Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence-Chapter 426 - 176: Gael Regon’s Terrifying Memories Beneath Heisen Castle (Part 3)
"My beautiful, powerful, and noble Giant Dragon master, we have recognized today’s mistake. Once my wounds are healed, we will give our all in your next assault, respectfully executing all your orders."
Its weak and submissive appearance greatly satisfied Aeliria, having taught it a lesson—a formidable deterrence to Gael Regon as well.
At least it now clearly sees how easily it can be disciplined if it dares to resist, after having suffered some loss at Skaros’s hands just moments ago.
For the upcoming battle, Aeliria needs Gael Regon and its subordinates, the Tree Demons, to be the main force.
So after Aeliria sat back on the Thorn Throne, she lifted her golden Golden Pupils at Gael Regon and said, "Skaros needs a period to recover from its injuries, and I will give it a potion to heal quickly. The task of attacking the human town will be entrusted to you."
Gael Regon did not angrily question Irelia like Skaros did; it was always insidious: "Of course, it’s no problem for me to be the main assault force. But from which direction do we attack? How to deal with the human Knight Order? Without resolving these, I think our attacks may not be effective, only resulting in my offspring dying in vain."
Gael Regon essentially threw the problem back at Irelia. If she can’t solve the problem of human Cavalry Corps attacking, she shouldn’t pin the blame of failing to capture the town on the Tree Demons.
No army can forcefully capture a town while enduring constant harassment from the enemy.
Gael Regon’s insidious words made Aeliria’s anger nearly erupt; few Giant Dragons possess a mild temperament. Its cold gaze locked onto Gael Regon as it roared, "Do your job! Fool, I know better than you how to wage war."
Rage almost spilled from Gael Regon’s venomous eyes, but hearing Ostanka’s low growl in its throat, as if it could launch an attack at any moment, it contained its impulse.
Now was not the appropriate time to turn against the Green Dragon; if they did fight here, it would hardly get the upper hand.
Hence, with a sullen face, it turned and left in large strides. This battle was its best chance to weaken the Green Dragon through human hands.
The Green Dragon’s fangs, familiars, and monsters were already nearly wiped out. As long as it conserved strength in the upcoming prolonged siege, it would soon seize the opportunity for resurgence!
Therefore, it could only lead the troops, preparing to storm the city. The Tree Demon Legion was very suited to front-line combat; they could hide within the forest, unless in close contact, otherwise the enemy wouldn’t be able to detect their forms.
Also, Tree Demons were malicious creatures with hearts as cold as ice. In the souls of Tree Demons, there was no room for compassion or kindness, only unwavering devotion to the forest. Compared to this, even the most sincere vows of elves or humans were insignificant. Those daring to harm the forest in the slightest, triggered their dreadful revenge without negotiation, with only one path—death.
When they gathered to a sufficiently large scale, they could even set up vines, resisting charges, and then Tree Spirits hidden in the line would emerge, ravaging opponents en masse. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
This was a more advanced forest Tree Demon; in size and power, they equaled a Giant, though lacking regenerative abilities, their attacks were magic attacks! Even the steel defenses of knights, akin to canned armor, greatly diminished in protective capability against the Tree Spirits’ attacks.
Gael Regon believed that as long as he remained cautious, if not capturing the city, he could at least inflict significant damage on the enemy.
As long as fewer Tree Demons died than other Green Dragon’s Fangs, then his power would soon surpass the Green Dragon.
But soon, reality taught him a bitter lesson.
In just three days, Gael Regon, who once walked out full of confidence, was forced to return to the Holy Forest, covered in wounds, seeking aid from the Thorn Throne.
"My esteemed master, we must come up with a way to restrict these human knights!"
His voice was filled with endless resentment, boundless humiliation, and seething hatred: "These despicable humans have shattered three of my Tree Demon Legions!"
"Our army surrounded the city, launching fierce attacks. Yet every time we exhausted ourselves, at the brink of collapse, the Knight Legion, led by the human Divine Chosen Knights, appeared on a battlefield!"
Speaking of this, Gael Regon still shuddered at the memory, a terrifying scene.
Under Heisen Castle’s walls, the sky was stained blood-red by the flames of war, and the air reeked of intense smoke and a pungent scent of blood.
Gael Regon’s Tree Demon Legion and the human army fought bloodily in the castle’s defenses, and the Tree Demons’ performance was undeniably brave, fiercely attacking all of the human defenses, with both sides exerting all their might, killing amid mountains of corpses and oceans of blood.
Yet, just when the Tree Demons relied on their formidable power and resilient life energy to nearly repel the human guards, the human cavalry charged from another direction of the city, clad in armor shimmering in Fiery Sun gold, wielding sharp longswords, riding tall warhorses, appearing like divine warriors descending from the heavens. Led by a valiant human Divine Chosen Knight, they rushed towards the Tree Demon Legion at lightning speed.
