"I believe it will come to you, alright, off you go, and do not return without Gu Shishi, even if it takes two days to find her, you need to return home with her, or your mother will be distraught," Gu Guan practically pursued him out of the study.

Gu Leng who was standing outside of the study had his mouth hung open in shock. He was lost in thoughts, he pondered on what might have come over his father.

"I guess, I just have to do this, perhaps, I should discuss with the police officers, surely, they have more resources than I do," Gu Leng muttered as he held his head.

He could not help but curse Gu Shishi. If she had not run away from the house, then he would not be caught in such a dilemma.

Gu Yuan looked at his brother who was complaining, and he stifled a laugh which was heard by Gu Leng.

"You are laughing at me, aren’t you?" Gu Leng asked, and Gu Yuan shook his head negatively, even though he was trying his best to hold back his laugh.

"Get out of here, will you?" Gu Leng punched Gu Yuan’s shoulders.

"But seriously, brother, you should not have taken such a drastic step, this is the reason for your predicament," Gu Yuan stated.

"Do you think I am not aware of that?" Gu Leng asked while shaking his head.

"I was in a bad mood, I was not thinking straight, I had no idea when I released the article, it’s all my fault," Gu Leng breathed out through his lips.

"Don’t beat yourself up, you did what you thought was right, and now I will do what I think is right," Gu Yuan smiled at his brother who gave him a confused look.

"And what might that be?" Gu Leng asked.

"I will assist you in searching for Gu Shishi, we might not like her, and she might not be a member of our family, but it is an established fact that she is mom’s daughter, and we have seen how much mom loves her, we have to bring her back, we will think about what happens when she returns."

It turns out that Gu Yuan was smarter than Gu Leng. He was able to analyse the situation properly, and he also provided an answer to Gu Leng’s predicament.

"Thank you so much, I don’t know what I would have done without you," Gu Leng thanked his brother, and they both exited the house, not after informing their mother and grandparents about the task they wanted to carry out.

Lu Wei wanted to keep the news away from Gu Shishi, but he had forgotten that she had a phone with her.

After she had prepared breakfast, and went into her room. She decided to turn her phone on to inform her grandparents about her safety, and where she was.

But she was surprised by the amount of missed calls she had from her friends. She frowned, before she decided to return the call.

"What’s wrong? Why did you call me so many times?" Gu Shishi asked as soon as the call was connected.

"Where are you? Are you even aware of what is happening on the internet, you might not be aware, which is the reason for your calm voice, anyways, i implore that you check it out, this is the reason I called," the girl on the other end informed her urgently before disconnecting the call.

Gu Shishi frowned, annoyed by the incomplete news. But she still did as said, and she checked the internet.

The first news she saw was about Lu Wei making known his intention to court her, and a smile escaped her lips, especially when she noticed how well the news was received by the netizens.

But her smile fell when she noticed another news, one totally different from what she had seen earlier. She finally realized why her friend’s voice sounded urgent.

It was news which revealed the real truth behind her birth. Gu Shishi clicked on the link fearfully, though she was sure she would be heartbroken by the news in it.

As soon as she started reading, tears escaped from her eyes. She sniffed, furiously wiping her tears.

By the time she was done with the heartbreaking article, her heart was numb, and she felt dead within. She did not bother to read the netizens’ comments as she was sure she was being bashed heavily.

She walked out of the room, just in time to see Lu Wei walking out, all dressed in a black suit.

Lu Wei immediately noticed the change in her expression, and he frowned. Earlier, she had a cheerful look, but her face was gloomy now.

"What’s wrong?" He asked as soon as he walked to her.

"How long were you going to hide it from me?" Gu Shishi questioned, and Lu Wei’s face morphed into confusion.

"What do you mean by that?" Lu Wei asked.

"This," Gu Shishi replied as she handed her phone to him.

Lu Wei received her phone still confused, but he finally realized what she meant when he saw the page of the article.
