Chapter 64 - Blood in the Night

The night air was thick with humidity as Qin Hao walked out of the warehouse. The meeting had gone well, but he knew this was just the beginning. A war was coming, and he had chosen his side.

Bao Lei followed him outside, lighting a cigarette. "You sure about this, Qin Hao? Once we start, there's no turning back."

Qin Hao's eyes were cold. "I have nothing left to lose."

Bao Lei smirked. "Good. That makes you dangerous."

Qin Hao turned to face him. "We need to move fast. Zhao Ming isn't stupid. He'll figure out something's happening soon."

Bao Lei took a drag from his cigarette and nodded. "We already have a target. One of Zhao Ming's biggest money-making operations—an illegal gambling house disguised as a high-end club. If we take it down, it'll hurt him where it matters."

Qin Hao's lips curled into a smirk. "Then let's get started."

The club, Golden Fortune, was one of Zhao Ming's most profitable businesses. On the surface, it was a luxurious entertainment venue, filled with rich clients and high-stakes gambling. But behind closed doors, it was a place of corruption—money laundering, bribery, and even human trafficking.

Qin Hao and Bao Lei stood in a black van parked a few blocks away. Inside, Bao Lei's men were preparing for the operation. Some were checking their weapons, while others were reviewing blueprints of the club.

"This is a precision job," Bao Lei said. "We go in fast, take what we need, and get out before Zhao Ming's security arrives."

Qin Hao studied the blueprints. "Where's the surveillance room?"

Bao Lei pointed to the second floor. "Here. If we take out the security feed first, we'll have a few extra minutes before the alarms go out."

Qin Hao nodded. "I'll handle that. You and your men take care of the main floor."

Bao Lei gave him a long look before chuckling. "You got guts, I'll give you that."

Qin Hao didn't respond. He wasn't doing this for praise. He was doing it for revenge.

An hour later, they moved in.

Two of Bao Lei's men posed as wealthy clients, gaining easy entry into the club. The moment they got inside, they caused a scene—one accusing the other of cheating in a game. As expected, the club's security rushed in to handle the situation.

That was Qin Hao's cue.

Dressed as a waiter, he slipped past the distracted guards and made his way upstairs. The hallway was empty, except for one armed guard near the surveillance room.

Qin Hao moved quickly, approaching the man from behind. Before the guard could react, Qin Hao struck, twisting his arm and forcing him to drop his gun. A quick punch to the throat silenced him for good.

Without wasting time, Qin Hao entered the room.

Monitors covered the walls, showing every part of the club. He pulled out a USB stick and inserted it into the main computer. Within seconds, the security system was compromised. The cameras went dark.

Downstairs, Bao Lei and his men moved in. Guns drawn, they stormed the gambling floor, forcing clients and staff to the ground. Screams filled the air as chaos erupted.

Qin Hao grabbed a walkie-talkie from the desk. "Surveillance is down. You have five minutes before reinforcements arrive."

Bao Lei's voice crackled through. "Understood. Moving to the vault."

Qin Hao stepped over the unconscious guard and made his way back downstairs.

Inside the vault room, Bao Lei's men worked fast, filling bags with cash, gold, and important documents.

One of the men whistled. "Zhao Ming is going to be furious."

Bao Lei grinned. "That's the point."

Suddenly, a loud explosion rocked the building.

Qin Hao's head snapped toward the main entrance. "What the hell was that?"

One of Bao Lei's men cursed. "They're here!"

Outside, black SUVs screeched to a stop. Armed men in suits poured out, their weapons ready.

Qin Hao's heart pounded. Zhao Ming's people were faster than expected.

"Change of plan," Bao Lei barked. "We fight our way out!"

Qin Hao gritted his teeth. The battle had begun.

Gunfire erupted outside Golden Fortune, shattering the quiet night. The sharp crack of bullets echoed through the streets as Zhao Ming's men stormed the entrance, their weapons blazing.

Qin Hao ducked behind a thick marble column, narrowly avoiding a hail of bullets. His mind worked fast. They needed to escape, but Zhao Ming's men had already blocked the main exit.

Bao Lei's voice shouted over the gunfire. "We hold our ground! Take them out!"

His men spread out, taking cover behind tables and overturned furniture. Some fired back, while others tossed smoke grenades, filling the club with thick gray mist.

Qin Hao kept low and moved toward a fallen guard, grabbing his weapon. He checked the magazine—full. Without hesitation, he stepped out and fired. A man in a black suit collapsed, blood spraying across the marble floor.

"Move toward the back exit!" Bao Lei roared.

Qin Hao nodded and motioned for the others. "Let's go!"

The group pushed through the chaos, weaving past broken glass and panicked guests who had taken cover. The vault bags were still strapped to their backs, filled with cash, gold, and documents.

"Cover me!" Qin Hao shouted as he sprinted toward the emergency door. He kicked it open, revealing a dimly lit alley. But just as he stepped out, headlights blinded him.

Three more SUVs screeched to a stop. More of Zhao Ming's men poured out.

"Shit," Bao Lei cursed.

They were surrounded.

Qin Hao's grip tightened on his gun. His eyes scanned the alley—too narrow to escape, and the enemy had better numbers. If they charged recklessly, they'd be gunned down.

One of the men stepped forward. He was tall, dressed in a gray suit, with a scar running down his cheek. He smiled coldly. "Bao Lei, you should've stayed out of this."

Bao Lei spat on the ground. "Tell Zhao Ming I'll send him to hell myself."

The man smirked. "He already knows."

With a wave of his hand, his men raised their weapons.

But Qin Hao didn't wait.

He spun, raising his gun and firing three quick shots. One man dropped instantly. The alley erupted into another round of chaos as bullets flew.

Bao Lei's men scattered, taking cover behind dumpsters and crates. But they were outnumbered.

Qin Hao knew they had to break through.

He turned to Bao Lei. "Follow my lead!"

Then he ran straight toward the enemy.

His sudden charge caught them off guard. He shot another man in the knee, making him collapse. Using the distraction, he grabbed a nearby trash bin and threw it forward, creating an opening.

Bao Lei and his men seized the moment, surging forward. The alley turned into a brutal fight, gunfire mixed with the sounds of fists and breaking bones.

Qin Hao dodged a punch and slammed his gun into an attacker's face, knocking him out. Then he grabbed the fallen man's knife and stabbed another enemy in the side. Blood spurted as the man screamed.

The fight was ruthless.

One of Bao Lei's men took a bullet to the chest, falling with a grunt. Another enemy had his throat slit. The ground became slick with blood.

Despite their numbers, Zhao Ming's men started falling back. They hadn't expected such fierce resistance.

The scarred man growled, raising his gun at Bao Lei.

Qin Hao didn't hesitate.

He lunged forward, grabbing the man's wrist and twisting it sharply. The gun fell, clattering to the ground. Before the man could react, Qin Hao delivered a brutal knee to his stomach, then smashed his elbow into his jaw.

The scarred man stumbled back, spitting blood. His eyes filled with rage. "Who the hell are you?"

Qin Hao didn't answer. He picked up the fallen gun and aimed it at the man's head.

The man froze, sweat dripping down his face.

Bao Lei stepped forward, still catching his breath. "Tell Zhao Ming this is only the beginning."

Then he fired.

The bullet ripped through the man's skull, dropping him instantly.

Silence filled the alley. The remaining enemies panicked and fled.

Bao Lei turned to Qin Hao, grinning. "Not bad."

Qin Hao wiped the blood off his face. "This is just the start."

Bao Lei nodded. "Then let's get out of here before the cops arrive."

With that, they disappeared into the night, leaving behind a battlefield of bodies and blood.
