Re: Elf Prince—A Degenerate's Second Chance-Chapter 78. A Forest In Tears
78. A Forest In Tears
At another part of the forest was a huge explosion of fire that rose into the sky making it too hard to dismiss. It looked like a hundred missiles had been detonated on one spot at the same time. Then screams followed, they were so many and uncoordinated that one could tell it was from a group of people, or more accurately a village or city of sorts.
The explosion was the first thing to stop the blade from digging deep into Eryndor’s neck. If it had been an untrained fighter the shock would have made them slit his neck either way, he was grateful to that explosion whatever it was. But the beast girl unfortunately was not.
She pulled away her blade and walked past him as her years twitched and could hear the screams of her village. She stood there seeing the flames rise, her heightened nose picking on the smell of burnt trees and flesh, the smell of blood was also lingering and growing thicker by the second. She could hear the wails of girls and the battlecry of the male warriors it was chaos.
She did not know how this had happened, their location had been given away by who? But the group she attacked earlier did not seem to be working with any external force, the only thought was him. The turned and pointed the blade at Eryndor who was just getting up, she then raised her leg and pinned him to the tree with her foot to his neck choking him.
"You filthy scum how dare you do this?" She roared with two huge fangs protruding out and growing longer. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Eryndor coughed and looked at her, saying nothing in his defense. He simply acted strange and unafraid, like he could not understand her despite the fact that they spoke the same language now.
In rage she stabbed him on the shoulder angering King and causing to bark and charge at her, Snow stayed docile as she sensed a familiar emotion in her master. Eryndor said nothing and waved a hand for King to stop which he did rather grudgingly.
"How could you do such a thing, answer me?" She barked again. "You scums just walk and try to be lord over everything, why can’t you just all leave us alone?"
Tears started to form on her face and started to roll down. she turned away and dislodged the blade from his shoulder not wanting to look wearing and started to walk away in the direction of the flames.
Eryndor watched her leave and said nothing. There was a set of words a foolish part of him wanted to say but he stopped it. The words were, "Hey, you forgot to kill me." Or something like that.
Snow looked at her master from above with a strange intensity before flying off in the direction of the flames on her own accord.
Eryndor dropped on his knees and tried to catch his breath, he was bleeding but that did not concern him at the moment. It hurt like hell but why was his mind strangely occupied with one thought, who was she?
Deeper within the forest was a huge cascade of towering trees covered with rope bridges that led from three to three connecting the wooden houses that were built on them. The structure and architecture was one of marvel and like a piece done by a number of arachnids weaving countless spiderwebs to create a world of beauty. Or it was, now it was all covered in flames.
The houses and trees were roaring with flames.
Beast people running around in different directions, there were warriors fighting off the invaders that appeared to be a number of people dressed in strange battle wear and not a unique set of uniform. They were mercenaries led by a man with a scar on the back of his neck. He stood the size of a huge boulder and seemed to be half the size of a half giant. He did not order his men as he simply spectated them massacring the beast village.
"Remember, take only the females. They’ll fetch an even better price on the market as slaves, the males are too much of hard work and worthless compared to the females." He boomed his first order in a while.
At another section of the battle were two female beast girls chased by a mercenary who slashed one on the back and killing her the other one her ripped off the thin fabric of her garment and kicked her to the ground.
"Now why don’t we have a little fun shall we?" He locked his lips as he started to push down his pants.
The young beast girl had bunny ears and a cute bunny nose, half of her body was exposed under the red light. The roars of the crackling flames sounded loudly as if the world was in tears. "Please I’m sorry." Not knowing what to say she pleaded.
The mercenary chuckled as if being turned on by this reaction, not caring whether the ground was covered in blood or filled with corpses he forced her down a d a second later a cold curved steel went drove into his critch causing him to cry out in a pained moan. He looked forward to seeing the beast girl that had orange ear and ears and an angry look in her eyes. There was no remorse or sentiment in them.
The beast girl had gotten there as fast as she could despite her injuries which were staring to take a toll on her body, she looked down at the bunny eared beast girl and said in a ferocious voice. "Never apologize for existing and not to these inferior scum." A deep primal rage seethed through her voice as she chut upwards and eventually pulled her sickle out of the mercenaries throat.
She the turned and looked at the center of the tree system where there was an even bigger tree that was over hundred times as large as a normal three, it had a robust base as if pumped by air. She looked at it with tears in her eyes and said.
"The tree is crying. No, the forest is crying."
