn’t stand the thought of anyone else near you. I couldn’t sleep without crawling into your bed, and you let me. I wanted to be the closest person to you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Jian Ci pressed their foreheads together, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I hope you can give me the chance to be beside you for the rest of our lives."
Yu Xi felt an intense warmth spread from his heart to his entire soul. Three days ago, if someone had told him Jian Ci would confess his love and vow to spend their lives together, he would have laughed and called them ridiculous. Yet here he was, standing in the kitchen, Jian Ci professing his love with a sincerity that shook him to his core.
Yu Xi’s voice was quiet, but firm. "We can talk about it once we have dealt with your father."
A soft smile touched Jian Ci’s lips. That was an answer. Not the one he had ached for, not a yes that would seal their future, but a promise of a future nonetheless. One he could, for now, accept.
He leaned in, closing the small distance, and brushed his lips against Yu Xi’s in a kiss that was meant to be gentle and fleeting.
But Yu Xi wouldn’t let him go. As Jian Ci began to pull back, a strong hand shot out and grabbed the back of his neck, holding him in place.
A low, possessive growl vibrated from Yu Xi’s throat into Jian Ci’s mouth. The hand on his neck slid down to the small of his back, then around to clutch at his waist, pulling him flush against a hard, familiar body. The fleeting kiss was swallowed whole, transformed into something deep and possessive.
Yu Xi’s tongue swept against the seam of his lips, and Jian Ci opened for him with a shuddering sigh. You would think, Jian Ci thought dizzily as Yu Xi plundered his mouth, after a night and a morning of locking lips and fucking, he would have had enough.
But the desperate, hungry press of Yu Xi’s body against his told a different story. He hadn’t had enough. He was thirsty, addicted, and his yearning was a bottomless pit.
The sound was obscene in the quiet kitchen. The wet, slick smack of their lips parting and meeting, the deep, ragged groans that neither could swallow. Jian Ci’s hands came up, one tangling in the silken hair at Yu Xi’s nape, the other cupping the strong line of his jaw, holding him as close as physically possible.
He could feel the hard ridge of Yu Xi’s erection already straining against his own, a relentless demand through the layers of their clothes. Heat pooled low in Jian Ci’s belly, a liquid fire that spread with every stroke of Yu Xi’s tongue.
