Plunder-Chapter 264 Closing the Net (Part 1)
"Blood, Mom, you’re bleeding!"
Zhou Chucheng yelled frantically.
An Jinhua also realized the situation was dire.
Yao Chuman was no pushover. She screamed in fright and then collapsed to the ground.
"Mom, Mom, how are you?"
Zhou Chucheng hurried over, grabbed Yao Chuman’s shoulders, and shook her, but she tightly closed her eyes.
That morning, An Jinhua had been tormented.
His head was pounding as he immediately instructed his assistant to dial 120.
Before the paramedics arrived, Yao Chuman just lay there on the ground.
Zhou Chucheng lived up to expectations and played the role of a coward to perfection.
"Mom, you can’t die, what would I do without you?"
He cried out loud, tears streaming down his face, which disturbed An Jinhua deeply.
He quickly strode over and checked if Yao Chuman was breathing by placing his hand near her nostrils.
"Stop crying, your mom isn’t dead."
He was both angry and annoyed; he hadn’t done anything to Yao Chuman, but because she was bleeding and had collapsed because of him, he was considered at fault.
"Brother An, I know my mom is being unreasonable, but she’s still my mom. You can vent your frustration on me, why take it out on her?"
Agitated, An Jinhua pointed his trembling finger at Zhou Chucheng’s nose and scolded, "Are you blind? Your mother has been unreasonably disrupting everything from the start. What have I done to her? She’s clearly pretending right now."
"Brother An, how can you say that about my mom? Look, she’s bleeding from her forehead."
Zhou Chucheng said, sniffling.
Soon, the ambulance arrived.
The paramedics came upstairs.
However, as they tried to lift Yao Chuman onto the stretcher, she grabbed Zhou Chucheng’s arm, refusing to let go.
"The fifty million, he hasn’t paid yet. I’d rather die than let him off."
"Brother An, please fulfill my mom’s wish. Her health is poor; if something happens to her, you won’t be able to bear the responsibility."
A coercive sword had already been drawn.
Yao Chuman’s unruliness was disturbing An Jinhua’s peace of mind.
And Zhou Chucheng was a wolf in sheep’s clothing, appearing weak but delivering blows that mercilessly struck at his heart.
An Jinhua, trapped by Zhou Chucheng and his mother, had no way to resist.
Today, if he did not give the fifty million, he would be branded as someone who bullies the weak.
But for him to give up that fifty million was not an easy task.
"Does it have to be right now?"
An Jinhua asked gruffly.
Zhou Chucheng did not respond, while Yao Chuman struggled and said in a voice as if on her deathbed, "It must."
At this point, An Jinhua had no way out.
He looked deeply at Zhou Chucheng, who still wore an expression of naive stupidity.
"Brother An, I’m sorry. I... "
An Jinhua waved him off, not wanting to hear another word from anyone at that moment.
"How much is left in the company’s account?"
He called his assistant to inquire.
"Just under thirty million."
On hearing this, An Jinhua’s brow furrowed even deeper.
"Alright, I know. Have finance transfer all that money to Zhou Chucheng," he said, and then ended the call.
Next, he dialed Old Master An’s number.
"Dad, I need a favor. I urgently need some cash, around thirty million for about a week."
Old Master An had retirement funds, and An knew that those funds should not be touched.
"No way."
Old Master An hung up before An Jinhua could finish speaking.
Their voices were soft, but Zhou Chucheng heard everything.
He quietly took out his phone and sent a message to Zhou Jin’an.
"Big brother, things are almost settled. Nearly thirty million is coming in, but he can’t produce the rest of the money. Should we keep playing?"
"If there’s no cash available, he can offset it with shares."
Zhou Jin’an suggested.
Zhou Chucheng’s eyes lit up.
In business, Zhou Jin’an was a seasoned player.
So while An Jinhua was still making calls to ask for help, Zhou Chucheng spoke up again.
"Brother Hua, how about this? Don’t give the remaining twenty million for now."
The moment he finished speaking, Yao Chuman pinched him hard on the leg.
"Ouch!"
Zhou Chucheng groaned in pain.
Looking down, he saw Yao Chuman winking at him with one eye open and the other closed.
He understood, Yao Chuman wanted him not to back down.
When it came to making a scene, his mom was definitely a formidable character.
"What do you say?"
An Jinhua looked suspiciously at Zhou Chucheng.
