Rebirth of the Disgraced Noble-Chapter 64: Your Mind Shall Become My Playground
The Entity watched Lorelei closely. The sense of deja vu weighed heavily upon him as he met Lorelei’s crimson eyes.
A sigh left his lips. "If you think you can beat me with your little mind games, then you’re sorely mistaken, child."
As the last sentence echoed, an intense pressure manifested in the cave, causing it to tremble. Rocks fell dangerously close to Lorelei and despite the pressure aimed at her, she remained unflinching.
The Entity licked its lips as his palm extended. The gap between himself and Lorelei closed and his hands was met with her hot neck.
Without wasting a second, he tightened his grip around her neck with a malicious expression. The sound of bone cracking sounded in the cave and the warmth that filled her body quickly dissipated.
Her head lost its strength and fell sideways. For a few seconds, the Entity watched the dead body and when he made sure of her death, a low cackle resounded in the cave.
He tossed her to the side without a care for her state and focused on Zero who had shakily gotten to his feet. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
His laughter echoed once more as he took a step towards him. "What a foolish leader," he mocked.
He closed the distance with Zero who pressed himself against a rock in fear, but before he could do whatever he intended to, he kicked a rock unknowingly.
He looked down casually and blinked.
"Your mind shall become my playground."
Those words slammed in his skull as he found himself in the exact position he was in a few seconds ago. Lorelei had seemingly returned from the dead and reassumed her position before he attacked, her expression still unreadable.
"What?!"
The Entity roared, but the sound didn’t leave his throat, it echoed in the pit of his own stomach.
"Enough!" He lunged again, his new, marble-white fist blurring toward Lorelei’s chest.
The impact sent her flying wildly to the side of the cave. The sound of her cracking ribs sounded clearly in his ears. He spat out a gooey content and blurred to where Lorelei’s body lay limp.
His expression twisted. Without wasting a second, he raised his left foot and brought it down on Lorelei’s head without mercy.
Her head exploded like a watermelon under pressure, her blood splattered across the shattered rocks and her mass stuck on the bottom of his bare feet.
The sound of moving rocks passed through his senses. He snapped his head sideways with furrowed eyebrows and Zero who was shakily standing up came into his view.
He grunted and turned away from Lorelei’s corpse and walked towards Zero with clear malice residing within his eyes.
A light wind blew particles of dust into his eyes and he blinked.
"Your mind shall become my playground."
She was back. Standing three paces away. Unscathed. The red in her eyes was deepening, turning from the colour of blood to the colour of a dying star.
The veins on his Entity’s silver muscles bulged as he screamed, "You cannot trap me in a dream, you insignificant worm!"
A ghost of a smile passed by Lorelei’s unreadable expression as her energy flared. "What dream?"
A large roar left the Entity’s lips. The cave trembled violently as the air twisted around him. "Let’s see how long you can keep that form!"
The cave broke apart like a rock struck by a hammer. The Entity gripped Lorelei’s waist and brought it down savagely against his knee. The cracking of her ribs reached his ears, sounding louder than the crumbling rocks, but the Entity didn’t care.
Her body had bent at an unnatural angle, and her eyes had closed in death, but the anger didn’t fade. He lifted her mangled body upwards, letting the large rocks to destroy her frame into a mess of flesh.
The rays of moonlight filtered through the openings, illuminating the bloody grounds and the Entity’s bloodbathed form.
He spat out another mouthful of black gooey content. Tossing the mess of flesh to the side, he cleaned his lips and caught Zero’s figure from the corner of his eye.
Rage burned within him again as he laid eyes on him and he immediately took a step forward. "I’ll have to kill you too," he whispered.
Before he could close the distance, a small pebble landed on his head and he blinked.
"Your mind shall become my playground."
His heart lurched at those words. He looked around frantically. Lorelei still stood three paces from him, and the cave had returned to its original state.
Her energy burned brighter, but her face showed no signs of fatigue.
The Entity took a step back, but stepped forward immediately. "Your petty tricks have no effect on me!"
Despite his words, he remained in his spot, his chest heaving with a rythm that wasn’t his own.
She remained unchanged. The flame in her eyes had covered her whites entirely, turning her appearance into something akin to a fiery goddess.
"What trick?"
The Entity let out a low, guttural snarl, his silver eye pulsating with a rhythmic, violent light.
He rugged forward, but this time he didn’t use a fist, instead he extended his fingertips into five razor-sharp, mercury-like claws and aimed for her.
Lorelei stood her ground, the silver gleamed in her eyes, but there was no sign of fear. If anything, a hint of mockery slowly formed within her eyes.
With a horizontal sweep, the Entity tore through her torso. It was a clean, surgical bisection.
He watched with a sick fascination as her upper body slid off her waist, her crimson blood spraying across the jagged rocks. He reached down and grabbed her falling head, staring into her fading eyes with a triumphant, manic grin.
Die. Die. DIE!"
He crushed her skull between his palms, the sound of bone giving way to sheer force echoing like a gunshot in the cramped space. He felt the wetness on his hands, the definitive end of her heartbeat.
He planted the shattered skull into the floor with enough force to make the ground cave in.
Zero’s feet appeared in his peripheral vision, and as he turned to grab him, a piece of rock hit his head and he blinked.
"Your mind shall become my playground."
