Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Promises

Song Recommendation: Solo By Jennie

"Then let’s make a promise, despite everything happening with our parents, we should remain friends, promise?" Tang Ni stuck out his little finger to the twins, who took turns in giving him their words.

"Great! We are friends, friends for life, let’s promise that nothing will separate us, not even the feud between our parents," Li Meimei stated righteously.

The innocent kids made promises, which could last for an entire lifetime, but time will tell if they will be able to live up to the promises they have just made.

"Where are my kids?" Li Qiang was seen standing in front of Wu Tang with a strong aura.

Li Qiang stood tall as he towered over Wu Tang a bit. Both men were tall, but Li Qiang was taller than Wu Tang with just half a head, which makes Wu Tang look small in front of Li Qiang.

But that did not deter Wu Tang. He was able to match up to Li Qiang’s aura. He was, perhaps, the only person who could achieve such a feat.

Wu Tang did not respond to Li Qiang’s question as he sized Li Qiang up. Li Qiang was not holding on to anything — yet!

"I believe I asked a question, I want to know where my kids are, that should not be a big problem, since you are in this house, then there’s a 99% probability that my kids are here, I intend to see my kids," Li Qiang demanded calmly.

He might look calm, but anyone who was close to Li Qiang would be wary about his calmness. As they said, it was calm before the storm.

Li Qiang was at the verge of letting out an outburst, but he was trying to rein in his anger. If he had an outburst now, it could be dangerous to the twins.

"Why don’t you come in to have a cup of tea? After tea, we will return your kids to you, how do you find that to sound?" It was Tang Mei speaking.

Wu Tang snapped his head towards her with his eyebrows drawn together. He wondered what must have gotten into her to make such a request to Li Qiang, but he had to admit, this was one of the best ways to while away time.

Li Qiang observed the expression on their faces, and his blood boiled. He took a deep breath to calm himself, before agreeing.

"I would also like to have tea," Xin Yan rushed to the entrance of the house, coming to stand beside Li Qiang as she panted heavily.

"I thought I asked you to stay in the car," Li Qiang asked with his hands folded as he looked at his wife, who scratched her hair cutely.

"I am sorry, but I cannot wait in the car, idle, especially when I know you are about to face our enemies," at this point, Xin Yan turned to glare at their counterparts.

Li Qiang shook his head, instinctively ruffling her hair, and she stuck out her tongue at him playfully.

This little episode caused the faces of both Wu Tang and Tang Mei to burn. They could not believe that they had to watch the couple being lovey-dovey. Watching them felt like they were going through fire, and it caused them to feel uncomfortable.

When Tang Mei could not take it anymore, she said, "if you guys are done, maybe we can head in," she forced a smile on, one which was worst than tears.

"We are sorry, shall we?" Xin Yan asked with a smile, and her smile irked Tang Mei immensely.

"Please, have a seat, and make yourself comfortable, I will be right back," Tang Mei acted as a host perfectly, even Xin Yan was impressed.

They all had smiles on their faces, but there was an underlying tension. They were all treading on thin ice currently.

Xin Yan’s eyes darted around the building. She was trying to find where the twins could have been hidden. She was doing it discreetly, but Wu Tang was smart enough to catch her.

He understood he was to pay attention to them, especially Xin Yan. She was smart, and it was clear that she would do anything for her family.

Wu Tang smiled. Thankfully, he had already anticipated this move from them, so he had repositioned the guards. It will not be easy for Xin Yan to find the room where the twins were located, or that was what he thought.

"Xin Yan, we met today, I had no idea that you were actually going to place a camera in my clothes," Wu Tang blurted out, which diverted her attention from searching for the door.

She turned to look at him, and she rolled her eyes immediately. She was not in the mood to speak with him.

Li Qiang felt satisfied with the silence she gave as an answer, evident with the way the smile was unable to leave his lips.

’Just wait, you will be screaming under me soon, you will lose everyone dear to you soon, and you will have no choice than to come to me,’ Wu Tang thought to himself confidently as he gawked at Xin Yan.

Xin Yan, on the other hand, had found a clue from his words. He said he found the camera, this only meant that he was expecting them to show up.

Since he did not run, there was only one thing he could do to keep them from finding the twins.

The door guarding the kids would have no guards. He wanted to trick them, but he had given himself away with his words.

Her eyes landed on a door with no guards, but it was tightly locked. She shook her head, feeling that it would not be the door.

She looked towards another door, and her eyes shone for she had found what she was looking for.

Xin Yan shifted closer to Li Qiang, her eyes on Wu Tang whose attention was not on them.

"I found the room where the kids are," Xin Yan whispered to him, and he snapped his head towards him, eyes wide in surprise.

"How are you so sure?" Li Qiang asked in a whisper.
