Rebirth: The Heiress Plans Her Revenge-Chapter 19
Chapter 19: Chapter 19
’He really hates me for what happened five years ago,’ she whimpered heavily as she forced herself out of the church.
At this moment, all the guests were done giving their blessings to the newlyweds and they all decided to go home. The wedding banquet will commence tomorrow as tomorrow was the real wedding ceremony.
It was one the elders loved and looked forward to, the traditional wedding. The guests began to disperse to their various homes, they didn’t want to look unattractive for tomorrow’s ceremony.
"She’s coming home with us," at this moment, they were arguing about where Xin Yan would stay for the night.
Well it was basically Xin Yi against the elders.
"Why can’t you elders understand? We have to follow the traditions to the letter, do you want your ancestors to be mad at you?" Xin Yi was really good with words and he managed to trap them with just a single sentence of his.
"Why don’t we ask the person we are making decisions for?" Li Qiang suggested as he directed a subtle look towards Xin Yi. It was a confident look as though he knew what Xin Yan’s choice would be.
"That’s right, Xin Yan, where do you want to stay for this night?" Xin Yi looked at his sister with confidence.
An apologetic look suddenly appeared on Xin Yan’s face and her brother understood it all too well.
"I’m sorry big brother, but I will have to stay with Li Qiang this night, at the end of the day, we are still having the ceremony at his house, so it isn’t much of a loss."
Xin Yan knew her brother would definitely feel bad but she had some things to discuss with Li Qiang and these things could not wait any longer.
"Think of it this way, I’m just saving cost and time, it’s definitely easier this way," Xin Yan patiently explained.
"With his IQ, I’m afraid he won’t be able to understand what you are saying in the next two years."
Xin Yan: "....."
Li Qiang: "..."
Xin Yi: "...."
"Grandfather, I’m still your grandson at the end of the day, how can you ridicule me this way?" Xin Yi complained coquettishly.
"Brother," Xin Yan called.
"Fine, fine, you don’t need to call me continuously, just call me if he tries anything appropriate with you," Xin Yi seriously begged her.
"But we are married," she reminded him weakly, her brother was so childish.
"I will inform you," she clamped her mouth shut seeing that her brother had glared against her.
"That’s enough, you still act like a child, which is why you haven’t gotten a girlfriend, at this rate, I should really not expect any offsprings from you," Grandpa Xin criticized him in front of the entire family.
"Listen Li Qiang, if you try anything with my sister, do you think I don’t dare to cut off your legs?" The protective brother in Xin Yi had made its appearance.
"But if I don’t do anything, how are we supposed to give the elders kids? Surely you don’t want to be an hindrance," Li Qiang raised his brows as he mercilessly gave a retort.
"You brat, are you against them not giving us grandchildren? It’s enough you don’t want to get married but don’t hinder Xin Yan from being successful in her marriage," Grandma Xin was close to tweaking his ears.
"Grandma," Xin Yan pouted her lips.
"I’m tired," she complained.
"Then, you both should hurry back home, Li Qiang, take care of her," They pushed the both of them to the car.
In the car, Xin Yan was seated obediently, her hands placed on her laps.
"Why are you so reserved? This isn’t your normal attitude," Li Qiang’s words had a teasing tone to it.
She didn’t reply as she glanced out the window. She never would have thought that her wedding will go smoothly. But for tomorrow, she couldn’t help but feel that something would happen.
"Are you scared that I would do something?" Xin Yan snapped her head as she heard those suggestive words.
"Relax, I won’t do anything to you but if you do want it, then I can’t guarantee what might happen," he gave her a suggestive look.
Xin Yan’s breathing turned heavy as her face was covered with a pink blush just right for a young lady. It was a pity her veil was still on, Li Qiang had missed such a wonderful sight.
"I never expected such words to be uttered by President Li," Xin Yan chuckled dryly. She knew it, he was really a shameless man, her brother and her were right.
At this moment, the car was already on its way to the Li’s residence. Though Li Qiang didn’t live there, he had no choice because the wedding ceremony and banquet will be held there.
"Yanyan, I’m only being my true self so you could get used to it, and besides, if I were to treat you the way I treat others, it won’t be fair to you, I’m your husband," Li Qiang affirmed.
