Chapter 70 - Blood on the Streets

The city never slept, but tonight, the streets of the East District were quieter than usual. A storm was brewing, not in the skies, but in the underworld.

Qin Hao stood at the top of a parking garage, overlooking the street below. His men were scattered around, all waiting for his orders. Bao Lei stood beside him, a cigarette between his fingers, the glow barely visible in the dim light.

"We have eyes on Brother Kun's men," Bao Lei said, his voice low. "They're holed up in that bar across the street. About twenty of them."

Qin Hao smirked. "Then we'll give them a proper greeting."

He pulled out his phone and sent a single message. A moment later, the streetlights flickered. Then, total darkness.

Bao Lei flicked his cigarette away. "Showtime."

Below, in the bar, Brother Kun's men were drinking and laughing, unaware of the danger lurking in the shadows. The power outage caught them off guard, and confusion spread.

"The hell happened to the lights?" one of them muttered.

Before anyone could react, the front door burst open.

Qin Hao's men stormed inside, moving fast and precise. The first man barely had time to draw his weapon before he was struck down. A bat smashed into his ribs, sending him crashing into a table.

Chaos erupted.

A thug reached for his gun, but a knife found his shoulder before he could fire. He screamed, dropping the weapon.

Fists, bottles, and chairs flew through the air as Qin Hao's men tore through the room. Some of Brother Kun's men fought back, but they were caught off guard, outnumbered, and unprepared for the brutality.

Qin Hao entered last, his eyes scanning the mess. One of Brother Kun's captains, a bald man with a scarred lip, tried to crawl away, but Qin Hao grabbed him by the collar and threw him against the bar counter.

The man gasped, blood dripping from his nose. "P-Please, let's talk!"

Qin Hao's knee slammed into his stomach, cutting off any further words. The man collapsed, coughing violently.

Qin Hao crouched down, grabbing him by the hair. "You tell Brother Kun this—this is just the beginning."

The man nodded weakly, barely conscious.

Qin Hao straightened and turned to his men. "Burn it down."

Bao Lei grinned and tossed a bottle of alcohol against the shelves. Another man flicked a lighter, and within seconds, the place was engulfed in flames.

They walked out calmly as the fire roared behind them.

Sirens wailed in the distance. Time to disappear.

Brother Kun sat in his office, his fingers drumming against the desk. He had been expecting news, but not this.

Sun Bo rushed in, his face dark. "Boss, Qin Hao hit one of our main spots. It's gone."

Brother Kun's jaw clenched. "Casualties?"

"Most of the men are injured, some are in the hospital. The bar is nothing but ashes."

A vein pulsed in Brother Kun's temple. This was war now. He grabbed his phone and made a call.

"Get everyone ready," he ordered. "It's time we remind Qin Hao who really runs this city."

The city streets were tense. Word had already spread about Qin Hao's attack on Brother Kun's men. The underworld was buzzing—some were excited, some were terrified. But one thing was clear: retaliation was coming.

Qin Hao sat in a dimly lit room, his fingers tapping the edge of the table. Across from him, Bao Lei was leaning against the wall, watching him closely.

"They'll come for us soon," Bao Lei said.

Qin Hao smirked. "I'm counting on it."

Bao Lei raised an eyebrow. "You have a plan?"

Qin Hao leaned forward, his voice low. "Brother Kun thinks he has the upper hand. He'll send his men to hit one of our places. But what if we make sure they walk into a trap?"

Bao Lei grinned. "I like the way you think."

Brother Kun was furious. He had lost too many men in the last attack, and he wasn't about to let Qin Hao get away with it.

Sun Bo stood by his side, his face cold. "We know where they're keeping their supplies. The warehouse near the docks. If we hit them there, it'll hurt."

Brother Kun nodded. "Take thirty men. Burn it down. And if you see Qin Hao's people—kill them."

Sun Bo smirked. "Consider it done."

The docks were quiet at night, the air thick with the smell of salt and gasoline. The warehouse loomed in the darkness, a perfect target.

Sun Bo's men spread out, moving fast and silent. They expected little resistance, maybe a few guards.

What they didn't know was that Qin Hao was waiting for them.

The moment they stepped inside, the doors slammed shut.

"Light it up!" Qin Hao's voice rang out.

From the rafters above, Molotov cocktails rained down. Fire erupted instantly, blocking the exits. Panic spread through Brother Kun's men.

"Ambush!" someone shouted.

Gunfire erupted. Bullets tore through the air as Qin Hao's men opened fire from hidden positions. The trapped men had nowhere to run. Smoke filled the warehouse, making it hard to see.

Sun Bo gritted his teeth, pulling out his gun. "Fight back! Don't let them corner us!"

But it was already too late. Qin Hao stepped through the smoke like a shadow, his gun raised.

Sun Bo barely had time to react before a bullet tore through his leg. He collapsed, screaming in pain.

Qin Hao walked up to him, his expression calm. "This is what happens when you step into my territory uninvited."

Sun Bo glared at him, his breath ragged. "You think this is over?"

Qin Hao smirked. "No. This is just the beginning."

As the fire consumed the warehouse, Qin Hao's men slipped away into the night. The war had only just begun.
