Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 532: Fingers Intertwined 2
There were five people sitting in the living room, but four of them were on the same side, leaving Sophia Wood feeling somewhat isolated and helpless by herself.
"I know exactly what kind of person my Lily is, but the others, I’m not sure about." By "others," she was clearly referring to Easton Holmes, who was sitting right there, and she was speaking the plain truth because she really didn’t understand him at all.
"You don’t know him, but I do."
As soon as Sophia said this, Lily immediately understood who her mom was referring to. Before her mom could even finish speaking, she quickly jumped in ahead of everyone else.
As soon as those words were spoken, the other people present reacted instantly, especially Easton Holmes, who was holding Lily’s hand; as soon as Sophia finished speaking, Lily felt her hand being held even tighter.
Christopher Turner and Michael Linton didn’t have much of a reaction; they just looked at Lily in surprise, then both turned their attention to Sophia.
Compared to the two men, Sophia’s reaction was much more intense. She had been bottling up her anger for days, and Lily’s words were like gasoline on a fire, instantly igniting her fury. "You say you understand him after knowing him for just a few days, while you and Henry Thompson have known each other for..."
"Could you not mention that man to me again? That man has nothing to do with me anymore." Before Sophia could finish her sentence, Lily unceremoniously interrupted her.
She just couldn’t understand why her mom kept bringing up Henry Thompson in front of her. Did she really want to force her into that miserable situation?
What exactly was her mom thinking?
Thinking about how Sophia kept trying to push her together with Henry Thompson, Lily felt particularly irritated. Not caring whether Easton and Michael were present, she turned to look at Sophia with annoyance.
After a brief pause, she continued, "I am now married to this man called Easton Holmes. Whether you agree or not, we are already legally married. No matter how you object, I will not separate from him."
After saying this, she squeezed his hand in return.
Christopher was sitting right next to her. As soon as Lily finished speaking, he noticed Sophia’s face turned really ugly. Worried she might lose control and ruin everything, he quickly tugged at her sleeve before she could speak.
"Don’t make a scene, there are guests here," he reminded her in a low voice as he pulled her sleeve.
Upon hearing Christopher’s reminder, half of Sophia’s anger dissipated instantly. She glanced sideways at Michael sitting nearby, and any remaining anger vanished entirely.
Easton took a deep look at Lily sitting beside him, then followed her gaze to look at Sophia. His face was serious and earnest as he said, "Mom! I know my mom’s uproar at your house upset you a few days ago. Here, I want to apologize on her behalf."
As he spoke, he released her hand and then stood up from the sofa. Under the puzzled gaze of the others, he turned to Sophia and gave a deep bow.
Witnessing this, Christopher was taken aback and quickly stood up. He strode towards Easton, who was bowing to Sophia, and helped him up with both hands, saying, "That’s not necessary; it’s really no big deal."
He had long since accepted this son-in-law in his heart, and he was extremely pleased with him.
