Rebirth in the 90s: Melting My Devoted Mr. Iceberg-Chapter 173 Qian Cheng Arrives
However, she didn’t know that Liu Yongfa actually didn’t go back but drove to the barracks instead to pick up Mu Qiancheng.
Mu Qiancheng had written up a proposal and submitted it to his superiors, asking for a day off. He knew that Father Jiang needed to undergo some tests and was worried that his young wife couldn’t handle it alone.
When Liu Yongfa arrived at the gate of the barracks, he immediately saw Mu Qiancheng standing outside and couldn’t help but smile.
"Qian Cheng!" Liu Yongfa stopped the car in front of Mu Qiancheng and rolled down the window.
"Hop in!"
Mu Qiancheng got into the car, and Liu Yongfa turned the car around and headed for the hospital.
"Qian Cheng, it’s been a while since we last met; we should catch up tonight and have a good chat." Liu Yongfa said with a smile as he drove.
It had been several years since he last saw Mu Qiancheng. They were not only classmates but also comrades. However, Liu Yongfa had been discharged earlier.
Nonetheless, even though they had been apart, they kept in touch often, and their relationship hadn’t faded because of the distance.
"Sure!" Mu Qiancheng had the same thought and agreed with a smile.
Once at the hospital, Liu Yongfa accompanied Mu Qiancheng to the ward. Because Liu Yongfa was in front, the people in the room didn’t immediately notice Mu Qiancheng.
Seeing Liu Yongfa return, Jiang Xue was a bit surprised and asked, "Brother Liu, didn’t you go back? Why are you here again?"
Liu Yongfa smiled but didn’t say anything. He just moved his body to the side, revealing Mu Qiancheng behind him.
Upon seeing Mu Qiancheng, Jiang Xue was stunned. It took her a moment to react, and then she said with joy, "Qian Cheng, how come you’re here?"
Only then did Jiang Xue realize that when Liu Yongfa previously mentioned having something to do, it was actually to pick up Mu Qiancheng.
Father Jiang and Mrs. Jiang also saw Mu Qiancheng and were equally delighted.
"Xue’er!" Mu Qiancheng first called out to his young wife, then greeted Jiang Xue’s parents, saying, "Dad, Mom!"
"Qian Cheng, why are you here? You know, work is important. I don’t have any major issues; you didn’t need to make the trip," Father Jiang was delighted at heart but spoke in a scolding manner.
Mu Qiancheng could tell that Father Jiang didn’t truly blame him, so he smiled and said, "Dad, I’m not busy right now."
"Oh, you’re just humoring me. You all have jobs; who isn’t busy? I’ve already felt bad for troubling Xiao Liu before."
Jiang Xue noticed her father was clearly happy but speaking in a way that might dampen the mood, so she interrupted, "Dad, it’s rare for Qian Cheng to come see you, so let’s not talk like that."
Father Jiang glared at his daughter, then apologetically said to Mu Qiancheng, "Qian Cheng, Xue’er doesn’t understand; please bear with her."
"Dad, it’s fine, Xue’er is doing well." Mu Qiancheng smiled and then asked about Father Jiang’s health. Upon learning that they were going for tests in the afternoon, he said, "I’ll accompany Dad this afternoon."
"Alright, we’ll all accompany Dad."
After chatting for a while, the doctor started their rounds. Jiang Xue asked a nurse for a wheelchair and wheeled Father Jiang for the tests.
Liu Yongfa didn’t leave immediately either. He and Mu Qiancheng accompanied Father Jiang for his tests, while Jiang Xue held the slips and queued up.
There were quite a few tests to be done. Luckily, Jiang Xue queued early, otherwise it would have taken the whole afternoon. However, some test results were not ready and would be available the next day.
Once the tests were done, the hospital was closed. Mu Qiancheng and Liu Yongfa returned Father Jiang to the ward. Back in the room, it wasn’t long before Father Jiang fell asleep.
