"He gave himself away, for now, please act normal, I have a feeling he would not allow us to leave without a fight, so you need to be prepared for a brawl," Xin Yan instructed with a whisper.
Li Qiang nodded, feeling that what she said was actually correct.
Wu Tang finally turned to look at the couple, and his face crumpled when he saw how close they were with each other, simply because they were discussing with each other.
He frowned as he wondered what they were discussing. He decided to keep an eye on them.
"Here, please, make yourself at home," Tang Mei smiled as she gestured for them to have the tea.
Both Li Qiang and Xin Yan exchanged glances, before picking the cup.
They both shared a tacit understanding, and they knew that they could not take a sip out of the cup. It could be drugged for all they knew.
Tang Mei squinted at them. She was curious to know if they actually drank out of the cup. She was well aware of how smart the couple were, but she hoped that they would let their guards down, and take a sip.
"How was it?" Tang Mei asked immediately with weird excitement.
Xin Yan looked at Tang Mei who weirdly had a smile on her face, and a forced smile appeared on her face. She had every reason to think that the tea was drugged.
"It tastes excellent, who made this?" Xin Yan decided to humor her.
"I made it myself, Li Qiang, what do you think about it?" Tang Mei turned to look at Li Qiang, who was playing with the cup in his hands.
"It is mid, my wife makes better tea and coffee," Li Qiang replied with a straight face.
One could not make out if he was joking, if he was serious, or if he was trying to get on the nerves of Tang Mei.
Anyone he was planning to do, he was able to make Tang Mei’s smile fall.
"I only asked a question, you could have replied to me without bringing your wife into this," Tang Mei stated, she was on the verge of tears.
Li Qiang was not apologetic. She was not his wife, so there was no reason for him to act delicately with her.
While they were discussing, a one-sided discussion that is, Xin Yan quietly slipped away when she was sure that Wu Tang’s eyes were not on her.
She breathed a sigh before walking to an inconspicuous door. Xin Yan breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that she was close to her goal.
She turned back, and she noticed that Wu Tang was not on his seat. She let out a low curse, before she decided to ignore that, and focus on trying to open the door.
Xin Yan tried opening the door, but it was futile.
"Darn it!" She cursed in a whisper. She breathed out, trying to calm herself. Likewise, she closed her eyes to take a deep breath.
"Do you need help with the door?" She heard a voice, and she was quick to open her eyes.
"Wu Tang," she called out in a shaky voice. Her head immediately snapped back to the living room where Li Qiang was being held back by Tang Mei who kept on talking.
"You were not expecting me, were you? You know, I have always known that you are a smart woman, I understood you will be able to find what you are looking for with ease,
I just did not expect that you will find the room so soon, you are smart, and I like smart women," Wu Tang said a lot, but Xin Yan was not in the mood to listen to him.
Currently, she only wanted to be reunited with her kids. That was the only thing she asked for.
"Open the door," she demanded with folded arms.
"I am sorry to disappoint you, but I will not be able to fulfill this request of yours," Wu Tang replied with a smile.
Xin Yan took deep breaths in. His rejection and actions were beginning to get on her nerves.
But she was aware that she could not get into a fight with him, at least not now. Her kids were still with him, and they might not be safe if she had a disagreement with him.
"You should have let my kids go, you should never have brought them into our issues, I know you are saying it is because of your son, but do you think I would believe you?" Xin Yan raised her voice, and that attracted both Li Qiang and Tang Mei.
Li Qiang hastily rushed to where they were, followed by Tang Mei.
"Qiang, tell him to let my kids go," Xin Yan enunciated each word.
Li Qiang held Xin Yan who was already weak due to the amount of energy she had expended. Li Qiang then turned to glare at Wu Tang, who did not feel any pressure from the intensity of Li Qiang’s glare.
"We want our kids released now," Li Qiang demanded. He could have barged into the room, but for the sake of the twins, they could not take hasty or rash decisions.
The noise outside attracted the kids who were playing in the room.
Li Chuxi and Li Meimei exchanged glances, and looked at Tang Ni who also heard the noise.
"Your parents are here, but it seems my father is not letting you both go," Tang Ni analyzed.
His small eyebrows were drawn together as he looked at the two girls, whose eyes were dimmed after they heard what he said.
"What do we do now? Do we need to scream to let them know we are here?" Li Meimei asked as she bit her nails in fear.
"Do not worry, I will help you, while I was in the States, I learned something," Tang Ni smiled mysteriously at them, and the twins wondered what he must have learned.
"Meimei, please give me your hair clip," Tang Ni instructed, to which she immediately handed it to him.
"I will be picking this lock," he announced to them, and their eyes widened in amazement.
