Otherworldly Affairs Office-Chapter 695: Strange Changes (Requesting Subscription)
The ones shouting reminders were an elder among the cultivators in midair and Pei Yan outside the courtyard. Being a guest in someone else's territory and temporarily belonging to the same camp, he was in a better position than others to rescue. He turned into a stream of light and rushed up.
At this moment, Tao Yuanweng, who had already stepped into the edge of the deep pit, had become obstinate and ignored others' advice, determined to put Suhabaru to death. However, he neglected to detect the changes in the source energy within the opponent. Just as he stepped to the pit's edge to throw out a talisman, the charred object suddenly cracked open on its surface, and a black light rushed towards Tao Yuanweng under the moonlit sky. The sudden change startled Tao Yuanweng, causing a delay in tossing the talisman, watching helplessly as the black light charged in front of him with claws about to slice his belly from below.
At this critical moment, Pei Yan happened to arrive, ignoring Tao Yuanweng's dignity, grabbing his back collar and flinging him backward, while another hand turned fist into palm meeting the attacking claws. Both figures jumped back, each retreating over ten steps, and leapt out from the pit.
All this happened in the blink of an eye. When the embarrassed Tao Yuanweng trembled up from the ground, glanced at his robe with several large openings clawed open, a cold sweat emerged feeling the post-fear, knowing that if not for Pei Yan's rescue, the damage wouldn't be merely to his clothes. Though this external injury might not take his life, recuperating for months with significant energy loss would be inevitable.
"Th-th-thank you, Pei Xiaoyou, for your great kindness in saving me, I, Tao…"
Before the bashful Tao Yuanweng could finish bowing, Pei Yan interrupted, "Elder! This is not the time for pleasantries. We should focus on the enemy!"
Stunned by this cue, Tao Yuanweng hurriedly stopped and looked towards the field, startled by what he saw. On the other side of the deep pit stood a pitch-black skeleton, which wasn't entirely accurate because vital body parts like the heart and skull were still protected with charred flesh, while the rest had turned into black as ink bones. This skeleton almost took his life.
While the two discussed, the skeleton underwent massive changes, with remaining flesh serving as the center, blood threads extended inwardly. As the skeleton swayed, charred black ash peeled away revealing white skeletal remains inside. Then under everyone's gaze, it, at a visibly rapid pace, restored meridians and muscles, and soon even the skin began regenerating.
"Revive from the dead, grow new flesh! This is supreme immortal technique! How can he possibly know!" Utterly shocked, Tao Yuanweng's eyes widened in disbelief.
Pei Yan shook and smiled wryly, "Elder, I don't know what supreme immortal technique you refer to, but I think his situation might be different from what you're talking about."
Immortal technique? Pei Yan doubted that Suhabaru could access and master such a profound ability. As suspected, he, like his disciple, underwent some strange modification from Divine Desire. This ability starkly contrasted against Bals, incomparable on the same plane.
Seemingly confirming Pei Yan's suspicions, the fully restored Suhabaru continued to change, sprouting wolf fur turning into a werewolf form, but he wasn't finished yet, his body kept altering. Muscle swelled, outer hard fur fused together turning into scales, not only that, after he howled skyward, a pair of horns protruded from his peculiar wolf head.
What was before them was enough to shock all present, but Suhabaru's performance wasn't over yet. After the horns grew, his limbs changed again from wolf claws into more formidable dragon claws, and as this transformation occurred, a dragon tail broke out from his spine, forming and swung back and forth stirring gusts. Any casual brush against the ground smashed the green brick stone into dust.
"What on earth is this creature!" Pei Yan's words echoed everyone's thoughts. A werewolf from the Magic Realm, a demon race body from the Hell Plane, mixed with Dragon Race blood from the Spirit Monster Plane. As Pei Yan sighed with relief thinking the Daoist Realm wasn't involved, a startled cry rang from above, "Look at the marks inscribed inside his scales, isn't that the Body Refining Array from our Daoist Realm!"
Great! All four realms united!
"You and your disciple are all modified superhumans? What exactly did Divine Desire do to you? What's your original ability? Don't tell me all abilities come from the modifications!" He deeply inhaled, adjusting his mindset before inquiring.
Already transformed like an alien, Suhabaru seemed unaccustomed to his new body, stretching his bones and responding, "You want to know my ability? I'll tell you! My ability is hormones! Including adrenaline that triggers human limits. I can activate various hormones within speeding my recovery, even growth and other modifications reaching heights unattainable to normal people." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"Hormones? I remember your disciple had this ability too! Did you simultaneously awaken the same ability!" Hearing this, Pei Yan recalled past events in amazement.
Massaging his shoulder, Suhabaru sneered coldly, "My disciple? Bals was just a replica of my abilities, like Mu you defeated, who merely was a copy of Mu Fanchen's abilities. Of course, such replication has limits, capable of exhibiting six-tenths of the actual prowess is already rare."
"What did you say! You can copy your ability to another person!" Pei Yan's jaw dropped in astonishment, looking back at his companions. Even Gu Shenghui showed unprecedented shock on his face.
"Haha!" Suhabaru laughed coldly with disdain, "That's why I said you know nothing of the enemies you're about to face. After winning a few victories, you think you've claimed battlefield dominance, not knowing a real crisis looms over you, catastrophe imminent yet clueless! Yes, with so many opponents here, escaping alive today might be difficult, but killing me won't be easy either. Those considering action should weigh their worth first, like that boasting old drunkard, refrain from further disgrace!"
