Pokémon Court-Chapter 125: Attack of Giant Beasts
Chapter 125: Attack of Giant Beasts
The giant beasts of Mt. Moon has gone berserk. As soon as this news spread, most Trainers immediately fled. Digging Moon Stones was no longer the top priority at the moment. Trainers often keep their distance from Pokemon that are easily angered, massive and incredibly destructive, fearing the consequences if they got involved.
Moreover, searching for Moon Stones was already a matter of luck. If a Trainer or their Pokemon were harmed by Nidoking in the process, the medical expenses would be enough to cause headaches.
However, there were Trainers with an overwhelming sense of justice who wanted to stop Nidoking’s rampage. They sent out their Pokemon, ready to confront the threat head-on.
Following Nidoking and Nidoqueen’s roars, the heavy footsteps gradually became clear. Seeing the number of huge monsters, the several Trainers gulped nervously.
“Roar~~~~”
“Nidokinggg~~~~”
Nidoking’s powerful tail slammed into the ground, sending rocks flying and creating a cloud of dust.
Initially, Terrance also wanted to leave quickly. There would be specialized personnel coming to deal with these Nidoking shortly. However, he immediately stopped in his tracks.
Rarely did so many giant beasts appear at the same time. Wouldn’t this be a great opportunity for Pokemon to engage in real combat?
In Viridian Forest, Terrance had spent a lot of effort searching for powerful Pokemon. Now that powerful Pokemon were right in front of him, there was no reason to avoid them.
“Swablu, get ready for battle.” Terrance tapped the Poke Ball at his waist, and the small and nimble Swablu flew out amidst a red light.
Terrance and Swablu were small compared to Nidoking and Nidoqueen, but they weren’t the only strange Trainer-Pokemon pair. Many Trainers on the scene also sent out similarly small and nimble Pokemon.
Although size doesn’t determine everything, in terms of inherent momentum, the Trainers were at a disadvantage.
“Why are there so many Nidoking and Nidoqueen going berserk?” Terrance, releasing Swablu, hesitated for a moment, his mind forming several conjectures.
Nidoking and Nidoqueen were relatively rare in the Kanto Region. While their numbers weren’t high, their pre-evolution forms, Nidoran♀, Nidoran♂, Nidorina, or Nidorino, were widespread throughout Kanto.
If there was a Pokemon in Kanto, apart from Gyarados, that Trainers disliked, Nidoking was it. Their inexplicable fits of rage were a common occurrence.
“Roar~~~~”
Hyper Beams swept across, and Trainers and Pokemon immediately scrambled for cover. The sounds of “Boom,” “Boom,” “Boom” echoed continuously, adding a tense atmosphere to the area.
Boom boom boom boom!
Not only that, with the rhythmic stomping of the giant beasts, the entire ground trembled, giving a dizzying sensation!
Six giant beasts were targeted by different Trainers, and Terrance focused his gaze on a particularly strong-looking Nidoqueen.
This Nidoqueen seemed more ferocious than the other giant beasts, with its originally black pupils even emitting a hint of red. Nidoqueen’s temperament was not as volatile as Nidoking’s, so Terrance couldn’t help but find it strange.
Swish!
A purely blue beam, accompanied by a chilling aura, shot towards Terrance like a laser. “Ice Beam…huh!” For Pokemon that could evolve into their final form independently in the wild, learning moves of different types was not surprising. Their talents had been perfectly demonstrated in the competition on the evolution path.
“It’s the first time I am going to show my true strength in the wild. Right, Swablu?” Terrance said. “Show it the progress you’ve made in the past year—Dragon Pulse!”
Waves surged out, winding like a river.
The dragon-shaped wave gradually condensed from blue-purple energy, eyes widened, glaring angrily. With sharp claws extended, the dragon raised its head high and soared through the air, breaking through the void. Exuding immense power, it charged aggressively towards the oncoming Ice Beam.
Boom, boom, boom!
A rumbling sound echoed as the two moves collided, with a chill permeating the air and white mist rising.
But it wasn’t over yet.
“Nidoqueennn~~~~”
The angry cry resounded again as Nidoqueen forcefully rushed forward, attempting to suppress the opponent with its massive body. Naturally, Terrance wouldn’t let Nidoqueen succeed. Covered in needle-like scales, Nidoqueen wouldn’t show much pain, regardless of the attack, making this it’s truly terrifying aspect.
To defeat it without overwhelming strength, it was better not to confront it head-on.
A blue flash streaked across, and Terrance smiled. Underestimating Swablu would be a mistake. Two years of rigorous training had honed more than just a bit of level.
Using “Agility,” Swablu arrived above Nidoqueen, and without even glancing at Nidoqueen, it immediately condensed a massive energy ball, dispersed it, and blew it up. Numerous small meteors instantly streaked along a trajectory, landing simultaneously around Nidoqueen.
Boom, boom, boom, boom!
Swablu’s series of actions could be described as natural and smooth. Even the execution of “Draco Meteor” was swift and decisive, descending straight upon Nidoqueen before it could react.
“Nidoqueenn~~~~~~”
A painful cry echoed, and Terrance wasn’t surprised. Even if Nidoqueen’s defense was formidable, it’s all relative. There’s no reason for it to come out unscathed after taking a hit from Swablu’s “Draco Meteor,” right? (f)reeweb(n)ovel.com
Boom!
Under the bombardment of Draco Meteor, Nidoqueen, unwillingly, was knocked down to the ground. While angrily roaring, it struggled to get back up.
“Nidokinggg~~~~”
The Nidoking and Nidoqueen from other areas, witnessing the Nidoqueen here being knocked down in a single blow, instantly erupted in rage. The pressure on the other Trainers skyrocketed, to the point where one or Two trainers without sufficient strength had their Pokémon sent flying.
“Misdreavus!”
“Hmm?”
Nidoqueen, teetering on the brink of collapse and attempting to stand up, suddenly grew even more enraged when Terrance issued a certain command, its eyes glowing red.
“Phew~~ I roughly understand what’s going on.”
“Ji~~~~!” Swablu stared blankly, puzzled.
“You’ve accumulated enough evolution potential, right? Now is a good time. The attention of Nidoking and Nidoqueen has been drawn away.”
“If we can get them to calm down, that’s great. If not, the upcoming battle will be a good opportunity for your stable evolution.”
Terrance spoke to Swablu. Regarding Swablu’s lifespan, two years was indeed “young.” Evolving independently in the wild was not easy for Pokemon, but Trainers disrupted these biological norms. They provided enough combat for Pokemon to accumulate experience, a perfect healing system without lingering issues, and abundant, comfortable nutrition supplementation—all contributing a good foundation for their rapid growth.
Terrance had invested as much in Swablu as anyone else, and Swablu had long accumulated the foundation for evolution.
Now that he is not in the academy, Terrance urgently needed a Pokemon that could serve as his true trump card. Swablu, it’s time to evolve.
