Chapter 71 - Brother Kun’s Wrath

The night sky was painted with flames as the warehouse burned. The thick smoke curled into the air, choking out the stars. Qin Hao watched from a distance, his face unreadable. His men stood behind him, their expressions mixed with excitement and fear.

Bao Lei exhaled slowly. "This was a bold move, Qin Hao. Brother Kun won't take this lying down."

Qin Hao's lips curled into a smirk. "I know. That's exactly what I want."

Sun Bo and his men had been slaughtered, their bodies left in the burning wreckage. The news would reach Brother Kun soon, and his response would be brutal. But Qin Hao had already planned for it.

Bao Lei glanced at him. "Do we lay low?"

Qin Hao shook his head. "No. We press forward."

Bao Lei's eyes narrowed. "You mean...?"

Qin Hao turned to his men. "Gather everyone. Tomorrow, we hit Brother Kun where it hurts."

Brother Kun's rage was terrifying. The underground meeting hall shook with his fury as he slammed his fist onto the heavy wooden table. The glass of whiskey in front of him shattered, the liquid dripping onto the floor.

"Dead? All of them?" His voice was dangerously low.

One of his subordinates, a wiry man named Zhang Hu, swallowed hard. "Yes, boss. Sun Bo and his entire team were wiped out. The warehouse was burned down."

Brother Kun's eyes burned with fury. He stood abruptly, grabbing Zhang Hu by the collar. "And you're just standing here telling me this?! Where the hell were our informants?!"

Zhang Hu trembled. "They... They were taken out too, boss. Qin Hao must have known. He set the trap perfectly."

Brother Kun shoved him away. "That bastard!" He turned to the others in the room. "I want every man we have on this! I want his head on a spike by tomorrow morning!"

The room was silent. No one dared to speak against him.

One of the older men, Li Sheng, cleared his throat carefully. "Boss, this Qin Hao... He's different. He's not just another street punk. We underestimated him."

Brother Kun's eyes twitched. "Are you saying I should be afraid?"

Li Sheng shook his head. "No, boss. But we need to be smarter. If we charge in blindly, we might end up like Sun Bo."

Brother Kun clenched his jaw. He hated to admit it, but Li Sheng had a point. Qin Hao had turned the tables too easily. He was playing a game that Brother Kun wasn't used to.

"Fine," Brother Kun growled. "Then we set a trap of our own."

The streets were restless. The news of Qin Hao's attack had spread like wildfire. Some gangs saw it as a power shift, others as a warning. But everyone knew one thing—Brother Kun would strike back soon.

Qin Hao, however, was calm. He sat in a private lounge, sipping tea while Bao Lei paced in front of him.

"You do realize what you've done, right?" Bao Lei finally said.

Qin Hao chuckled. "Of course."

Bao Lei sighed. "Brother Kun won't hold back. He's ruthless. If we don't move carefully, we could be walking into our own graves."

Qin Hao leaned back, his eyes sharp. "That's why we have to be one step ahead. Brother Kun will come for us, but he'll do it in a way that makes him feel in control."

Bao Lei frowned. "What do you mean?"

Qin Hao smirked. "He'll try to lure me out."

And he was right.

Late that night, a message arrived. A young boy, barely fourteen, stumbled into Qin Hao's base, breathless and terrified.

"They... they took my sister," the boy panted, his eyes wide with fear. "They said if you don't come, they'll kill her."

Bao Lei's face darkened. "Who?"

The boy swallowed hard. "Brother Kun's men. They said you know where."

Qin Hao's expression didn't change, but his eyes turned cold.

Bao Lei clenched his fists. "That bastard. He's using a hostage to drag you out."

Qin Hao stood up, his movements slow and deliberate. "Then let's not disappoint him."

Bao Lei hesitated. "You're seriously walking into his trap?"

Qin Hao smiled. "No. I'm walking into my trap."

The meeting place was an abandoned factory on the edge of the city. The building stood like a skeleton, its windows broken, its walls covered in graffiti. A dozen of Brother Kun's men were stationed around it, their guns ready.

Inside, a young girl was tied to a chair, her face streaked with tears. A tall man in a black leather jacket stood beside her, a knife resting against her throat.

Brother Kun himself was seated in the middle of the room, smoking a cigar, watching the entrance. He was calm, confident. He had set the bait, and he was certain Qin Hao would come running in blindly.

The door creaked open.

Qin Hao stepped in, alone. His hands were in his pockets, his expression unreadable.

Brother Kun grinned. "So, you came after all."

Qin Hao's eyes flickered to the girl, then back to Brother Kun. "Let her go."

Brother Kun chuckled. "You think you're in a position to make demands?" He gestured around. "I have over twenty men here, all armed. You? You came alone."

Qin Hao smirked. "Did I?"

Before Brother Kun could react, the lights flickered, then went out completely. The factory plunged into darkness.

Gunfire erupted. Muffled screams followed.

Panic spread among Brother Kun's men. Shadows moved through the darkness, taking them down one by one. Knives flashed, breaking throats before they could even fire their weapons.

Brother Kun stood up, his heart pounding. "What the hell is going on?!"

A whisper came from behind him. "You underestimated me."

Brother Kun spun around just in time to see Qin Hao's fist before it smashed into his face.

He stumbled backward, blood dripping from his nose. Rage filled his eyes. "You little—"

Qin Hao didn't give him a chance to finish. He moved like lightning, his knee slamming into Brother Kun's gut. The older man gasped, doubling over.

The last of his men fell, leaving only him.

Qin Hao crouched beside him, gripping his hair and forcing him to look up. "This is the difference between us. You fight with brute force. I fight with intelligence."

Brother Kun gritted his teeth. "You... think this is over?"

Qin Hao smiled. "Oh, no. This is just the beginning."

He turned to Bao Lei, who had freed the girl. "Burn this place down."

As flames engulfed the factory, Brother Kun realized the terrifying truth—Qin Hao wasn't just another rival. He was a monster.