Scratching the back of his head, still with a testing tone, he said, "How about this? Give me some shares of the company, and I’ll just take the dividend at the end of the year, as if you’re taking care of me, Brother Hua."
An Jinhua’s gloomy eyes tightened, and a vein throbbed on his forehead.
"Brother Hua, you can rest assured, I am asking for this to put my mom at ease. I’m afraid she’ll come to bother you every now and then, which wouldn’t be good for the company. You’ve always treated me like a younger brother. I’ve been learning from you, hoping to assist you in the future."
An Jinhua was extremely reluctant, but being prideful, he had been snubbed everywhere he asked for help, and crucially, even his own father hadn’t shown him any respect.
"Fine, I’ll give you one percent of the shares."
An Jinhua gave in.
One percent of the shares was nothing to An Corporation.
"Ten percent, not a percent less."
Yao Chuman, lying on the stretcher, spoke weakly again.
"Mom, isn’t that too much?"
Zhou Chucheng intentionally asked cautiously.
Yao Chuman stayed silent, just scowling.
Zhou Chucheng then looked at An Jinhua, rubbing his hands, and tentatively said, "Brother Hua, how about we go with what my mom said for now? You see, her injuries are quite severe, and she needs to be rushed to the hospital immediately. Once she’s better, we can discuss this long-term, how about that?"
He offered a compromise.
At this moment, An Jinhua just wanted to end this persistent hassle as quickly as possible, he waved his hand dismissively, "Ten percent it is."
"Then, Brother Hua, could you write a note for it? Just to ease my mom’s mind, so she won’t keep fussing. You know how crazy menopausal women can be."
Zhou Chucheng spoke in a hushed voice.
An Jinhua was at a point where he didn’t want to say another word; he grabbed a pen from the table, quickly wrote the note, then signed his name and pushed it toward Zhou Chucheng.
Zhou Chucheng picked it up and took a careful look.
"Brother Hua, I really appreciate this. Once I get my mom settled, I’ll invite you out for tea."
An Jinhua sat in his office chair with a face as dark as thunder, not responding.
Zhou Chucheng handed the note to Yao Chuman, "Mom, it’s all settled now, you can relax. I told you, Brother Hua treats me like his own brother, but you just wouldn’t believe it. Now with this note, do you believe it?"
"Brother Hua, we’ll be going now, you’re busy."
Zhou Chucheng hurriedly signaled the medical staff to carry Yao Chuman out.
The moment the group stepped into the elevator, Yao Chuman suddenly "came back to life" and got off the stretcher.
"How did I do today?"
She sat up, fixing her hair and pulling out a mirror from her bag to check the bruise on her forehead.
Zhou Chucheng showed a satisfied smile, "When my mom makes a move, it’s always Oscar-worthy. Thank goodness for you today."
Yao Chuman proudly said, "When I was young I was also a hard case, just for you two ungrateful brats. I’ve just gotten rusty over the years. Chucheng, why did you want me to play this act? We don’t lack money. You saw how desperate An Jinhua was today, his eyes were practically bleeding!"
Zhou Chucheng blinked and played coy, "Mom, I can’t tell you about these things yet, but soon you’ll understand. Don’t worry, I would never hurt you. In the future, once I’ve made it, I will definitely take good care of you."
Yao Chuman was pleased yet skeptical, pursing her lips and casting a cynical look.
"Don’t sweet-talk me. You and your brother are both my own flesh and blood, I know you too well. You’re both hopeless ’buns’. I’m not going to entertain such pipedreams. I’m just a woman with a hard fate, destined to be driven mad by you two!"
She chastised, jabbing Zhou Chucheng’s forehead with her finger.
"Mom, I know you’re the best to me, I swear, I won’t let you down."
The elevator reached the first floor, and Zhou Chucheng walked out briskly.
"Mom, I’ve still got things to take care of, I’m leaving now, you go to the hospital on your own. I’ll visit you when I’m free!"
Yao Chuman was shocked, "You scoundrel, your own mother is injured and you won’t even accompany her to the hospital, you heartless little thing, just like your brother."
Although she scolded him, her eyes showed happiness.
Zhou Chucheng left An Corporation and immediately drove straight for Nanchen.
"Big brother, it’s all set, when do we close in?"
Zhou Jin’an seemed to have been waiting for this call.
His chilly voice came through the phone, cooling and penetrating to the core.
"Now!"
