Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 704 Knowing, Can’t See (3)_1
The punishment from the sect was to strip Silvia Baxter of her General Manager position at Black Emperor Group, reclaim all rights granted to her by the Lièyàn Sect, and expel her. Those expelled from the Lièyàn Sect always met unnatural and gruesome ends. It wouldn't be members of the Lièyàn Sect who would act against her; rather, her old enemies would come seeking retribution, tearing her limb from limb.
Silvia Baxter's tenure in the Lièyàn Sect hadn't been exceptionally long, nor had it been brief. Naturally, she had made quite a few enemies. To name one, Glades Horne alone was enough to ensure her downfall.
Furthermore, her own original status and identity would also be suppressed by the Lièyàn Sect. This meant that after Silvia Baxter was driven out, the Baxter Family's business would suffer from the sect's oppression. If Glades Horne also sought revenge at that point, could the Baxter Family, caught between two fires, possibly survive?
These consequences might not sound terrifying at first, but in reality, they were horrifying.
It was precisely these rules that ensured members of the Lièyàn Sect remained loyal to the Sect Leader, daring not to betray him lightly.
Silvia Baxter had shot herself in the foot, turning merits into faults!
Silvia Baxter was quickly thrown out, and no one felt any sympathy for her.
Her face ashen, she had no idea what kind of death awaited her.
「Horne Family.」
Hansen Ruiz arrived at the Horne Family estate early in the morning.
Neither Jimmy Horne nor Ivan Horne had woken up yet when the nannies roused them.
"Mummy, I'm so sleepy," Jimmy Horne said to Julia as he walked down the stairs, holding her hand.
"You can sleep a little longer in Uncle Ruiz's car later," Julia said, her voice tinged with sympathy.
It was only six o'clock in the morning.
Usually, her son didn't get up until seven.
To prevent Noah Reyes from waiting for Jimmy at the Horne family home and following him to school, Glades Horne had a plan. He asked Hansen Ruiz to come to the Horne residence first and take Ivan and Jimmy to the Ruiz family home. Later, Hansen Ruiz would drive both boys to school, along with his daughter, Camila Ruiz.
This way, Noah Reyes wouldn't be able to wait outside the Horne family home to see Jimmy.
As dawn broke, Glades Horne's efforts to interfere had already begun.
This was also at Adele Horne's request.
She was afraid Noah Reyes would come to take her son, so she couldn't bear for Noah to see him again.
She didn't want to see Noah either.
"Mummy, why is this?" Ivan Horne asked curiously.
His adoring parents would never have dreamt of dragging him out of bed so early.
Julia smiled. "It's nothing, just be a good boy."
Ivan Horne blinked and didn't press further.
There was no point in a child like him prying into adult affairs. Save your breath.
Jimmy Horne wasn't as curious as Ivan. He was thrilled to see Hansen Ruiz because it meant he could ride in Uncle Ruiz's car to the Ruiz family home and tease Camila Ruiz. She'll be furious, haha!
He also planned to tell Camila that he'd met an uncle who looked a lot like him. See how handsome I am? Even grown-ups are copying my face!
Moreover, he would tell Camila that he was going to have a new daddy soon—a godfather! And a godfather is still a daddy, after all!
After helping the children with their backpacks, Julia and Adele led the two boys to Hansen Ruiz's Land Rover. Once the children were settled in the back seat, Julia turned to Hansen and said, "Thank you for the trouble."
Hansen Ruiz laughed. "There's no need for such formality with me."
The bond between their two families was as deep as that between brothers.
Adele was a bit worried. She feared Noah Reyes might kidnap her son again, just like yesterday.
Julia, seeing through her thoughts, patted her shoulder and said with a half-smile, "If you don't trust your brother and Hansen's abilities, who can you trust?"
Hansen Ruiz didn't linger. He got into the car, said to the two sisters-in-law, "I'll head out first," and then drove away from the Horne Mansion with the children. Meanwhile, Julia pulled Adele into the backyard for a walk and a heart-to-heart chat.
Glades Horne's precautions were not at all superfluous.
Barely ten minutes after Hansen Ruiz had left with the two young masters, Noah Reyes appeared outside the Horne residence.
He stepped out of the car holding a large bouquet. The vivid blossoms, kissed by the rising sun, looked exceptionally beautiful, fresh, and radiant.
As it was his first time buying flowers, handling such a large bouquet felt utterly unnatural to him. Today, he had switched his usual black suit for a white one, which made him look even more dashing and imposing. His natural air of leadership only enhanced his extraordinary presence.
His cold, handsome face strained to produce what he believed was his gentlest smile; in truth, it looked rather comical because it was so forced.
He stopped his bodyguards from ringing the doorbell and pressed it himself, deciding to announce his own arrival at the Horne household.
He wasn't here for his son today; he had come for Adele Horne.
His son would always be his; no matter where he was kept, no one could take him away. Adele, however, was not yet his and could be snatched away at any moment. Besides, he was quite worried about Glades Horne. He feared Glades might deliberately arrange matchmaking sessions for Adele, pushing her to marry someone else and take their son with her. That would leave him, the boy's father, to sigh helplessly over his son.
Upon hearing the doorbell, Uncle Ying, the housekeeper, walked to the door. When he saw Noah Reyes's face, which bore a striking resemblance to Young Master Jimmy's, he immediately guessed this must be the 'he' whom Glades Horne had mentioned to Miss Adele the previous day. Uncle Ying's expression immediately turned stern as he asked indifferently, "Sir, may I ask who you are looking for?"
With the man who had ruined Miss Adele's life standing right before him, Uncle Ying felt a strong urge to grab a broom and sweep him forcefully out the door.
Noah Reyes said as gently as possible, "Hello, I'd like to see Miss Adele Horne. Is she in?"
Surely, Adele would be in this early in the morning.
"I don't know," Uncle Ying replied indifferently.
Noah Reyes's face darkened, his brows furrowing. How could a servant not know if the lady of the house was in or not?
But this was a servant of the Horne Family, and he couldn't afford to lose his temper. So, he tried again, saying gently, "This early, she must still be at home."
"I don't know," Uncle Ying responded with the same indifference, not even glancing at Noah Reyes.
Noah Reyes's face darkened again. What kind of person was this? Did he genuinely know nothing, or was he deliberately targeting me?
The bodyguards behind him could hardly hold back and were about to step forward to warn Uncle Ying, but Noah stopped them.
This was his future wife's family home; he had to maintain his image. Yes, maintain my image, he resolved. Make a good impression on my future parents-in-law. That will be advantageous in my pursuit of her.
Noah Reyes took a deep breath, trying to restore his darkened face to its normal color. He shifted the hand holding the flowers slightly and then, very gently, asked again, "Can you let me in?"
"No," Uncle Ying stated, tilting his head back, his nostrils practically pointing at Noah, an infuriatingly arrogant expression on his face.
Noah Reyes, accustomed to others fawning over him, now found himself incensed by the Horne Family's housekeeper.
