Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 727 - 726: Love Rival (4)_1
Noah Reyes held a large bouquet of roses before Adele Horne, gazing at her as he said gently, "These flowers are for you."
Adele Horne snorted, not taking the flowers. "Can these flowers be eaten?" she retorted.
Noah Reyes's dark eyes stared at her. Of course, flowers can't be eaten.
"Will these flowers wilt?" Adele Horne asked again, her tone frigid. The two children in the car had never heard her speak in such a cold, emotionless way.
Noah Reyes's dark eyes remained fixed on her. They're real flowers, so of course they'll wilt. Only artificial flowers wouldn't.
"Once flowers wilt, they're thrown out, meaning they become trash. Did you block my way early this morning just to give me a huge pile of garbage?"
Noah Reyes arched a brow but said nothing.
"Mr. Reyes, I'm sorry, but I'm not a garbage collector. So, as for these flowers, give them to whomever you please. I still have to take the children to school. Please move aside," Adele Horne said coldly, then turned to get back into her car.
Noah Reyes suddenly reached out, grabbing her arm. With a hard pull, he yanked her back in front of him. He held the flowers in one hand, while his other arm tightened around Adele's waist. They were once again in close proximity, each aware of the other's scent and body heat.
"Adele, give me a chance to explain!" Noah Reyes commanded, his domineering tone unintentional.
Adele Horne forcefully shoved his strong physique away. Panicked inwardly, she forced herself to remain composed, glaring at him coldly. A faint blush crept onto her pretty face. When he had pulled her into his arms, her heart had unexpectedly sped up, throwing her into further disarray.
"I already said it was an accident; you don't need to explain anything. Mr. Reyes, it's getting late. I don't want my children to be late for school. Please, get out of the way." After speaking, Adele Horne slipped back into her car, glaring coldly at Noah Reyes through the window.
Noah Reyes tapped on her car window, but she refused to roll it down.
Noah Reyes then pushed the flowers through an open rear window to Jimmy Horne, saying, "Billy, hold these flowers for Mommy. They're from Daddy to Mommy."
Jimmy Horne didn't take them.
"Close the window," Adele Horne commanded.
Ivan Horne immediately snatched the bouquet and hurled it viciously at Noah Reyes's face. Then, he quickly rolled up the window, yelling, "Auntie, smash his car out of the way!" He was quite the little terror!
Noah Reyes caught the bouquet of roses. He had only bought flowers twice in his entire life, both times for Adele Horne. Unfortunately, neither attempt to give them to her had succeeded.
Hearing Ivan Horne's childish outburst, Noah Reyes couldn't help but scoff inwardly. Glades Horne is cunning, and his wife is certainly no simple woman. Ivan, having inherited the traits of both, is even more formidable. For someone so young, he already has a ruthless side.
"Adele, I told you I wouldn't give up," Noah Reyes said in a low voice, standing outside the car.
Adele Horne ignored him.
After a glance at his son in the back seat, Noah Reyes returned to his car, backed it up to the side of the road, and let Adele Horne's car pass.
His son had to get to school, and he didn't want him to be late either.
Once Adele Horne's car had passed, Noah Reyes slowly turned his car around and followed her, silently escorting his son to school.
When will I ever be able to take my son to school as his father?
"Mommy, that creepy uncle is still following us," Jimmy Horne said to Adele Horne, noticing Noah Reyes trailing closely behind them.
Ivan Horne also glanced back, then suggested to Adele Horne, "Auntie, let's lose him."
Adele Horne didn't answer. She floored the accelerator.
Noah Reyes immediately hit the gas, chasing after her.
Seeing Adele Horne driving faster and faster, he grew worried. He accelerated, caught up to her car, rolled down his window, and growled at her while still driving, "Don't drive so fast!"
Adele Horne completely ignored him. Like he has any right to tell me what to do!
"Don't gamble with the children's lives!" Noah Reyes roared this time. Street racing might be thrilling, but it was incredibly dangerous. She had two small children in her car; what if there was an accident?
Adele Horne's expression tightened, and she immediately reduced her speed. But this made her even angrier because Noah Reyes had used her vulnerability to admonish her. That damn man! He vanished for years, so why reappear now?
Soon, the two cars arrived at the school, one behind the other.
Adele Horne escorted the two children into the school. She then instructed their teachers that only members of the Horne Family were permitted to pick up the children, and no one else. If anyone attempted to take the children by force, they were to call the police.
Once the children disappeared from sight, led by their teacher, Adele Horne left for Huayi Company, with Noah Reyes still trailing her.
「In front of Huayi Company, Gio Coleman sat in his car, quietly awaiting Adele Horne's arrival.」
People at the company had told him that Assistant Horne's business trip had ended and she would be back at the office today.
Beside him lay another bouquet, though these were flowers suitable for a friend, not roses symbolizing romantic love—he wouldn't be too hasty. Next to the bouquet was a thoughtful breakfast he had gotten takeout from the hotel, prepared for Adele Horne.
Seeing Adele Horne's car approach slowly, he smiled, grabbed the bouquet, and got out of his car to meet hers.
Noah Reyes, following Adele Horne, felt his eyes darken. Something's up!
"Adele," Gio Coleman said with a smile.
Adele Horne stopped her car. Once the security guard opened the company gate, she immediately drove in. She then instructed the security guard to allow only Gio Coleman to enter and to bar Noah Reyes from entry.
Gio Coleman noticed Noah Reyes following Adele Horne, and his own eyes darkened imperceptibly.
Noah Reyes slammed on his brakes, jumped out of his car, and in a few large strides, stood before Gio Coleman. His gaze was hard and cold as he stared icily at Gio Coleman and the bouquet—which he found utterly offensive—demanding in a frigid, overbearing tone, "Who are you?"
A love rival? This man looks suave, drives a good car—he must be some rich young master. And he's young, about Adele's age. If he's also pursuing Adele, won't that make winning her back even harder for me?
No way! I absolutely will not allow a rival to snatch Adele from me!
Noah Reyes's face was grim, his eyes like ice, and his words devoid of warmth. To Gio Coleman, he seemed like a walking corpse.
His aggressive demeanor and the chilling aura he exuded made Gio Coleman realize this man was no ordinary person.
"And who are you?" Gio Coleman retorted.
"Stay away from Adele. She's my woman!" Noah Reyes had no intention of answering Gio Coleman's question, merely issuing a cold warning.
She's my woman. Anyone who dares lay a finger on her, I'll castrate them! Let's see them try to compete with me for her then!
