Chapter 726: Chapter 725: Having a Love Rival (3)_1

The old lady smiled and did not answer right away.

"Grandma, taking care of children is really bothersome, even with a nanny, it still feels bothersome. If Grandma is willing to help us with that, then we’ll have a child," Julia understood the deeper meaning in Glades’s words and chimed in as well.

The old lady then chuckled heartily.

This couple always acted in concert, their only desire was for her to take good care of herself and live even longer.

"Mila would be very happy to help you watch the children; her beauty salon has become very stable now," the old lady shifted the topic to Mila Anderson. Mila’s beauty salon, after years of her dedicated management, had expanded and earned a great reputation in the industry. She was now in a position where she did not need to be at the salon every day.

However, to avoid constant contact with Gian Horne, Mila would still go to the beauty salon after her children left for the day.

"Grandma, we just like it when you help us with the children."

Glades and Julia said in unison.

The old lady still chuckled. "If you are planning to have a second child, then go ahead and have one. Grandma doesn’t know if she can still... Glades, Julia, Grandma is feeling a bit tired, let’s sit down." The old lady didn’t want to dwell on the topic any longer and thus changed the subject.

She really was tired; it was probably because she hadn’t been active for a long time.

The couple then helped the old lady to a stone bench under a tree to sit down, and they too sat down beside her to keep her company and chat.

Looking around at the beautiful scenery of the Backyard, the old lady suddenly let out a deep sigh.

"Grandma, what’s wrong?" Julia asked with immediate concern.

The old lady looked at Julia, then at Glades Horne, and spoke with a sigh, "Can you two do Grandma a favor?"

"What favor?"

"Convince your parents not to get a divorce, okay? Your father has already repented, Pheobe Rogers has gotten the fate she deserved, James has come to terms with everything and is likely to have good news with Rebecca Hughes soon, your mother... Sigh, your father is my son, a mother always sides with her son, and I really do not want to see them get a divorce."

As she spoke, the old lady’s heart ached.

She used to understand the reasons very well and was sympathetic toward her daughter-in-law, but now she felt her time was not far off and she wanted to be selfish for once. She did not want to see her son, who was over sixty, go through a divorce.

They already had children and grandchildren; a divorce at this stage would be unfortunate.

"Grandma, we’ve kept silent about it. Mom can decide on her own," Glades Horne said somberly, leaning towards his mother when it came to his parents’ affairs.

Their parents’ hearts had parted ways long before. Even though his father had repented now, it wasn’t genuine repentance; it was just disappointment in Pheobe Rogers, now that she was in prison. He also felt humiliated at facing a divorce when he was over sixty. At home, unless there was a major issue, his mother would always ignore his father, treating him as a stranger. Glades felt that by ending the marriage, perhaps their relationship wouldn’t have become so strained.

The old lady said no more.

Glades Horne pursed his lips.

After a long while, the old lady took hold of Glades’s and Julia’s hands, saying, "Then, as for Adele’s happiness, as the eldest brother and sister-in-law, you have a responsibility, right? Adele used to be very unpleasant, but she has changed now. Grandma really hopes she can be as happy as you two are."

The couple exchanged looks. They felt an uneasy premonition; so early in the morning, the old lady’s tone sounded almost like a last will and testament.

"Grandma, you always say children and grandchildren have their own blessings, don’t worry, Adele will find her happiness. Grandma, would you like to go out for a walk? You haven’t been to the senior center for a long time. How about I take you there after breakfast to meet your old friends?" Julia said with a smile, changing the subject, not wanting to listen to the old lady’s ominous words early in the morning.

The elderly lady let go of Glades’s hand, took Julia’s with both of hers, and smiled contentedly. "The happiest thing in Grandma’s life is having a sensible and filial granddaughter-in-law like you. Alright, after breakfast, you’ll accompany Grandma for a walk."

Julia breathed a sigh of relief. The fact that the elderly lady was still willing to go out was a good sign.

Inside the house, after the two children had breakfast, Adele took them by the hand and personally escorted them to school.

Once they left the Main House, she glanced outside the villa. Seeing the entrance quiet and devoid of other people, she felt relieved. Then she led the two children to the garage, urging them as they walked, "Both of you, walk a bit faster."

She feared Noah Reyes would come to snatch her son.

Ivan Horne and Jimmy Horne exchanged glances. The two little guys chose to remain silent, hastening their pace. They both had a feeling that Adele seemed to be afraid of something.

The BMW carried the two children out of the Horne Family villa.

Noah Reyes’s car was parked fifty meters away from the villa gate. He was alone!

In his pursuit of his wife, his presence alone was sufficient. He didn’t want his men to follow, as it might pressure his future wife.

Holding a large bouquet of roses, he leaned against the front of his car. Dressed in all black, he was handsome and mysterious, exuding an unattainable aura and a chilly vibe.

The car was also black, a luxurious sedan.

He watched the Horne Family villa’s entrance intently, ready to fix his gaze even on a bird that might fly out.

Seeing the BMW drive out, his expression softened. Looking at the large bouquet of roses in his hands, he was full of confidence.

The previous night, after letting Adele go home with James, he had racked his brains on how to pursue her. Early in the morning, he had pounded on the Flower Shop’s door before it had even opened and purchased a large bouquet of roses. Everyone said that when wooing a woman, one mustn’t skimp on flowers. He hadn’t parked directly in front of the villa, fearing that Adele would not dare to come out if she saw his car.

Adele’s face tensed upon seeing him. He really had appeared again.

Noah Reyes’s car was stopped in the middle of the road, blocking Adele’s way, leaving her no choice but to stop in front of him.

"Adele." Noah Reyes was pleased with his domineering method of blockade. As soon as Adele stopped the car, he immediately walked over to the car window and knocked.

Adele Horne directly opened the car door, stepped out, and said coldly, "Mr. Reyes, may I help you with something?"

The two children in the back seat immediately squeezed together and rolled down the window to look out.

"Huh, Billy, that man looks a lot like you," Ivan Horne, seeing Noah Reyes for the first time, commented curiously.

"It’s because I’m handsome that he likes looking like me," Jimmy Horne responded irritably. His feelings toward Noah Reyes at that moment were complicated. He still harbored some goodwill towards Noah Reyes, but since Noah had mistreated his mom, he didn’t want to feel that way anymore; it was just self-deception.
