Rebirth in the 90s: Melting My Devoted Mr. Iceberg-Chapter 174 Some Concerns
Originally, Qian Cheng wanted to invite Father Jiang and Mrs. Jiang to have a meal together, but seeing Father Jiang asleep, he had to give up. Mrs. Jiang had to take care of Father Jiang, so she couldn’t go. Qian Cheng took his young wife and Liu Yongfa together instead.
The dining place was switched to a different one, a bit far away, but the environment was very nice. After finishing her meal, Jiang Xue left early.
Father Jiang and Mrs. Jiang hadn’t eaten yet, so she brought some food back for them and then went to a nearby hotel to book two rooms.
After booking the rooms, she returned to the hospital to accompany Father Jiang. Someone needed to stay overnight, so the mother and daughter discussed it and decided one would stay overnight and the other during the day.
Originally, Mrs. Jiang was supposed to stay overnight, but when Qian Cheng and Liu Yongfa returned from catching up, he sent Mrs. Jiang and Jiang Xue home together and stayed himself.
Initially, both Father Jiang and Mrs. Jiang were unwilling. After all, Qian Cheng’s vacation was rare, and his relationship with Jiang Xue had just begun to develop; it was the perfect time to nurture it.
The elderly couple hoped the two could spend more time together to enhance their relationship. However, Qian Cheng didn’t think that way. He didn’t want Jiang Xue or maybe Mrs. Jiang to have to stay overnight. After all, he’s a man, and staying up all night is easier for him than for a woman.
Besides, he didn’t want his young wife to be exhausted. Though he actually wanted more private time with his young wife, it was essential to consider the circumstances, right?
Eventually, Qian Cheng managed to persuade the elderly couple. As for Jiang Xue, she also sighed in relief. Every time she thought about that day, she still felt somewhat uneasy.
She feared that staying with Qian Cheng might lead to situations similar to that day. Honestly, she wasn’t opposed, but she hoped it wouldn’t happen so soon.
Qian Cheng stayed behind while Jiang Xue and Mrs. Jiang went home to rest together. Liu Yongfa initially planned to stay too, but Qian Cheng persuaded him to leave.
Liu Yongfa found another place to stay and didn’t live with Jiang Xue. Because of this, Jiang Xue specially returned one of the rooms.
At night, the mother and daughter lay together, chatted for quite a while, and then rested. Early the next morning, Jiang Xue bought breakfast and went to the ward with her mother.
Father Jiang looked in good spirits, and Qian Cheng was fine too, which made Jiang Xue feel relieved.
All the examination results came out in the morning, and Jiang Xue took them to see Professor Han and confirmed the surgery schedule. Because Professor Han had to attend a lecture, the surgery was scheduled for the evening of the second day of the week.
Jiang Xue naturally had no objections to this.
Qian Cheng had only taken a day’s leave, so after lunch, he had to return to the army. Jiang Xue went to see him off, and this was their chance to speak properly.
Before, there were too many people, and both were focused on Father Jiang’s condition and taking him to check-ups, leaving them little opportunity to talk.
Now, there were just the two of them. Qian Cheng looked at Jiang Xue, and then pulled her into his embrace.
The sudden embrace startled Jiang Xue. It wasn’t until she saw no one around that she felt relieved.
"Xue’er, you’ve worked hard these days." Qian Cheng looked at his young wife with a face full of concern; he felt that in just a few days, she had become thinner.
For this reason, his heart ached even more. He reached out, gently ruffled her elegant hair, and then said, "Xue’er, don’t worry too much. Your father will be okay."
"I know!" Jiang Xue nodded, although she was still somewhat worried. But she didn’t show it because she didn’t want to make Qian Cheng worry. Or rather, she didn’t want him to worry about her.
