Chapter 323: Chapter 323: Being Shameless to the End

She seemed to have drunk too much, her cheeks flushed red, her legs weak and powerless, her entire body leaning into Zhou Jin’an’s embrace.

Zhou Jin’an instinctively wanted to push Zhu Yating away, but she clung tightly to his arm.

He kept making eye contact with Cheng Lu, who under normal circumstances, would step forward to shield Zhou Jin’an from trouble.

But at that moment, Cheng Lu was on the phone with Lin Youyou.

"Cousin, can I get a ride with you? I don’t feel well; I want to go home,"

Zhu Yating murmured.

Zhou Jin’an’s patience was extremely limited, and if it weren’t for the fact that this was a banquet scene, he would have definitely pushed Zhu Yating away immediately.

But with so many eyes around, as a man, he had to display chivalrous behavior.

"Walk by yourself."

He commanded.

Zhu Yating had a smug smile at the corner of her mouth, "Cousin, my legs are so weak, they feel like they’re stepping on cotton."

She let go of Zhou Jin’an’s hand, but the next second, she fell towards Zhou Jin’an again.

This time, Zhou Jin’an dodged in time, and Zhu Yating directly fell to the ground.

"Cousin, it hurts so much,"

Zhu Yating cooed.

Zhou Jin’an did not pause for even a moment; he took out his mobile phone, pretended to take a call, and headed straight for the Maybach.

Cheng Lu was still chatting on the phone with Lin Youyou, talking about who knows what.

It was only after Cheng Lu hung up the phone that he realized Zhou Jin’an had already left.

He quickened his pace and walked towards the Maybach as well.

However, as he was about to reach the Maybach, a commotion erupted at the entrance of the venue.

"What do you guys want to do? Let go of me."

It was Zhu Yating’s voice.

She was drunk, and at that moment, she was surrounded by several young men.

They were seizing the opportunity to grope her continuously, and she, outnumbered, could not protect herself, merely struggling feebly.

"Get lost, stay away from me."

She swung her small bag, trying to drive those people away from her.

But instead of leaving, they grabbed the bag and pulled her into their embrace.

"Beauty, why go home so early, it’s so boring. I know a fun place, let’s go there now, my car is over there,"

As he spoke, the man wrapped his arm around Zhu Yating’s shoulder and began dragging her towards the parking area.

"I won’t go, I want to return home."

Zhu Yating resisted feebly, but her resistance was futile.

Someone ran ahead to the car and opened the door.

"Brother Cao, wish you a good dream tonight!"

The men smirked, and the man holding Zhu Yating looked triumphantly satisfied.

"Don’t rush, there’s enough fun for everyone tonight, Brother Cao never hogs all the good times."

"Director Zhou, Miss Zhu is in danger."

Cheng Lu heard all the commotion from outside.

Although he despised Zhu Yating, seeing her being bullied by those ruffians, he couldn’t bear it.

Zhou Jin’an said nothing, his face looking awful.

What he hated most was men bullying women, especially vulnerable women.

"Go on, but don’t hurt anyone."

Zhou Jin’an gave the order.

Cheng Lu opened the car door and stepped out, his black suit and long legs taking him straight towards the crowd.

That man surnamed Cao was shoving Zhu Yating into his car.

She refused to get in, desperately clinging to the car door.

"I’m not getting on your car, let me go."

"Where are you going? We’ve not had enough fun yet, it would be such a pity to leave now,"

The man surnamed Cao took advantage of the situation to swipe at Zhu Yating’s chest.

"Damn, you’re quite something, I’ll be sure to take good care of you tonight,"

He slapped Zhu Yating’s perky buttocks.

Just then, Cheng Lu drew near, his tall and imposing figure casting a shadow over the man, enveloping him.

"Buddy, don’t meddle in other people’s business,"

The man surnamed Cao pointed his finger at Cheng Lu.

Cheng Lu’s face was icy cold, and before the man surnamed Cao could react, Cheng Lu threw a hook punch at Cao’s chin.

