Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 562 Ulterior Motives in Greetings
Lily Turner changed her clothes, then quickly tidied herself up before leaving the room and heading downstairs.
As she went downstairs, she silently prayed in her heart, hoping that her mother would refuse to come here with Lucas Zimmerman.
However, the situation did not develop as she anticipated, and after that, she could not control how things unfolded.
When Lily rushed downstairs as fast as she could, Sophia Wood and Alice Turner had already been brought back by Lucas Zimmerman. The two of them were standing not far inside the entrance of the living room, politely exchanging pleasantries with Callix Linton.
Seeing Lily approaching, the three people engaged in polite conversation all turned their heads toward her. She quickly glanced at the three of them, finally fixing her gaze on Sophia Wood, where worry was mixed with a deep sense of blame.
"What do you want from me?"
Recalling Sophia’s heartless actions the previous night, Lily found it difficult to call her "mom." If it weren’t for Callix Linton standing beside them, she would have already told her heartless mother to leave.
What could her mother want from her?
Either to scold her, criticize her, or find ways to harm the child in her belly. Last night, she had even prepared the medication.
If Easton Holmes hadn’t shown up in time, the baby in her belly would have already been a pool of blood.
Sophia wasn’t blind or deaf; she could not only see Lily’s indifference toward her but also hear Lily’s dissatisfaction and resentment.
She quickly closed her eyes to calm herself down before responding, "Didn’t you say you weren’t feeling well when you left last night? Your sister and I came to see you. Is your stomach okay now?"
Although she spoke words of concern, her expression bore no relation to genuine care.
Before Lily could respond, Callix Linton spoke up with concern, "Girl! You..."
"Grandpa! Rest assured, with you watching over us, your great-grandson will not be in any danger." When Callix spoke, he was filled with worry and care. Lily knew he was reacting to what Sophia had just said—something that wasn’t even real, so why add unnecessary concern?
Even if those situations were real, she couldn’t let the old man worry alongside them.
After she finished speaking, she shifted her gaze toward the one who caused the trouble.
She only glanced briefly before turning her gaze to her sister, Alice Turner. At this moment, her face looked much better. "Sis! Don’t you have work today?"
Her sister wasn’t someone who took a leave easily. If it weren’t for her mother’s strong insistence, her sister wouldn’t have taken leave to come here and make a fuss.
"I took a half-day off."
As Alice spoke, she stepped toward Lily, her face full of concern.
Once out of Sophia and Callix’s line of sight, Alice gave Lily a meaningful look. Having known each other for so many years, the sisters understood each other well. The look from her sister was instantly understood by Lily.
"Oh!"
Lily let out a soft "oh" in response to Alice.
"Lily’s mom! Please sit down. Whatever it is, let’s talk while seated." While the two sisters were silently communicating, Callix spoke again. He had just observed that Sophia’s visit to Lily was definitely not as straightforward as it seemed.
Something must have happened last night between his grandson and granddaughter-in-law after they said they would stay but then returned. From the current situation, he dared to say it wasn’t a pleasant matter.
His grandson hadn’t told him the truth, probably out of fear of causing him worry.
Sophia looked at the two sisters standing to the side, then at Callix, hesitating before finally sitting down on the sofa. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Seeing this, Lily unconsciously clenched her fists at her sides, only to have one of them suddenly grabbed by someone else’s hand.
She instinctively turned her head to the side and immediately saw Alice’s concerned face. Lily gave a silent smile in return, offering a reassuring look to her sister.
