Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 878: Honey! I’ve Noticed You’re Quite the Actor
Easton Holmes had already noticed that Serena Zimmerman had no particular reason to meet Athena Linton. Now, stepping outside, he just wanted to see if the mother and daughter had left.
He opened the door and looked around. The corridor was empty, with no sign of the mother and daughter. He smirked and returned to the room, locking the door on his way back.
That pesky girl was always intruding on their room.
"Honey! I found out you’re quite the actor."
Clearly aware of the real purpose of her aunt, yet Easton pretended not to understand. Seeing him approaching, Lily Turner couldn’t help but tease him.
Upon hearing this, Easton immediately realized that his wife understood everything that had just happened. However, he felt completely comfortable and confidently and calmly walked over to sit beside her.
"Darling! I noticed you’re becoming smarter." He paused and continued, "Isn’t it said that women tend to get silly after pregnancy? Darling! How come you’re getting smarter instead?"
His wife had always been smart; if she got deceived in the past, it wasn’t because she was dumb, but rather because she was too naive, believing there were only good people in the world.
Lily Turner rolled her eyes at a certain man, swallowing her mouthful of egg. She deliberately put on a stern face and asked, "Easton Holmes! Do you secretly wish I became a fool?"
She could easily tell he was joking, but she purposely went along with him, wanting to see how he’d react.
"No matter what you become, you’re always my wife, Easton Holmes’ wife, the only one in this lifetime." Easton suddenly changed his tone, becoming serious. He gazed deeply at Lily Turner, looking incredibly earnest.
This sudden shift left Lily Turner momentarily stunned. She stared at Easton Holmes for quite a while before slowly coming back to her senses.
"How annoying! Being so sentimental in the morning, you’re making me cry." As she spoke, tears genuinely welled up in her eyes, tears of happiness and emotion.
"Alright! It’s my fault for making you cry."
Easton Holmes pulled Lily Turner into his arms, tenderly wiping the tears off her face. But as soon as he wiped them, fresh tears trickled down again.
He knew those tears were from joy and emotion, yet he felt uncomfortable seeing them. He feigned anger and put on a stern face, "If you don’t stop, believe it or not, I’ll cry along with you."
At his words, Lily Turner burst into laughter, her mix of laughter and tears making her look funny. Seeing her laugh, he laughed along too, "That’s more like it."
He pinched her cheeks and wiped away her tears in the process.
"I’ve never seen you cry before. What do you look like when you cry?" Lily Turner suddenly grew curious about Easton Holmes’ crying face, imagining it as she asked, but couldn’t picture it at all.
Seeing her daydreaming, Easton Holmes knew she was wandering off in her thoughts again. He lightly tapped her forehead, "Stop it with those wild thoughts, hurry up and eat, the food’s..."
A buzzing phone vibration suddenly came from the direction of the bed. Both instinctively turned their heads to follow the sound.
Who could it be at this hour? Didn’t they realize he and his wife were in their honeymoon phase?
Easton Holmes didn’t want to pay it any mind, but the phone rang again and again, seemingly opposing him on purpose.
