Chapter 124: The mystery of the meteorites

“Where is the Moon Stone?”

“Where?!”

Upon hearing this voice, the gaze of many Trainers was drawn towards it. The Trainer who found the Moon Stone had a smug expression on his face. He held the deep black Moon Stone that resembled the night sky, enjoying the envious looks of others; not to mention how satisfying that feeling was…

“It doesn’t look easy.” Terrance saw that many people were covered in dirt, but judging by their expressions, they probably had no luck, huh?

The area was already uneven with pits and holes. When the meteorite fell, it scattered into many pieces of various sizes, landing in different places. As a result, it didn’t look so flat here. Imitating others, Terrance picked up a fragment of the meteorite and gave it a hard knock.

It shattered.

There was nothing at all.

“Hey, kid…” Just as Terrance sighed, an old man tugged at him.

“What’s up?” Terrance asked. f(r)eeweb(n)ovel

“Stop searching…these are all unwanted scraps. The chance of finding a Moon Stone in them is slim.” The old man said mysteriously, “Look, let me show you my treasures…”

After saying that, the old man took out a bag filled with variously shaped meteorite pieces. They looked more beautiful than the one Terrance had just picked up.

“These are the ‘fine specimens’ I’ve collected. Seeing you Trainers from out of town working so hard to find them, I’ll sell you some at a cheap price.”

“Believe me, nobody around here doesn’t know the name of FOSSIL MANIAC. I’ve always been honest. Just one piece for…”

“Sorry, uncle, I don’t have money.” Terrance politely said and walked away.

“Damn it!” Fossil Maniac was stunned. He looked at Terence, who didn’t seem like a very smart guy. “Oh well, forget it.”

“Keep walking and looking around. There’s not a single one with anything in it…”

……

……

“Something’s not right.” Terrance occasionally picked up a meteorite, pondering. What was this familiar feeling? It seemed like he had forgotten something important.

After wandering around for tens of minutes, he didn’t find a Moon Stone, but he did eat a lot of dirt.

However, after looking at dozens of meteorite pieces, Terrance suddenly noticed something.

Immediately, he placed his backpack in front of him, rummaged through it until he finally pulled out a broken piece of stone.

This stone was uneven, and even uglier than the meteorite fragments on the ground that no one had picked up. However, it was extremely similar to these meteorites, except it was emitting a faint glow, and touching it, there was even a subtle temperature difference compared to ordinary meteorites.

“What’s going on here?” Terrance’ eyes widened.

To verify this difference, he placed the stone from his backpack and the meteorite piece on the ground, quietly waiting for over ten minutes. Sure enough, the temperature difference was still there.

“This stone…” Terrance was stunned.

To trace the origin of this stone, we would have to go back to two years ago when Terrance and Swablu spent a month on Mt. Chimney. After earning Altaria’s approval, Terrance took Swablu with him, and Altaria also gave him a gift.

The gift was this stone.

At that time, this meteorite was in Altaria’s nest. Terrance speculated it might be something precious to Altaria. However, upon receiving it, he even asked Master Victor, who only asserted that it was just a peculiar ordinary stone.

Terrance had also looked up through some documents but found no records. Although he felt it looked similar to a meteorite at the time, he didn’t think much of it since it wasn’t anything valuable.

Over time, the stone showed no signs of anything strange, and Terence forgot it. He kept it in his backpack as a souvenir, intending to ask Altaria about it one day when he again visited with Swablu.

Terrance picked up a few more real meteorites for comparison and found that the more severely damaged the meteorite, the more similar it was to this stone.

Besides, there was no halo when he had first obtained the stone!

The fundamental difference between temperature and radiance made Terrance feel certain that it was a meteorite, but at the same time, he sensed an issue. The world had its share of peculiar stones, but most of them had some form of records. In the absence of records, all that could be done was to await the discoveries of future generations.

The stone in his hand was obviously something unknown. Thinking of the experiences of the ancestor of Breeders “Mr. Generation,” a rare feeling of curiosity appeared in his usually rigid heart.

“What is this stone used for?”

“Why has it undergone these changes??”

Taking out the stone again, for some reason, Terrance found it interesting this time and wanted to find its secrets.

“Huh… wait a minute.”

Terrance felt a warmth in his palm. While moving, he suddenly felt a change in the stone, as if the temperature had suddenly risen a bit, then immediately dropped. And then… even the halo around it became clearer.

Continuing to walk in that direction, Terrance’s heart suddenly skipped a beat as he felt the change in the stone.

Could it be… this stone could guide him to find the Moon Stone?

If that was the case, he’s hit the jackpot!

As if holding a treasure, Terrance followed the changes in the mysterious stone, collecting many nearby meteorites.

After carefully observing these meteorites, Terrance was astonished.

He realized he had been overthinking it. There was no Moon Stone; it was all his imagination. The mysterious stone didn’t provide such a service.

Realizing his naivety, Terrance shook his head, feeling more and more like a child, so pure…

“If it was just my misconception, why did this stone undergo changes here?”

“Mt. Moon… meteorites…”

“Meteorites falling from the sky…”

Terrance thought for a moment, but then gave up. There was too little information to go on, and it was pointless to waste any more time. In short, he came to Mt. Moon to find the Moon Stone, but instead of finding a Moon Stone, he discovered something strange about something he owned.

“Roar~”

“Roar~”

“Roar~”

Due to the strange stone, Terrance didn’t know how long he had stayed here. However, at this moment, a continuous roar echoed from the inner area of Mt. Moon.

Hearing these roars, Terrance’s expression turned bitter. “Could it be…”

“Do I have a disaster-attracting constitution?? Huh??”

“Roar~” The angry roars seemed to be venting emotions; Terrance had never heard such heart-rending roars.

“Damn it, which fool has angered Nidoking and Nidoqueen!”

With the sound of “bang bang bang,” the surrounding Trainers instantly showed expressions of panic and confusion, not understanding what was happening.

“Oh my god… look!!”

Finally, a Trainer showed a look of fear, watching as a large, bipedal Pokemon approached. Its entire body was purple, with a sharp venomous horn on its head, and on each side of its open mouth, there were five sharp teeth, one of which was a fierce fang.

“Nidoking… no… and Nidoqueen too!” Someone recognized the Pokemon that were charging over and immediately screamed, “Run, Nidoking and Nidoqueen are going berserk!”
