Fengyu looked at his spells which he had gained over the years.
Over this time he also experimented with the panel and realised that he could direct the panel’s way of showing things, which is why he changed it slightly.
After experimenting with his spells, he managed to find a way to sneak the Wood Recovery Spell and Reproduction Organ Dissolving Spell between the others, making both solid spells.
Because he found no replacement for the Spiritual Absorption Spell, it finally got one full expertise for every duck that was raised, by a total amount of 240 over a year, it naturally allowed his spell to grow by a full 240 expertise.
The other 480 were split differently – the split was easy, everyone got 120 expertise. The Wood Recovery Spell and Reproduction Organ Dissolving Spell had reached the peak of the Entry stage before he introduced them into the mechanism.
Naturally he used the last dissolving spell every time, only making the process longer sometimes.
Why?
Because although male ducks’ reproduction organs didn’t contain immense vitality like that of female ducks, by cutting their bloodline, he managed to keep the bloodline of those high-quality ducks to himself.
When it comes to business, Fengyu would be ruthless.
He wouldn’t allow anyone to try and raise the same ducks.
Though his move had lowered the price by half a spirit stone. After all, male ducks were always bought including their ability to reproduce. But the added 10% vitality raised the price of the female ducks by half a spirit stone. Balancing loss and gain, the price of the ducks remained at 10 spirit stones per duck.
He now named the spells gained from his ducks "Inherited Spells".
In the past year, four silver feathered ducks were born, giving 100 expertise every year, resulting in him now having 800, quite close to the next stage!
This would be the first spell reaching the Major Accomplishment stage, but...
He still felt like his comprehension was more than one level lower than that of his normal spells.
In addition, with Spring Rain, he gained another inherited spell.
But this spell directly absorbed his expertise from the Small Rain Cloud Spell, adding on top of that the 100 spell expertise.
The past month after Spring Rain reached adulthood he asked him about mating, and Spring Rain refused vehemently.
Later Fengyu could only attribute it to the bloodline level being too different.
Silver Feather didn’t mind and continued to give birth. Because ducks have lifelong partners, even after Silver Feather reaches the next stage, she won’t suddenly refuse her mate and continue, which is why Fengyu didn’t worry.
To have Spring Rain comply, Fengyu would likely have to pair him with a female Spiritual Duck, also a Spirit Duck this time probably. And her bloodline would also have to reach the high grade at least.
Looking at Spring Rain’s bloodline grade, Fengyu guessed that a high grade might not be enough and a peak grade might be needed.
But how could he gain one such duck so soon?
He actually had an idea...
"Spring Rain seems to have been born from a mutation, or a bloodline reversion.
In the books I read occasionally, there is a case described where beasts can indeed reverse their bloodline when there are enough triggers around.
Spring Rain... might’ve had his bloodline reversed at birth because various situations triggered his parent when he was conceived.
Although my attempts over the past month weren’t successful, I should continue trying to do so."
Thinking of this, he took out a small notebook – his experimentation log.
< Day 1, using Wood Recovery Spell during conception, no success >
< Day 4, using Spring Rain Cloud Spell during conception, no success >
< Day 10, using Vitality Recovery Spell during conception, no success but resulting egg is more stable >
< Day 19, using Wood Recovery Spell again during conception again, no success >
< Day 25, using Silver Feather Spell during conception, no success >
He looked at it and shook his head, "Experiments need a longer time for proper evaluation.
Let’s make a goal – for the next year, without exception, I will use the Wood Recovery Spell during conception.
If I am fortunate, I might be able to get a wood bloodline Spiritual Duck!
The experiment with Wood Recovery should be prolonged when even the slightest of results can be seen."
Fengyu knew that the success rate of such an experiment was extremely low, but only by taking the chance could he potentially gain a duck with wood element!
Since he had talent with the wood element, he guessed that the combination of an inherited spell and a normal spell could increase his comprehension of wood by at least half a level, which would be a huge improvement.
Regardless, there didn’t seem to be any loss in doing so, so he was very willing to try it out!
Cleaning up everything, he told Silver Feather to look over the ducks while he himself took the cart with twenty ducks, walking out with Zimu in the cart overlooking them.
It’s been a year again, and today was the Festival once more, so naturally he would go back and sell his ducks!
Outside, right as he thought, Ming and Ling were waiting for him.
"Senior brother," Ling called out.
"Ling’er, I hope you didn’t have to wait for long," Fengyu smiled as he greeted her, then he turned and greeted Ming, "Little Ming, you’ve grown quite a bit this year! And your spiritual power has an earthy smell, it seems your talent in earth spells is quite good, else you wouldn’t be head deep in earth," Fengyu chuckled.
"Thank you for your compliment, senior brother!" Ming cupped his hands, a happy look on his face.
"What about me, senior brother?" Ling’er asked for praise too.
"Haha, you mainly cultivate a water art, how could there be any smell around you? But I’m sure your talent in water arts is deep and that you’re an expert in the Small Rain Cloud Spell!"
"Hehe, senior brother, don’t be scared when you see a waterfall falling in our field one day!" Ling wanted to brag but stopped when Ming looked at her with a scolding face.
She stretched her tongue and made fun of him, before leading her car to drive alongside Fengyu’s.
