Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 120 - 122: Forced to Cohabit (Sixty-Five)
An indisputable tone, utterly domineering.
As he stepped into the house, Ji Anning’s instinct was to follow, "Uncle."
After calling out to Ji Chicheng, she thought about the topic they might be discussing next and went back to close the door.
"Do you find the title ’Uncle’ very intimate?"
Ji Chicheng suddenly turned around, looked at Ji Anning, and raised an eyebrow at her.
Ji Anning felt guilty, her eyes flickering as she quickly looked away, nervously wondering if he had noticed something. Had he detected her shameful thoughts?
Otherwise, why would he suddenly ask her that?
As she was anxiously guessing, the man’s voice, tinged with amusement, came from above, "Otherwise, why would you keep calling me that?"
Ji Anning looked up at him with a puzzled expression, not understanding the handsome man before her.
Did he hear her conversation with Bai Guo? Had he noticed her secret thoughts?
If he had, could he just end this quickly? Otherwise, she would be scared to death by him even before her grandfather could kick her out of the Ji family.
Ji Chicheng observed Ji Anning’s forehead, dotted with sweat, then glanced at her high-necked shirt as a hint of a smile spread in his dark eyes.
His voice became much gentler, "If you don’t know how to make it, I can teach you now."
As he spoke, he turned and walked towards the open-plan kitchen.
Ji Anning, upon hearing this, frowned and followed, "If you know how to cook, why do you make me cook?"
She felt Ji Chicheng probably hadn’t heard her conversation with Bai Guo; otherwise, knowing she had cuckolded his nephew, how could he be so calm?
So she grew a bit bolder.
"Do you think I would cook coffee for others?"
Ji Chicheng suddenly stopped, turned around, and raised an eyebrow at Ji Anning.
Ji Anning: "..."
He actually made her speechless with his haughty attitude.
Indeed, who else could have the privilege of drinking coffee personally made by Mr. Ji? That would be a stroke of ancestral fortune.
For someone as self-centered and domineering as he was, with such high taste, it wasn’t surprising that he would learn to make coffee for himself.
So, there was no need for her to ask why he would still learn to make coffee.
Thinking this, Ji Anning nodded, "Alright."
"The coffee beans are here." Ji Chicheng took a box of coffee beans out of the cupboard; the coffee machine was already on the stove. As he fiddled with the beans, he said to Ji Anning, "I’ll make it once; you watch, and then you’ll do it once."
Having the patience to demonstrate once, yet not willing to make an extra cup for a guest, she was really astonished.
Despite feeling speechless, Ji Anning still nodded and moved closer to Mr. Ji, intently watching his beautiful hands with an eager-to-learn attitude.
The process, from grinding the coffee to brewing it, took about thirty to forty minutes. Ji Chicheng didn’t speak a word throughout, offered no explanations, and relied entirely on Ji Anning’s careful observation.
When the coffee machine signaled completion, Ji Chicheng calmly took two white porcelain cups and began pouring the coffee, filling each cup to about three quarters.
Then he lifted one cup and handed it to Ji Anning, "Try it."
Ji Anning didn’t think much, fully intent on trying out Ji Chicheng’s handiwork. She took the coffee, brought it to her nose, and inhaled the delightful aroma, then eagerly took a small sip.
Because it had no sugar, it was so bitter she immediately frowned.
"You can add two spoons of sugar."
