Peak Cultivator's Slice of Life-Chapter 17: You Are Monster
The curious Yi Mingxue peered into the red giant monster’s past.
As a Great Paragon, he was naturally able to do so.
That monster might symbolize disaster for this Great World but it was too weak for a Great Paragon.
Even a single gaze could already cause it to die as its cultivation was only that of a 3rd Stage Ancient Sage. Even a Great Sage was too weak for a Great Paragon, let alone just an Ancient Sage far below.
Of course, since it was at the 3rd Stage, it meant that the monster was stronger than most Ancient Sages in many Great Worlds.
When peeking into its past, Yi Mingxue quickly knew everything.
The monster had in fact once made a huge disaster in this world, destroying continents with every step it took.
It had killed countless Great Sovereigns, even two of the Ancient Sages died in its hands.
Despite having many Ancient Sages, this world was still helpless in front of that monster.
In the end, the strongest Ancient Sage who controlled seven Daos at once to the Ancient Sage level sacrificed himself to seal the monster.
Only after that, the monster was successfully subdued.
That was hundreds of millions of years ago and most people had already forgotten about the monster except for those who had lived a long time ago.
"Let’s go below," Asher said to Yi Mingxue.
He took a step, instantly appearing in front of the monster, followed by Yi Mingxue.
The red giant monster that had just roared was stunned as two humans appeared in front of it.
It had been hundreds of millions of years, but no one had ever come because the dimension where it was sealed was also tightly locked, unable to be entered even by Ancient Sages.
"Who are you?"
"Who are you?"
The monster asked but it wasn’t just the monster that asked. There was another voice that appeared and also asked.
Asher looked to the side, finding a figure of light appearing.
He was an old man with long white hair that gave the impression of someone very ancient, wearing a pure white robe and carrying a wooden staff.
His eyes seemed to emit the seven great paths that resonated with each other, producing even more powerful power.
Comprehending seven Daos at once, this was actually something very impressive although a top-tier character wouldn’t find it interesting since the seven Daos he mastered were only at the 1st Stage Ancient Sage level.
He might be too talented in the seven Daos, but being stuck at that stage for so long, this meant that his overall talent was not that impressive and dividing the focus to the seven Daos, it would only waste a lot of his time.
In cultivation, improving the Dao was more important than understanding more Dao.
Training two was enough and then one could train the third and fourth at different times.
Against a Monster with a 3rd Stage Ancient Sage cultivation, he apparently had to sacrifice himself.
Perhaps his strength was far above other 1st Stage Ancient Sages but without the use of secret techniques that could increase combat power, he still lost to 2nd Stage Ancient Sages, let alone 3rd.
Yi Mingxue stared at the old man, who had the title of Seven Paths Ancient Sage in this Great World.
He recalled when she was still a 1st Stage Ancient Sage where she only relied on one Dao, the Dao of Destruction.
However, she thought she was much stronger than the old man.
The old man continued to stare at Asher and Yi Mingxue, realizing that they were extremely unpredictable.
He was worried that he would not be able to fight them when he was in peak condition, let alone now where there was little consciousness left.
Although he was indeed still alive, recovering might be rather impossible.
"What do you want to do here, sir?" the old man asked.
He knew Asher was in charge, so he only spoke to him.
"I want this monster," Asher answered him, pointing at the giant red monster.
"What?" The old man and the monster itself were stunned at his words.
"Sir, this monster has caused a disaster, and we can only seal it here, no one is allowed to do anything," the old man replied.
As for the monster, its expression became full of rage.
"Boy, who do you think you are? However, if you can help free me, I don’t mind making you my bodyguard," it said in a loud voice that should be able to be heard throughout the Great World.
It wasn’t exactly angry, but was giving Asher a chance, which of course was amusing to Yi Mingxue.
Asher was too lazy to respond to the two, he looked at Yi Mingxue, signaling for her to act.
Of course, since he said he wanted the monster, he didn’t need to explain to Yi Mingxue what she should do.
As soon as she got his gaze, she casually pointed her finger at the chains that bound the monster.
She released a bit of power from her Dao of Destruction.
Crack!
In an instant, the chains shattered into countless tiny pieces.
"What?" The Seven Paths Ancient Sage was so shocked that he staggered.
Those chains were made at the cost of his life, how could it shatter.
The monster itself found that it was liberated now, which surprised it greatly.
It could move and its power was also not suppressed anymore.
"Is this real?" It wondered.
Right after it wondered, Yi Mingxue suddenly extended her slender hand to it.
It was a very small hand, like the hand of an ant compared to the monster.
Touching the monster was impossible with her hand, yet it actually managed to touch the monster’s head.
BANG!
Yi Mingxue hit its head, instantly knocking the monster down until its face hit the ground where its nose and mouth were oozing blood. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Its aura also instantly became extremely weak.
It seemed that it was an ant that had just been hit by a human, and one hit was enough to make it half-dead.
Shua!
Asher pointed his hand at the monster.
An invisible force pulled at it until it shrank in size as it moved towards his hand.
In an instant, it became the size of a newborn baby mouse.
Since it was still conscious, it finally understood that it had encountered two monsters that were much bigger than it.
"You monsters," it said using all of its remaining strength.
"Mingxue, recover the old man," Asher said before taking a step to leave.
Yi Mingxue nodded, looking at the Seven Paths Ancient Sage.
She sent a beam of green light to him.
When that green light touched him, it instantly restored his soul and body, so instantly that he didn’t realize how his body recovered.
He only found that he was back to the way he was before.
Then he realized that there was a tremendous life force that had come into contact with him.
That was what made him recover instantly.
Unfortunately, Yi Mingxue had already disappeared so he couldn’t say anything.
