Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 206 - 200: Still Lost in the End (Part 2)
"You’ve always been cautious, seemingly flawless in your defense, yet you don’t know how to attack,"
It’s not that she didn’t want to try, not that she didn’t want to move forward, heaven knows how much she wanted to nestle into his embrace, to experience the feeling of acting coy with him, to smell his subtle and elegant fragrance.
As Ji Anning thought this, she imagined that feeling, like being bathed in spring breeze, and her heart started to flutter with turmoil.
The whooshing cool breeze blew past, sweeping over her body, her plump cheeks reflecting the sunset’s glow, a faint blush revealing her shy thoughts.
’Beep.’
Suddenly, a shrill car horn sounded from her left, startling her, and she forgot to react.
Her face filled with fright as she watched the car approaching her.
"What are you daydreaming about?" Jin Yuanyuan quickly reached out, pulling Ji Anning back to safety, equally frightened, she smacked Ji Anning’s shoulder hard.
Ji Anning came to her senses and realized they had reached another traffic light, and they were still in the middle of the road.
The green light had just turned red, and they hadn’t managed to cross.
Ji Anning looked around, cars coming and going, her heart still beating violently, a long while before it could calm down.
"What were you thinking just now?" Jin Yuanyuan, still shaken, frowned and asked Ji Anning.
Ji Anning lowered her head and gently shook it, "Nothing."
Jin Yuanyuan glanced at her and scoffed coldly, "Ji Anning, admit it, just now you were definitely thinking of your crush."
Her tone was certain, Ji Anning pouted and didn’t deny it.
She was thinking about him, his smile, his indifference, his white shirt, and the light scent of his cologne.
But Ji Anning, how could you think such things? How could your heart waver? He’s about to be your friend’s fiancé.
Ji Anning hung her head in self-reproach, Jin Yuanyuan looked at her, thinking she was being shy, "Think if you want to think, what’s there to be embarrassed about? I’m not going to write and joke about you. I think about him every day, during and after class, I even have several of his photos tucked in my book, and his photo as my phone screen wallpaper."
As she spoke, she even lifted her phone, turning on the screen to show Ji Anning.
The screen displayed the profile of a man in a police officer’s uniform, his physique broad and tall, his face not visible.
"Green light."
Ji Anning still wanted to take a closer look, exactly what kind of police officer had Jin Yuanyuan so infatuated, thinking about him even during and after class, even tucking several of his photos in her book.
Suddenly, Jin Yuanyuan grasped her arm and started walking.
While walking, she scolded her, "It’s fine to think about men, but don’t do it in the middle of the road, don’t you value your life?"
Ji Anning was speechless.
Was she so obviously daydreaming about a man?
Alright... She indeed was thinking about matters related to him. From now on, she would stop, no more thoughts.
Jin Yuanyuan looked around, searching for something, Ji Anning knew who she was looking for by her manner and frowned at her, "Jin Yuanyuan, didn’t you say once we reached this traffic light we would see your crush?"
"Wait a moment, I’ll call him," Jin Yuanyuan said as she pulled out her phone to dial.
Ji Anning looked around, a police motorcycle with flashing lights had stopped a white sports car, probably because the sports car had committed a violation.
She took a glance, then pointed and asked Jin Yuanyuan, "Over there, is that a police officer?"
"Where?" Jin Yuanyuan followed the direction Ji Anning was pointing, saw the officer getting off the motorcycle, her eyes lit up and she nodded excitedly, "Yes, yes, that’s him."
