Quick Transmigration: Drama Queen's Daily Life-Chapter 931 - 920: The Villain Mom’s Little One
Although Ye Ran didn’t admit it, she was gaining more and more popularity within the community, and when she took Ye Qiu out, she was no longer as resistant as before. Occasionally, she would even go shopping and buy some beautiful clothes for the mother and child.
When Ye Qiu was one year old, Ye Ran received a letter from the United States.
After two days of silence, she held a grand birthday party for Ye Qiu and took the opportunity to say goodbye to the people in the community.
"Going abroad is good, the education over there is better than ours here." The elderly woman stroked Ye Qiu’s little head reluctantly and said.
"Come back and visit when you have time, and if you experience any grievances at work, don’t endure it. I’ll introduce you to a good job," said another old woman.
"Xiao Hao, say goodbye to your younger sister, remember her," a young mother told her son.
"Auntie, can I write you and my sister letters and send videos?" This was the kid leader of the community, a five-year-old little girl. Because of her protection, none of the kids dared to bully Ye Qiu.
"Sure, Auntie will give you the address and contact information later." Ye Ran’s throat was a bit choked; she hadn’t expected to receive so much kindness from strangers in such a strange place.
"Will you come back in the future?" the little girl continued to ask.
"Yes, we definitely will," Ye Ran replied affirmatively.
Ye Qiu followed her mom to the United States. She knew that from now on, her mom would start her journey of conquest and revenge, and she would also meet a man dedicated to treating her mom well.
When the mother and child arrived in the United States, they were picked up by a private driver right off the plane and were dropped off at an apartment building.
Since moving here, Ye Ran became unprecedentedly busy. Sometimes Ye Qiu would go several days without seeing her. She was taken care of by a Chinese nanny, and naturally didn’t have the chance to meet the man who admired her mom.
But heaven never disappoints a person who works hard. After waiting for several months, she finally waited for Ye Ran to finish a case, and then have a dinner with her colleagues. This time it was a family-style gathering, so Ye Qiu was dressed up beautifully to go out. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Ye, is this your daughter?" Colleagues looked at the little bun in amazement because Ye Qiu was adorable and not afraid of strangers. Her bright and clear eyes curiously looked at everyone, making them all feel restless.
"Yes." Ye Ran candidly admitted.
So Ye Qiu smiled and sweetly said, "Hello, uncles and aunties."
"Does she speak English?"
Ye Ran was surprised because she hadn’t taught her, but maybe the nanny did, she decided to give her a raise.
"Auntie, can I hold her?" One bold white woman eagerly looked at Ye Qiu.
Ye Qiu then stretched out her hands, causing those who didn’t get a chance to speak to feel envious.
A group of young people gathered around the child, leaving Ye Ran’s side open, not knowing when a handsome, poised man had stood there. He looked just over thirty, with an elite demeanor.
"You’re married? I never heard you mention it," he asked nonchalantly.
"No."
Hearing this, the man didn’t probe further. A young woman bringing a child alone to a foreign country must have her own story. Although curious, he knew it would be impolite to ask given their current relationship.
Both being handsome and attractive with powerful presence, they quickly caught the attention of the cheerfully playing Ye Qiu.
"Auntie, who is that person beside mom?" she asked, pretending to be confused, "Is he your boss?"
"Why do you say he’s our boss?" The young white woman laughed as she looked at her.
"Because he’s very handsome!" Ye Qiu said matter-of-factly.
The white woman was taken aback, not expecting such a young child to judge by appearance. Though it’s true Huo is very handsome, he’s also quite intimidating, isn’t he?
"Aren’t you afraid of him? He’s quite fierce!" someone teased.
"Nope." Saying this, Ye Qiu trotted over to Huo Xian’s side, looking up at him.
Seeing the man bewildered and with no intention of holding her, she pouted, "Uncle, are you sure you want me to talk to you like this? My neck is very tired."
When Ye Ran tried to pick her up, she resolutely refused, "No, I want the handsome uncle to hold me."
Huo Xian laughed, not his usual sly laugh, but one that was very carefree and gentle, making the colleagues around feel as if they had seen a ghost.
He bent down, holding her as she wished, looking at her with amusement, "Is it because I look handsome that you want me to hold you?"
Ye Qiu nodded unequivocally, not hiding her nature of loving good-looking people, "Uncle, my name is Ye Qiu, what’s yours?"
"My name is Huo Xian, you can call me Uncle Huo."
Hearing him say his name, Ye Qiu felt assured, that’s him.
"Uncle Huo," she called happily, then leaned her head against his shoulder with a very dependent look.
Ye Ran was a bit surprised; it was the first time she saw her daughter being so attached to someone other than her, why?
A bit embarrassed, she said, "This child is a bit willful, President Huo, I’ll take her."
"It’s okay." Huo Xian showed no intention of letting go, "I seem to have a good connection with Ye Qiu, besides she’s not heavy. If you really feel uneasy, go and grill some food for me and the little one to eat."
Seeing her daughter showing no intention of getting down, she nodded and said to Ye Qiu, "No mischief, understand?"
"Okay, I’m a good child, I won’t make trouble."
When Ye Ran walked away, Ye Qiu started chatting with Huo Xian: "Uncle Huo, are you a bad boss?"
"Why do you ask that?" Huo Xian was puzzled.
"Because only bad bosses exploit their employees, I often can’t see my mom for several days."
Huo Xian listened to her childish voice and chuckled, "You understand that?"
"Because I’m smart, Uncle Huo, could you not make my mom so tired in the future?" Ye Qiu adorably bargained.
Huo Xian didn’t fall for it, instead, he asked, "If your mom doesn’t work hard, she won’t have money to support Little Ye Qiu or to buy you pretty clothes."
"Then can I go to mom’s company? I promise to be good and not make trouble, just as long as I can see Mom," she said, a bit pitifully.
Huo Xian was genuinely a bit moved, considering the nurseries and children’s rooms some companies have. Perhaps his company could set one up too? To avoid being labeled as cold-blooded and even little kids calling him a bad boss.
