"Why should I stay in disguise? I will also make my intention of courting you known," Lu Wei replied, and her eyes widened.

"You do not mean what you just said, right?" Gu Shishi stared at him in horror.

If he made his intention about courting her known, not only will his fans be against, even her parents will be against it.

It was soon time for the party, and a lot of influential guests were invited.

Li Qiang and Xin Yan were invited. Wu Tang and Tang Mei were also invited.

Tang Mo and Zhou Mian were invited as well. It was a party of class as all the people of high class.

"I just got a text message from Lu Wei, he will be here," Li Qiang, Xin Yan, Tang Mo, and Zhou Mian were seated at a table when Li Qiang informed them about Lu Wei’s message.

"Oh that is good, by the way, I am happy the twins have returned home, how about Wu Tang? How do you want to deal with him?" Tang Mo asked as he took a sip out of his glass of juice.

As he was speaking, Wu Tang and Tang Mei walked into the banquet hall.

"Speak of the devil, and he shows up," Zhou Mian sneered as she noticed them.

"Honestly, I have no idea what to do, the issue here is I miss my friend, and I want to be friends with him again, but it is all up to him if he still wants to be friends," Li Qiang replied, one could hear the yearning in his voice.

"I could see that you truly miss him, I only hope things get better," Tang Mo stated.

While they were discussing, Wu Tang and Tang Mei surprisingly approached them.

"Can we take a seat here?" Wu Tang asked timidly.

"Sure," Li Qiang was quick to reply.

Wu Tang and Tang Mei immediately took their seats. Surprisingly, Tang Mei did not glance at Li Qiang as she normally did.

"Brother, how have you been?" Tang Mei asked timidly.

Tang Mo wanted to ignore her, but he got kicked from under the table, it was done by Zhou Mian.

"I am well, how have you been coping? It has just been a few days since your wedding, I hope he is not maltreating you," Tang Mo asked, his face had a distaste for Wu Tang who lowered his head.

"Surprisingly, I have been very well, Wu Tang has been taking good care of me," Tang Mei replied, and Zhou Mian let out a gasp.

"That is new," Zhou Mian commented, her face was filled with a gossipy look as her eyes darted between both of them.

"What is with you?" Tang Mei was quick to give Zhou Mian a reply. Zhou Mian only rolled her eyes, not bothered by her words.

"Alright, that is enough, we do not want a fight on such a happy day, do we?" Xin Yan stepped in, as she looked at the two women who were about to bare their fangs at each other.

"Let’s not spoil this beautiful day, and let’s be at peace with each other," Xin Yan was the mediator between the two women.

"Fine," they both chorused.

"Now, shake hands, that would give me the impression that you understand what I am saying," Xin Yan instructed, and the women snapped their heads towards her.

"What!"

"You must be kidding me!"

They both yelled simultaneously, before turning to glare at each other.

"Alright, that is enough, just shake hands, before we become a spectacle," Xin Yan forced out through gritted teeth.

The two ladies frowned, before they reluctantly shook hands, with Zhou Mian intentionally squeezing Tang Mei’s hands.

The three men looked at Xin Yan who had successfully tamed the two ladies.

They had a look of admiration on their faces.

"How did you do it, Sister-in-law?" Tang Mo asked, his eyes could not hide the admiration he had for Xin Yan who casually flipped her hair..

"It’s not that hard, but anyways, you won’t be able to understand it, the party is about to begin, we cannot take the celebrant’s attention away from her," Xin Yan smiled.

As soon as she was done with her statement, Gu Shishi made an appearance.

Once Gu Shishi made an appearance, the entire hall erupted in applause.

Gu Shishi climbed onto the podium, with a smile. But if one were to look closely, they would see the pain in her eyes.

Even her hands were trembling as she took hold of the microphone.

Her grandparents were beside her, and they gave her a reassuring smile.

"You did well," Grandpa Gu complimented Gu Shishi, and Gu Shishi breathed out in relief.

It was finally time for the guests to give the celebrant the gifts they had prepared.

The first to gift Gu Shishi were her grandparents.

"We are going to be giving Gu Shishi our share of the company, which is our gift for our granddaughter," Grandma Gu announced.

Her announcement caused the entire faces of the members of the Gu family to change drastically.

Gu Shishi, on the other hand, was shocked. She looked at her grandparents who were serious with their words.

"Father, you cannot decide to give your shares to her, she is a girl, and whether you like it or not, she still has to leave this house, would our family’s name be changed?" Gu Shishi’s father, Gu Guan stepped up.

While this drama was ongoing, the guests whispered amongst themselves. They could see that Gu Shishi was not favored in the house.
