Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 707 Sister Li Incident (1)_1
The defense system around him was strong, but it was a protective one; finding people required others.
To break through the defenses laid down by Glades Horne in the shortest time possible, he had summoned most of the information department from the Flamboyant Door. All the elders of the Flamboyant Door knew about his passionate encounter many years ago in T City, Syrena, with a woman who had now given birth to a son, said to be talented and ingenious—the legitimate son of their leader, as DNA verification had proven. Jimmy Horne was the leader's son, and no matter how the leader would treat that woman, the news that the current leader had a son had the elders as excited as if they had found a mountain of gold and silver.
When they heard the woman was from T City's foremost family and possessed a commendable status, yet her family prevented their leader from seeing his son and the woman, the elders grew furious.
The unmet young leader was the future soul of the Flamboyant Door.
How could they allow anyone to prevent him from returning to the Door?
Therefore, without Noah Reyes needing to summon his people, the highest elder dispatched most of the elite from the information department of the Flamboyant Door to Syrena; they had just arrived yesterday.
Noah Reyes trusted his people; he believed that he would soon learn of Adele Horne's whereabouts.
Still, he braced himself for disappointment.
Because sometimes, even when his people reported news of Adele Horne, by the time he arrived, all trace of her would have vanished.
He always had an intuition that Adele Horne and her son were still with the Horne Family, but he dared not truly search the Horne estate.
Noah Reyes, who had never suffered a loss before, was now enduring treatment he would never have previously accepted, all because of his one-time passion for Adele Horne.
If it weren't for the emotions he had felt for Adele Horne that one time, how could he have endured all this? He would have forcefully taken Jimmy Horne away long ago.
In the office, Hansen Ruiz was drinking coffee, looking at Glades Horne, and asked with a smile, "Glades, what's wrong? Still holding a grudge about that machine-gun incident? It's been a week. You've probably knocked that kid's arrogance down a few pegs by now, right?"
Hansen Ruiz was too insidious; he deliberately brought up the incident where Noah Reyes had once aimed a machine gun at Glades Horne.
Glades Horne's expression was cold, his eyes icy. Had it not been for Hansen Ruiz's reminder, he would have been reluctant to recall that infuriating scene. Here, he was someone everyone fawned over, high and mighty like an Emperor, a god among men, yet Noah Reyes had dared to point a machine gun at him. If he advanced, Noah Reyes would actually dare to shoot, forcing him to retreat from the Nameless Manor. That cold reception, that sense of frustration—each time it was mentioned, his hostility toward Noah Reyes deepened.
"What happened?" Julia asked, concealing a faint smile. Glades Horne had not mentioned this incident to her before.
"Nothing." Glades Horne shot Hansen Ruiz a sideways glare.
Having been close friends for many years, how could he not understand what Hansen Ruiz was thinking?
Hansen Ruiz just wanted to see some drama unfold!
This guy was a smiling tiger; when he got insidious, his schemes could make your hair stand on end.
Receiving his close friend's warning glare, Hansen Ruiz tactfully touched his nose and casually continued drinking his coffee as if nothing happened.
The temperature outside was very high. Even with the air conditioning on in the car, the sight of the searing sun made Noah Reyes feel somewhat irritable.
He kept staring at his phone, hoping his people would call to say they had found Adele.
"RING, RING, RING..." It truly was a case of ask and you shall receive. Just as Noah Reyes had that thought, his phone began to ring.
It was Deon Myers calling.
Noah Reyes eagerly pressed the answer button.
"Leader, we've found out. Miss Adele is indeed not in T City anymore. She was sent on a business trip by her sister-in-law but will return in the next few days. So she definitely hasn't taken the young master and gone into hiding."
Noah Reyes's hand tightened around the phone. This news was the best he'd heard in days—at least, the best in the past few.
"Keep searching. Find out where Billy is first." He wanted to know where Glades Horne had hidden his son.
"Yes."
After Noah Reyes hung up the phone, his previous irritation was swept away.
Fortunately, the elites of his information department were top-notch at gathering intel. They had only arrived yesterday, and in just one day, they had managed to discover Adele Horne's whereabouts, finally breaking through the defenses laid by Glades Horne and Hansen Ruiz.
A faint smile couldn't help but touch his lips.
Glades Horne was strong, but he—Noah Reyes—was stronger!
If he hadn't summoned his elites, this mighty dragon would have been toyed with by mere shrimps.
Now, no one could make a fool of him again.
His wife... he would soon be able to hold her in his arms.
Noah Reyes thought it was Glades Horne who purposefully kept the news of Adele Horne and her son hidden, but he didn't know it was actually Adele's doing. His journey to win back his wife, alas, was still a long one.
「Syrena Arts.」
Call after call came to the secretary's desk, all claiming to be looking for Julia Bluen.
"Is President Bluen there? I need to speak with her immediately! What on earth has been happening with your company lately? The products you sent us have good and defective items mixed together, and the quantities are incorrect too!" an angry customer with the surname Deng exclaimed.
Anne Jones quickly replied with a placating smile, "President Deng, I'm sorry, our President Bluen isn't in right now. Please don't be angry. I'll notify her and ask her to call you, alright? I'm not entirely clear on the production line issues. Or, perhaps I could have our Vice President Lee call you?"
"Don't even mention your Vice President Lee! I called her first, and she flat-out denied everything, claiming you didn't mix good and defective products. She even accused us of slandering your company! When I mentioned the short shipment, she insisted she personally counted the items and there could only be extras, not shortages. Her attitude was atrocious! Has everyone at Syrena Arts taken leave of their senses lately? Vice President Lee has become so shameless and irresponsible!" President Deng's tone grew more heated; he was clearly very upset.
Anne Jones frowned slightly. Would Vice President Lee really treat customers this way?
"If it weren't for President Bluen's sake, and our many years of cooperation, I would have returned the goods for your inspection and demanded compensation, instead of just filing a complaint! Secretary Jones, have President Bluen call me immediately!" President Deng then hung up.
Anne Jones didn't dare delay for a moment and immediately called Julia Bluen.
How long had she even been at work today? And already, she was dealing with one customer complaint after another, all about similar issues.
She had been with Syrena Arts for four years and had never experienced customer complaints being directed straight to the General Manager. It wasn't that Syrena Arts' products had never received complaints; there had been minor issues in the past. However, those complaints were usually directed to Vice President Lee, who always handled them properly.
This time, why was Vice President Lee acting this way?
Anne Jones also felt that Vice President Lee had been acting a bit strangely over the past week, often zoning out or looking preoccupied with worry. When Anne asked if something was on her mind, she would just say it was nothing.
