Chapter 746: Chapter 745: If You Dare, Say It Again (4)_1

Hearing the noise, Rachel rushed out from the kitchen, forgetting about the eggs she was frying.

The nanny, who hadn’t taken any days off, also came in from outside, where she had been cleaning the courtyard.

"Mom."

"Madam."

Rachel and the nanny both cried out in shock, Rachel rushing over quickly.

Madam Ruiz had severely twisted her waist and then tumbled down the stairs, making matters worse. She lay on the ground in agony, pale-faced and with disheveled hair. Unable to move, she continually cried out in pain, "Ouch... it hurts... it really hurts."

"Mom." Rachel hurried over to help her. Unaware that Madam Ruiz had twisted her waist, her touch made Madam Ruiz cry out, "Rachel, my waist... it’s killing me! Don’t touch me! Call Hansen..." Madam Ruiz’s hand was also injured and aching.

The fall felt as if it had knocked her entire body out of joint. Although she was fully conscious, she was in excruciating pain.

She would almost rather have fainted; then she wouldn’t have to feel the pain of her whole body falling apart.

"Hansen Ruiz!" Rachel, supporting Madam Ruiz in her panic, suddenly let out a lion’s roar towards the upstairs. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Madam Ruiz frowned.

So undignified!

However, Rachel’s tactic was quite effective.

Upstairs, both Hansen Ruiz and Camila Ruiz were startled awake. Father and daughter, wearing only their pajamas, rushed downstairs. Hansen Ruiz’s voice preceded him, "Honey, what’s wrong? What happened? Is it a major earthquake?"

"Mom fell and got hurt!" Rachel Bailey bellowed, her face dark.

"’Rachel, mind your image, you... OUCH, it hurts so much!’ Madam Ruiz couldn’t help but say, seeing her daughter-in-law yelling at her son. But as soon as she spoke, she accidentally pulled at her injured waist and winced in pain.

Rachel blinked. Even at a time like this, her mother-in-law still cared about her image.

"Mom!"

Hansen Ruiz ran down the stairs in a few strides, asking with concern, "Where did you fall?"

"’I’ve fallen all over, and I twisted my waist too. Those damn high heels... Ouch, Hansen, it hurts so bad!’ The old lady began cursing the high heels.

Rachel blinked again. She had advised the old lady not to wear high heels long ago. She didn’t listen, and look, now there’s trouble.

"Let’s take Mom to the hospital for a check-up. Look, her complexion has changed." Naturally, Rachel wouldn’t voice her other thoughts. Seeing her mother-in-law’s face so pale from pain, her heart ached, and she immediately said to Hansen Ruiz.

"Okay." Hansen Ruiz didn’t say much, picked up Madam Ruiz, and started towards the door.

"Hansen, you haven’t changed your clothes..." Madam Ruiz called out softly.

After gently placing his mother in the back seat of the car, Hansen Ruiz went back into the house to change.

Camila Ruiz ran to the back seat of the car, looking with concern at Madam Ruiz. "Grandma, where does it hurt?" she asked. "Camila will blow on it to make it stop hurting."

Her darling granddaughter’s words made Madam Ruiz smile, and suddenly her waist didn’t seem to hurt as much. This girl knows how to care for me. My affection for her hasn’t been in vain.

"Camila, Grandma is fine," Madam Ruiz said with a warm smile, not wanting her little granddaughter to worry.

"But, Grandma, your face looks different than usual." Little Camila climbed into the back seat and reached out with her small hand to touch Madam Ruiz’s face, full of worry.

"Camila, you stay home and play with the nanny; Mommy and Daddy are taking Grandma to the hospital for a check-up," Rachel Bailey said as she came over and lifted her daughter out of the car.

Just then, Julia called.

"Julia, my mother-in-law got hurt. Hansen Ruiz and I are taking her to the hospital for a check-up now. As for the trip, I won’t be able to go," Rachel said apologetically. She had wanted to take her daughter out over the weekend, but with this happening, she no longer had the heart for it.

Seeing the painful expression on her mother-in-law’s face, she guessed her mother-in-law might need to be hospitalized.

"Oh, how badly is your mother-in-law injured? And what about Camila?" Julia asked with concern from the other end of the line.

"Camila..." Rachel looked at her daughter and said, "I’ll have the nanny take care of her for now."

Julia thought for a moment. "Rachel, you and Hansen go ahead and take your mother-in-law to the hospital. Get Camila’s essentials for the trip ready, and I’ll come pick her up later. I’ll take Camila with me. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of my goddaughter."

"That’s fine. I’ve got everything prepared; it’s on the sofa in the Side Hall. When you get here, just go in and get it. Gotta go now." Rachel finished the call, took Camila inside, and instructed the nanny to help Camila change and get her breakfast. She and Hansen Ruiz then hurriedly left home, driving Madam Ruiz to the Valence Group-affiliated hospital.

「Two hours later.」

At the beach.

It was only eight-thirty in the morning, yet the beach was already bustling with visitors.

The sun had risen quite high, its morning rays already carrying a scorching heat, hinting at the simmering summer to come.

Under one of two sun umbrellas, Glades and Julia had settled into two lounge chairs with a small tea table between them. Glades had rented these items from a nearby shop. Bottles of water and some fruit were on the table.

Under the other sun umbrella, there were two more lounge chairs, but they were empty. The children were not under the umbrella; they were all playing in the sand or splashing in the Shallow Water Zone a short distance away.

Camila Ruiz was dressed in a pink swimsuit, her hair in two ponytails, and she held a swimming ring. She squatted on the sand, blankly watching the other children play in the shallow water.

She was worried about Grandma. Grandma had fallen. She wasn’t in the mood to play.

She had wanted to go with Mommy and Daddy to take Grandma to the hospital. However, she also knew she was too young. If she went, not only would she be no help, but Mommy would also have to split her attention to look after her. That’s why she had been so sensible, not crying or fussing, and not insisting on going.

Suddenly, a cloud of sand was thrown her way.

In an instant, her body and head were covered in sand.

"Billy!" Julia called out softly.

Camila Ruiz immediately stood up, turning to glare at Jimmy Horne, who wasn’t far off, flinging sand at her.

"Billy, how could you throw sand at Camila! Your mom and Auntie have taught you countless times that Camila is a girl, your little sister, and as the big brother, you should protect her. But you..." Julia scolded Jimmy a bit before walking over to Camila Ruiz. She crouched down and affectionately brushed the sand off Camila’s body. The sand in her hair would require a shampoo to get out completely.

"I don’t want her to be my sister!" Jimmy Horne showed no sign of remorse.

However, to his surprise, this time Camila didn’t jump up to fight with him.

"Camila, are you unhappy?" Julia lovingly wrapped her arms around Camila Ruiz.

Glades Horne also came over.

Ivan Horne shot Jimmy a stern look. "Camila seems unhappy," he said, then walked over to Camila Ruiz.
