Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 847: You Really Need Some Peace and Quiet
Callix Linton didn’t immediately respond to Amelia Linton’s words but stared at her without blinking. When his gaze made her uncomfortable, he slowly opened his mouth: "As long as you don’t bother my dear grandson and granddaughter-in-law again, I promise I won’t interfere with you, otherwise, I will!"
He continued to stare at her without blinking, his face devoid of any expression.
Those familiar with Callix knew that his current demeanor meant he was extremely angry.
Amelia, although not living with her elderly father, was aware of his style and temperament. She realized her father was now very angry.
"There will come a time when both of you will regret this."
She muttered a sentence, then turned and walked towards the cafeteria.
Easton Holmes and Callix Linton both heard Amelia Linton’s muttering, but neither of them responded or paid her any heed. Both were extremely disappointed in her. Though angry, they didn’t want to deal with her any longer.
The situation was seen clearly by Evelyn Taylor, who was hiding in a corner. When Amelia followed Easton Holmes and Lily Turner out, Evelyn also came along.
She thought Amelia would have a major confrontation with Lily Turner, but what she didn’t expect was that not only did Amelia not confront Lily, but she was also reprimanded by the suddenly appearing Callix.
What surprised her even more was that Amelia quickly retreated in defeat.
Seeing Amelia return to the cafeteria, looking deflated like a wilting plant, Evelyn’s newly reignited hope quickly vanished. She thought she could use Amelia to drive Lily away, but the result made her feel deeply disappointed.
Now, she truly had no hope because of that woman’s background, as her parents and brother sided with that woman.
And not to mention him, who had already become inseparable from that woman.
Now everyone stood by that woman’s side, leaving her utterly hopeless.
"Evelyn! What are you doing hiding here? Playing hide and seek?" Hearing Callix’s voice, Evelyn, immersed in her thoughts, suddenly snapped back to reality, realizing that Callix had approached her at some point.
Feeling guilty after hearing Callix ask her this, she hurriedly stepped out of the corner, "I’m too old to play hide and seek. I just wanted some peace and quiet; it’s too noisy inside."
Because of her guilty conscience, she didn’t dare to look directly at Callix.
"You really need a good moment of peace."
Callix wasn’t easily fooled. Besides, he had already noticed Evelyn hiding in that corner. If he guessed correctly, she had followed his daughter out.
He had been quietly watching her today. Her behavior didn’t reassure him, and he’d have to talk things over with her parents later.
His grandson and granddaughter-in-law were finally happily married, and he didn’t want anyone to cause trouble.
Upon hearing this, Evelyn knew Callix didn’t believe her explanation. Even she didn’t believe her own words; there was no way she could be taking a break here peacefully—she should have found a suitable place for that.
"Grandpa! I’ll head inside first."
After saying this, she quickly turned around and walked into the cafeteria without waiting for Callix’s reaction.
Her steps were hurried, and she looked quite flustered.
Watching her hurried figure, Callix sighed deeply.