Xin Yan felt sweet in her heart. She would never have expected Li Qiang to be capable of sweet words and she smiled through her veil.
"Then I would take your word for it, there’s no room for changing these words," she declared.
"You have my word, I won’t change," Li Qiang promised and she smiled brightly. Again, it was a pity he couldn’t see her face.
Li Qiang glared at the veil which was an obstacle for him. He couldn’t see his wife and he naturally put the blame on the veil.
No doubt, if the veil were a living thing, it’s words would have been: ’It really isn’t my fault, I’m just doing what I was meant to do,’ while wailing pitifully as he won’t be able to stand Li Qiang’s aura.
"Can you remove your veil?" He could only suppress his anger and make a request to her.
"Uh? You want me to take off my veil?" She asked in surprise and she was taken aback when he nodded firmly.
She had no choice than to listen and obediently take off her veil which revealed her beautiful face.
Li Qiang was stunned. He knew she was pretty, she could easily be crowned the most beautiful woman in the country, there were few who could rival her and that was because she didn’t put on makeup.
But seeing her on makeup had defied all his expectations. It was beyond the scope of his imagination.
"Am I that bad which caused you to be tongue-tied?" Xin Yan complained.
"Bad? No, I was just stunned, you are to beautiful and it caused me to be speechless," Li Qiang let out an helpless sigh.
"You are sure?" She squinted as she tried to find out if he was telling the truth or not.
"I’m serious," he nodded fervently.
"Young Master, Young Miss, we’ve arrived," they suddenly heard the driver’s voice and then they noticed they were already at the Li’s residence.
The door was opened for Li Qiang and he walked briskly to the other side of the car. He didn’t know what might happen if he left this girl alone.
He opened the door for her and once she stepped down from the car, he lifted her up in a princess carry.
He walked to his room and gently laid her on the bed.
"I’ll be in the guest room, you freshen up, okay?" He breathed out. Only God knew how he was able to control himself.
He didn’t wait for her to speak before walking out of the room.
Xin Yan didn’t say anything about it as she freshened up. It was then she realised that he had actually helped her zip her wedding gown.
She went to his wardrobe to see what she could wear and she found women’s clothes which caused her to be surprised.
She pursed her lips but didn’t say anything as she freshened up.
There was still tomorrow’s ceremony and she needed maximum rest.
Meanwhile, Xin Yi drove to a bar. He had just met the lady who had hurt him five years ago and though he acted like he did not care about it, deep down, he was hurt, not by the fact that she broke up with him without giving reasons but by the fact that his stupid heart still yearned for her.
"What would you like Mr?" The bar attendant asked as he noticed the forlorn countenance of the man.
"Get me your strongest drink, I want to get drunk," he ordered.
The bar attendant looked at him and wondered if this customer was alright, but there was nothing he could do but to reply to his order.
He served him the drink and Xin Yi had glasses after glasses, till he became tipsy.
"Thank you for heeding my request," he thanked the attendant before he walked out of the bar.
"Hey!" He was suddenly stopped by someone and despite being drunk, he could recognize who the person was.
"Fu Ji?" He called out while he staggered a bit.
The guy called Fu Ji stared at him with disgust.
"I never expected you to come back to China, this is such a surprise," Fu Ji sneered at him.
"Should I not have returned? After all, you all forced me to return by destroying my wrists," Xin Yi replied with a slur.
Fu Ji stared at Xin Yi who was vulnerable and he had evil intentions immediately. And why would he not? He had always been overshadowed by Xin Yi everytime they were on the race track which was why he destroyed his wrists.
But now, he wanted to end him completely.
"Since you are aware that I destroyed your wrists, why don’t I end you completely?" Fu Ji asked as he inched closer towards him.
"Stay away from me, I came back to China without any complaints, why are you still after me?" Xin Yi questioned as he cautiously took steps back, he was trying to buy time.
"Because I hate you, why do you have to be the best racer? You have all good things, from your family and also being the best racer, I just detest you," Fu Ji finally confessed and this shocked Xin Yi greatly as he was not expecting it.
