Chapter 552: Chapter 552: As Long As You Two Are Happy

Michael Linton and Easton Holmes went to the Turner Family to discuss the marriage. Although Callix Linton stayed at home, his heart had already gone with them to the Turners’ house.

The moment they left home, he sat in the living room, entering a long wait.

Finally seeing Michael return, he asked lots of questions, non-stop until now, yet he remained full of energy.

"Do you believe it if I say I’m a Prophet?"

Learning from Michael that everything had been settled with Lily Turner’s parents, Callix Linton’s heart, which had been hanging all night, finally returned to its place, and a weight was lifted from his chest.

He is now extremely relaxed, so much so that he’s joking with his grandson-in-law.

"Pfft!"

Before Easton Holmes could say anything, Lily Turner couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing the moment Callix finished speaking, "Grandpa! You must have been sent by monkeys to make us laugh."

Because of Callix’s joke, Lily Turner was no longer as shy as before. Since coming back, she’s felt much more at ease.

"Heh..."

To Michael Linton, Lily’s words were hilarious, and the usually serious Michael couldn’t help but laugh out loud, though he quickly stifled his laughter.

Easton Holmes was already accustomed to the way Lily and Callix spoke, only turning to glance at her sitting beside him, without any excess reaction.

"How do you know? Are you in league with the monkeys?" Feeling good and light-hearted, Callix was happier than ever.

Callix was unusually happy this evening, as Lily had noticed earlier, though she wasn’t surprised. She knew it was all because the matter between Easton and her had been firmly settled.

But things didn’t go as well as he imagined. If he knew the real reason they came back, she couldn’t imagine how he’d react.

By then, he surely wouldn’t be happy. As for whether he’d get angry, she dared not make a quick judgment now.

"Grandpa! I’m definitely not in league with the monkeys because I’m in league with your grandson." Lily said as she hooked onto Easton’s arm, seeking an ally in him to cover for her in case she couldn’t make up a story later.

Easton looked down at the hands wrapped around his arm and instantly understood her meaning, a barely noticeable smile appeared on his lips, "I can testify to that; she’s definitely not in league with the monkeys."

If she were in league with the monkeys, then he’d be the monkey, and he didn’t want to be the hairy monkey.

"What do you two mean? That I’m in league with the monkeys?" Callix, hearing them, took it as if that’s what they meant, yet he wasn’t unhappy; instead, he chuckled happily.

Upon hearing this, Lily quickly waved her hands, "That’s not what we meant, don’t get it wrong."

Though she said that, she couldn’t control the urge to laugh.

"Well, if I’m in league with the monkeys, so be it, as long as you two are happy." Callix said, standing up, "I’m going to rest; you all feel free."

At this hour, for an old man who doesn’t stay up late, it’s already very late.

For his health, Mr. Linton generally doesn’t stay up late at night; he goes to bed early and gets up early, living a very healthy routine.

After Callix left, Lily Turner and Easton Holmes also got up to head upstairs, but Michael Linton called out to Easton, "Easton! Wait a minute."
