Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System-Chapter 1470: Longing
As more memories flowed into Kent’s mind, his hand continued to move, adding more details to the painting, making sure every brushstroke gave the image he was trying to bring out meaning.
Aysel and her sister remained rooted in the same spot, their focus fixed on the canvas.
The image was only half done, but even that seemed to have captured their undivided attention, and as more detail was added, that attention only grew.
The details were being poured onto the canvas, and neither Aysel nor her sister could make head or tail of them. To them, the more details being added to the painting, the more beautiful it became.
It got to the point where they even wondered whether there was any need to add more details to the already beautiful painting.
Two hours later, Kent snapped awake, and right then, the last brushstroke was added, bringing the entire process to an end.
He stood up and walked back, making sure his back was facing the painting as he took in deep breaths. This ritual was something Aurelion had always done whenever he was done painting.
He walks back for five minutes, making sure not even his peripheral vision sees what he has painted. This, of course, was only done for paintings. Calligraphy had its own ritual.
Aysel and her sister remained standing, staring at his back throughout the ritual. After five minutes, he turned slowly and looked at the painting.
It was then that Aysel and her sister saw the tears falling down his face.
He walked closer to the painting and brushed his fingers tenderly across the beautiful face of the lady in the painting.
It had been billions of years, but thanks to the memories he had recovered, his longing for his mother persisted, which is evident in his first-ever painting in this life.
The woman in the painting was a beautiful elf who, many years ago, gave birth to the sweet kid who later ruled the universe as the legendary Divine Beast Tamer.
Kent remembered up to the point when Aurelion wrote the first piece of calligraphy that changed the world of Beast Taming.
He once witnessed how inhuman a beast was being treated by a Beast tamer. That ordeal left a scar on his heart, so he swore to do something about it.
It was also that incident that made him switch from painting for others to painting for himself.
Over the years, he had improved upon his painting, creating both good and bad scenes using brushes and paints. He painted many beautiful scenes, which, thanks to his unique talent, could be manifested in real life.
He was what the universe called a Spirit Painter. There were others like him; however, he was one of a kind. His imagination was vivid and all-encompassing.
All his creations were deemed perfect, and so for who knows how long, he had created many masterpieces. However, his big break came when he drew the Beast Tamer calligraphy.
He had tried many times to create a spirited word, one that could bend the will of nature and imprint on divine beasts, but he failed many times.
However, he never stopped, and thanks to the occasional letters his mom kept sending, he always had the inspiration to keep going.
Thanks to her, he had achieved a big goal. A goal that would later shape the universe that nobody saw coming.
So while he had no idea what he had painted, now that he looked at it, and with memories of his past life still fresh in his mind, the emotions of it all were getting to him.
Aysel moved forward and took his hand, hugging it close to her tiny chest. Kent turned and looked at her, allowing a small smile to appear on his face.
Then, to his shock, her sister moved to hug him from the side as well.
Aysel, he understood.
But to think her sister, who happened to be bountiful on the chest, would hug him, giving him all the emotional support there was, he was a bit stunned.
What Kent didn’t know was that while the lady in the picture wore a beaming smile, the brushstrokes added a layer of emotion that even Aysel and her sister felt.
The emotion of longing ran deep in the painting. His gratitude, love, and sadness had been poured into it. He made sure to capture how he felt, and now it seemed others had felt his longing for his mother, too.
Surprisingly, too, in that life, his mom and dad didn’t die like in the previous ones. His memories ended when he became an Immortal King, and through it all, he maintained contact with his parents.
This meant that everything went all right in the end. His parents were still alive, and he couldn’t help but wish that would prove true once all the memories had been recovered.
He might have a mother in this life, or a partial one, all things considered, but that didn’t mean he didn’t wish for his parents from his past lives to still live.
Chaos was born from an egg created by the universe, so he had no parents. Jest didn’t know who his father was, but he knew his mom died the day she gave birth to him as a slave.
He wanted to find his lineage now that he was back to where it all began. But until then, there was also Faceless, who also didn’t know who his father was but was aware his mother allegedly died protecting him from assassins.
As to whether she truly died, since he had never seen a body, he couldn’t confirm it.
Then came the Ruthless Bandit, who lost everything at the hands of those he and his family trusted. He would never forget that, and he would most certainly pay back everyone if there was even a strand of that lineage still alive.
Lastly, Kevin Sage. He knew his mother had abandoned him, so he grew up knowing only his father, who, from the few memories he had of that life, was his inspiration, even if he was a con artist.
He didn’t know if his mother still lived. Of course, even if she did, it wasn’t like Kent would be happy to seek her out. After all, she abandoned him, so in his heart, they were not a family.
So far, all his other lives had lost those closest to them. But this new life seemed to have it the other way around. His parents were super supportive, and those who sought to develop his talent were incredible as well.
The sect he was taken to was the best.
So a part of him wished with every fiber of his being that they still lived to this day. He longed for them, especially his mother, who was both his mentor and his inspiration.
The painting conveyed that longing, and now, as two adorable ladies hugged him, the little resistance he had mounted broke, allowing his tears to flow freely.
He chose not to resist it. This was a moment he never expected, so he allowed himself to be moved by the emotion.
Ten minutes later, he pulled them back and wiped the tears from their eyes. He wasn’t the only one who shed tears.
Aysel and her sister also shed their fair share of tears, mainly from the emotion contained in the painting, but partly also from their own hidden trauma. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Sorry about that, ladies. I didn’t know I had this many emotions bottled up within me." He pulled Aysel’s sister’s head onto his shoulder and kissed her hair.
"Big brother, Aysel wants to know who this beautiful woman is."
Kent smiled and lifted Aysel into his arms, allowing her to wrap her tiny legs around him. "Her name is Rohesia Amynta, my mother."
