Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 935: Encountering a Rival in Love (Part 8)
Mrs. Xiang thought for a moment, took out her phone from her bag, entered a familiar number, and called, holding the phone close to her ear.
"Do you know anything about the girl who stayed in your son’s dorm room last night?"
"I saw her, she looks fine, quite lively, a good complement to your son..."
"Hmm..."
...
Many journalists camped outside the hospital’s inpatient department for an entire day, even at night, there were people taking turns for shifts.
Ji Anning hadn’t left the room for a day and a night.
She only fell asleep late at night, and when she woke up, the space beside her was still empty, and the familiar tall figure was absent from the sofa.
The sky outside had just brightened, with a sliver of dawn light seeping through the curtain seams.
The little girl beside her was still asleep.
She lifted the blanket, quietly got out of bed, opened the nightstand drawer, took out her phone, and walked towards the window as she turned it on.
"Morning, my love."
The four words that appeared as she lit up the screen made Ji Anning’s nose tingle with emotion and blush slightly.
She replied with a silly smile, "Morning, my dear uncle."
Ji Chicheng did not reply to her again.
She walked to the window, reached out to part the curtain a bit, and looked down to see reporters still waiting below.
Ah, when will there be peace?
’Knock, knock, knock’
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
Who could it be so early?
With curiosity, Ji Anning walked to the door and opened it.
"Miss Anning, the Second Madam, she..."
It was Aunt Zhang, who looked after Yang Yufang. She seemed to have run here, panting and speaking intermittently.
She seemed quite anxious, what happened?
Ji Anning was also drawn into her nervous state, "What’s wrong?"
Aunt Zhang said, "Downstairs, there are all journalists. The Second Madam was concerned about what you and Fenfen would eat, so she dragged me to go downstairs to buy breakfast for you, but the journalists recognized her. Now, the Second Madam is surrounded by a group of journalists, and more and more onlookers are gathering. The hospital only dispatched two security guards, and they can’t manage the situation at all."
Hearing this, Ji Anning couldn’t help but be moved for a moment, then clenched her fists and coldly asked, "What does that have to do with me?"
Surprised by Ji Anning’s reaction, Aunt Zhang nodded in disappointment, "I... I understand. I’ll try another way."
With that, she quickly turned around and hurried out of Ji Anning’s sight.
Ji Anning turned back into the room, closed the door, and slowly walked towards the window. Pulling the curtain open, she looked down again, and the few suspected reporters she had seen earlier were gone, while more people were running to the right.
That’s the direction of the hospital canteen, are they going to watch the commotion?
Unconsciously, Ji Anning’s hand tightened around the curtain.
"Miss Anning, you’re awake."
Suddenly, Aunt Wu’s voice came from behind.
She turned around to find Aunt Wu already behind her, she hadn’t noticed her coming in at all.
Aunt Wu smiled gently and explained, "I knocked softly on the door, no one responded, so I thought you weren’t awake yet." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Ji Anning faintly smiled back, distractedly responding to Aunt Wu, "It’s fine."
Aunt Wu said, "I’ll go get breakfast now. If you haven’t washed up yet, you should do so quickly."
Ji Anning nodded, "Okay."
She let go of the curtain, noticing that the section she had grabbed was crumpled.
Suddenly, Aunt Wu remembered something and reminded Ji Anning, "The Second Madam is surrounded by reporters downstairs. The hospital security is dispersing the crowd, so you shouldn’t go down right now."