A crisp sound of bones cracking was heard; Cao cried out in pain and let go instantly.

The onlookers, seeing Mr. Cao get hit, were immediately eager to join the fray.

Cheng Lu simply lifted his long legs, and with a fierce kick, shattered the car’s windshield.

He stood still for a moment, then moved his neck around, making crackling sounds.

The crowd shivered and abruptly stopped in their tracks.

"If you don’t want to end up in the hospital together, get lost. Otherwise, I’ll lay you out in the same ward."

Cheng Lu spoke with a nonchalant tone.

Mr. Cao was rolling on the ground in pain, as Cheng Lu’s foot pressed against his chest; he was in unbearable agony.

"Still want to play? I’ll entertain you."

He looked down at the man from on high.

The man couldn’t speak; he just shook his head like a rattle-drum.

"Get lost."

Cheng Lu said coldly in one word. The man struggled to get up from the ground, clutching his waist, and immediately took off running.

Zhu Yating was now sitting on the ground. She clung to the car door, trying to stand up, but her legs seemed to be disobeying her.

"Assistant Cheng, help me."

She reached out a hand toward Cheng Lu.

Disgust welled up once more in Cheng Lu, "If you can’t hold your liquor, don’t show off."

He said coldly.

"Assistant Cheng, please, help me. I can’t get up."

Zhu Yating pleaded with a whining tone.

Though Cheng Lu found her repulsive, his compassion surfaced at this moment.

He reached out, grabbed Zhu Yating’s wrist, and pulled her up from the ground. But she couldn’t walk steadily; her body was swaying violently.

Having no choice, Cheng Lu decided to be completely the good guy and supported Zhu Yating, helping her toward the Maybach.

"Director Zhou, what should we do now?"

Cheng Lu asked with a look of difficulty.

Zhou Jin’an was sitting in the car, engrossed in reading documents on a tablet.

"Whatever you decide."

He didn’t want to bother with such matters.

But Cheng Lu didn’t know what to do. Zhu Yating was female, and she’d lost her faculty of judgement. If he just put her in a taxi, and something happened to her, it could spell trouble.

"Where do you live?"

"Fuxing Huiyu," Zhu Yating answered in a daze.

"Get in the car."

Without waiting for Zhou Jin’an’s consent, Cheng Lu opened the car door and stuffed Zhu Yating into the front passenger seat.

"Who told you to do that?"

Zhou Jin’an questioned him immediately. Cheng Lu, silent, buckled the seatbelt and sat back in the driver’s seat.

"Didn’t you say to decide for myself?"

Cheng Lu responded.

Zhou Jin’an gave him a sharp look, meaning that he didn’t want Cheng Lu to meddle in these matters, yet Cheng Lu, the knucklehead, just didn’t get it.

"She’s drunk too much; it’s dangerous to leave her. We’re on the way, so might as well see it through."

Cheng Lu explained of his own accord.

"You’re the one seeing it through, not me."

Yet, as soon as the car started, Zhou Jin’an was contradicted.

"Cousin, I’m not drunk; I’m wide awake. I just don’t have any strength and I’m so hot."

Zhu Yating slumped in her seat, mumbling and began to undo the buttons of her gown.

"Miss Zhu, you mustn’t."

Cheng Lu hit the brakes hard and immediately intervened to stop Zhu Yating.

Her eyes were glassy as she kept staring at Cheng Lu, "But I’m so hot, I can barely breathe."

Before she could finish her sentence, she started to vomit.

Cheng Lu quickly rolled down the window and Zhu Yating leaned out and retched for a while.

After throwing up, she settled down a lot.

Soon, they arrived at Zhu Yating’s residential complex.

However, she didn’t realize when she had fallen asleep.

"Miss Zhu, wake up, wake up, where’s your home?"

Cheng Lu tapped Zhu Yating’s arm, trying to rouse her from her deep slumber.

But she was like a dead pig in sleep, no amount of calling would wake her up.
