Raised From The Wild-Chapter 390: Return of the Dragon Lord
After dinner that evening, Princess Amaya went to her room and told Layla she did not want to be disturbed.
As she did not want to expose her identity as a princess, her guards occupied the rooms in front of her and on both sides of her suite, while Leon and Vaquez were in the second room inside the suite and Layla in the third room.
Her suite was located on the third floor, and since people were still afraid to travel at that time, they were the only guests at the hotel.
Princess Amaya logged into her laptop and navigated to PhantomHaven, a website she had not visited for a long time.
The website prompted for a user ID and she typed: Venus. She entered a series of complicated characters and numbers when asked for a password.
She set her status to offline as she had no intention of communicating with the other members of Hacker Alliance. She checked the missions listed on the board, but she could not find the one for Marx.
She picked up her cell phone and hurriedly sent a message to Ren.
Ren replied in less than two seconds.
Ren: Sis, the mission just vanished. I thought someone had already accepted it, but it’s not in the accepted missions either.
Amaya: Maybe the Skylars from Usturia did something about it.
Ren: Yeah, you are right, Sis.
Amaya: Go to sleep. How come you are still up when the sun is about to rise there?
Ren suddenly went offline.
Amaya: "..."
’That boy, he went offline just like that. Was he afraid that I would scold him?’
Princess Amaya opened her luggage and took out a black outfit from a secret compartment at the bottom.
She swiftly changed into the sleek black outfit, ensuring she blended into the darkness of the night. She slipped out of her room through the open window, the cool air brushing against her skin. Making her way to the roof, she navigated her path with practiced ease and precision. Upon reaching the edge, she leaped into the welcoming embrace of the towering tree, its branches shrouded in shadows.
Amaya leaped from the tree and gracefully touched down on the street just outside the hotel. A sleek, polished black car was conveniently parked nearby. It was the same car she had arranged to rent, and she had specifically requested the rental company to have it waiting outside the hotel for her.
Using her smartphone, she entered the passcode to unlock the car door. The passcode had been given to her upon completing the full payment for the rental. The vehicle she had rented was a spacious SUV. Inside the SUV, was a sleek black motorcycle.
Princess Amaya did not bother to turn on the car’s GPS. She knew where she was going.
She ventured onto the highway and, upon reaching an intersection, made a left turn, following a narrow path that wound its way into the dense woods. She carefully parked her car in a concealed location behind a thick cluster of shrubs.
Shortly after, a sleek motorcycle glided down the highway, its rider donning a striking all-black ensemble and helmet. The motorcycle then smoothly veered off the exit ramp, leading towards a twisting road that ascended the hill.
...
Under the cloak of midnight, a mysterious figure stealthily scaled the towering fence of the grand mansion. The figure possessed a lithe and imposing stature. Clad in black trousers and a long-sleeved ebony top, it seemed to seamlessly blend into the darkness, rendering even the most vigilant guard oblivious to its presence.
The figure seemed familiar with the layout of the villa and was able to evade the surveillance cameras easily. With calculated precision, it ascended the balcony on the western side of the villa and skillfully pried open the sliding door, gaining unauthorized entry.
Despite being equipped with a state-of-the-art alarm system, the door’s security device appeared to be malfunctioning at that particular moment.
The figure entered the bedroom of the Defense Minister, who was still in a coma in the hospital. From the bedroom, it entered the study though the secret door which was opened by pressing a switch hidden behind the wedding photo of the Defense Minister and his wife.
In the pitch-black room, the figure moved with ease, unaffected by the darkness. This was made possible by the special contact lenses it wore, allowing it to see clearly in the absence of light.
After quickly scanning the room, it used its gloved hand to lift the hem of the sleeve that covered its left wrist to reveal an ordinary-looking watch.
"ExZee, can you connect to the network and access the server?" Princess Amaya whispered into the tiny mouthpiece disguised as a mole on on her upper right lip.
She was also wearing an earpiece hidden inside her ear.
"Yes, Princess. I have already accessed the server and copying the data. But, I only have a minute before their security system discovers me."
"I’ll buy you twenty minutes more."
Princess Amaya took her cell phone from the pocket of her pants. She typed a series of letters and numbers into the small screen. She hacked into Black’s security system and delivered them a trojan horse as a diversion.
While the Black security team was busy fighting off the hacker, Princess Amaya started checking out the drawers and shelves in the study. Still, she did not find anything interesting, until her gaze caught sight of a small vault behind a book shelf.
"ExZee, can you open this, vault?" Princess Amaya asked cautiously.
"I can’t, Princess. I have decoded the passcode but you need to press the button manually to open it." The AI assistant then recited a series of numbers while Princess Amaya pressed the corresponding buttons.
The vault door slowly opened, revealing a dazzling sight within. Nestled inside was a small, intricate microchip encased in transparent square glass. Brilliant red beams danced and flickered around the object, casting an otherworldly glow in the dimly lit vault.
The red beams were fatal. Any disturbance would trigger the alarm. Removing the glass casing that contained the chip would trigger the alarm. That was what Princess Amaya deduced by just looking at the vault.
The Princess paused for a long time.
"ExZee can you disable the protective mechanism inside the vault?"
"I can’t, Princess. There are multiple layers of security and I need time. We only have less then ten minutes left. The first layer is the laser beams. The glass casing is emitting a poison that could kill with contact. The microchip is also a mini bomb that would self-destruct once triggered and destroy everything within a radius of two meters."
Princess Amaya sighed. She did not want to give up, but they are running out of time. Maybe she could come back and steal it another time.
As she reached out to close the metal door of the vault, a sudden jolt shot through her body as a big hand seized her wrist in a vice-like grip.
