Chapter 223: Chapter 223: Saved

Song Recommendation: Mantra By Jennie

"After you have lured them away, we will rush in, and save Luiying, this would only be possible if we could work together," Xin Yi explained to them, and they nodded.

"Go, Qing," Xin Yi ordered, and the little man ran to the hut.

"Hello, can someone help me? I need help," Qing ran into the hut, shouting causing the men to be at alert.

"What do you want?" The three men shouted simultaneously, cocking their guns at the same time.

Zhang Luiying, who was tied up in the middle of the room raised her head immediately. Her throat was parched, and she was exhausted.

"I am sorry for barging this way, but I require your help," Qing was breathless as he bent while taking deep breaths.

"What are you talking about?" The one who seemed to be the leader asked.

"There has been an accident, I require help to bring out my family from the car, they are the only ones I have, if I don’t bring them out, and they end up dying, I don’t know how I would live," Qing even forced out a few tears from his eyes.

"Go see what he is talking about," the leader instructed one of the men.

Qing had a worried look on his face when he heard the man’s words. He needed to have the three of them out of this hut.

"Actually, I require three men to assist me, as you can see, I am just a young person, if I could have done it on my own, I would have done it, but I am simply a weakling," Qing continued with his fake tears, and he hoped that they were sympathetic enough.

The leader sighed, "fine, lead the way," he finally gave in, and Qing sighed in relief.

They all walked out of the hut, leaving Zhang Luiying in the hut, Qing winked at her leaving her flabbergasted.

A few minutes later, her questions were answered when Xin Yi and the rest marched in.

She cried in relief seeing him, her cries fell the more when she noticed her brother.

"Please keep an eye on the entrance, those men are smart, it won’t be long before they notice something is wrong, he won’t be able to hold them for long, I will untie her simultaneously," Xin Yi instructed, and they all nodded, finding his instructions to make sense.

"You are here," Zhang Luiying commented as he removed the tape from her mouth.

"Why did you not fight back? And I believe you would have felt a presence behind your back, why did you act so carelessly?" Xin Yi reprimanded her as he untied the ropes which were around her body.

"Because I knew this was inevitable, and we could find the mastermind behind my disappearance, and I was also aware of the chip you placed in the necklace which you gave me today; thus, I knew you would find me," Zhang Luiying smiled as she explained to him.

"Silly!" He flicked her forehead when she rose from the chair.

Just as Xin Yi had predicted, the men were intelligent, and they noticed the flaw in Qing’s story. They had beaten him up, as they dragged him to the hut.

"Qing!" One of the men yelled as he quickly rushed to the men, only to be obstructed by one of the men.

"Stay back!" The lackey warned as he pointed at him, making him take a step back, whilst still glaring at the lackey.

Zhang Luiying snuggled closely into Xin Yi’s arms as she looked at the men, with fear and wariness in her eyes.

"So this is your plan, do you know who my boss is? He will not be happy with this," The leader folded his arms as he sneered at the petty attempt to rescue Zhang Luiying.

Xin Yi did not say anything, he was waiting for them to attack. At the end of the day, he was going to save his wife, regardless of what was going to happen.

The leader gestured to the lackeys to take action. This was what Xin Yi wanted.

He was silent, but his eyes landed on each and every one of his men, his eyes carrying a hidden meaning.

The leader was quick to shoot at Xin Yi, but he had already predicted his move, so he moved out of the way, with Zhang Luiying in his arms.

"Are you okay?" He asked her, and she nodded, her hands on her chest. She was reeling at the near-death experience.

Xin Yi narrowed his eyes. He knew that one side was bound to lose, but he was not willing to be that side. He needed to come out alive, with Zhang Luiying.

Soon enough, there was a shootout. Xin Yi had the advantage of men, and they were skilled. He did not allow Zhang Luiying to leave his side, as he held her close to himself, while dealing with the men.

It was a short battle, not taking up to five minutes. The men were not dead, but they were groaning in pain.

Xin Yi left them alive because he needed to interrogate them. He had to find out who their real boss was.

He might have that number, but there was a probability that the mastermind could have used a fake number, and they could not find out who he was.

Finding out from the direct source was the best, and these men were the best to use.

"My daughter," Zhang Jun hugged Zhang Luiying, immediately they walked into the mansion.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere? Those men did not hurt you anywhere, did they?" Zhang Jun checked Zhang Luiying’s body to see if she was truly telling the truth.

"I am telling the truth mom, I am really okay, I didn’t suffer any harm, you should have more confidence in your son-in-law, he saved me just in time, he and brother were so cool, or else,

I might have been shipped to a different country," Zhang Luiying had a smile on her face as she recounted her experiences.

"Were you able to find the mastermind?" Zhang Jun asked, as that was the pressing matter at hand.
