Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Visiting Her Uncle (Unedited Chapter)
Song Recommendation: All Falls Down By Alan Walker
"Hey, what are you thinking about? You have been so silent, and I hate to admit it, but it got me worried," Wu Tang gently tapped Tang Mei who jolted out of her reverie at once.
"I am sorry, I was just thinking about many things, what did you say?" Tang Mei asked, apologizing at the same time.
"I said it will be best if Tang Ni changes his surname, if he doesn’t, people might think I did not accept him, and they would say things, which is not what I am looking forward to hearing," Wu Tang repeated his suggestion.
Tang Mei was silent for a while as she observed Wu Tang’s face. He seemed hellbent on changing her son’s surname.
Perhaps, it would be best if her son’s surname was changed. Outsiders had a lot to say. There could be rumors that her son was not Wu Tang’s son, and these rumors would definitely hurt Tang Ni.
"I agree with you," Tang Mei gave in after she weighed the pros and cons.
A smile appeared on Wu Tang’s face as he observed her. Perhaps, this might just work.

Xin Yi’s Condo>
"I have discovered the mastermind behind your birth switch," Xin Yi walked into the room as he looked at Zhang Luiying who had a pale face.
These past few days, she has been quite lethargic, and it was due to the pregnancy. She could not do things which she could normally do. In simple terms, the pregnancy was taking a toll on her body.
"Who is it?" She asked him, her voice hoarse.
"It’s like your father suspected, it’s your Uncle, and the second branch," Xin Yi replied, observing her face to see how she was going to react to the news.
Zhang Luiying closed her eyes, sighing deeply.
"I was just a fetus when they came up with such an intricate conspiracy, what did I do to them? Why did they decide to target me?" Zhang Luiying questioned, her voice was hoarse, but it could not hide the pain she was trying to conceal.
Xin Yi exhaled. How could he explain it to her? It was not her fault she was born into a prestigious family. In a prestigious family, there would be fighting, it just so happens that she was cut in the fight for power.
"Have you informed my dad?" Zhang Luiying queried. There was no need to feel any pain or disappointment, this was something expected.
"Yes, I have, and I also told Father to not take rash decisions, he loves you so much, there is a chance he might confront your Uncle, and that is a risky move, we cannot let them know we are aware of their secrets," Xin Yi replied, and she nodded.
"I am tired, I am mentally drained, I wish to be alone," Zhang Luiying sighed, causing Xin Yi to squint at her.
"Alright then, please take care of yourself, if you need anything, you can just yell out my name, I would be in the study, so I will hear you when you call for me," Xin Yi said to her.
He naturally thought she wanted to take a nap. After all, since she got pregnant, she had spent most of her time sleeping.
"I will," Zhang Luiying smiled at him, as she positioned herself to lay on the bed properly.
Xin Yi walked to the door, and he turned back to look at her, the worry in his eyes intensifying.
"Go, I will call you when I need you," Zhang Luiying urged him, and he exited the room, not after taking one last look at her.
As soon as Xin Yi left the room, Zhang Luiying left the bed. She walked towards her wardrobe.
Once she opened it, she sighed before she searched for a particular black coat.
Once she found it, she stared at it for a while before she draped it around her body.
Zhang Luiying sneakily left the room, as she tiptoed out of the condominium. It was easy for her to do since they had no maids working for them.
Once she made it out of the condo, she walked to her car. As soon as she stepped into the car, she ignited the engine, and drove out of the condo.
Surely, the noise the engine made would have alerted Xin Yi.
Xin Yi was confused by the sound, and at the same time, he became alert. He left the files he was working on, approached the window, and he just so happened to see Zhang Luiying drive out of the house.
He frowned at once, wondering what she was up to.
"Where is she heading to?" He muttered under his breath, before he rushed out as well. It was not time to ponder where she was heading to, but to follow her, and stop her from doing something rash.
He ran to his car, before he entered, and drove off. He seemed to have an idea where she was driving too, and in all honesty, it was dangerous for her to take such a step.
He followed closely after her car, he also tried to call her, but she was not picking her calls.
"Dammit," he cursed under his breath, following after her car slowly..
Zhang Luiying finally realized an abnormality. She seemed to be followed.
She checked who was following her through the rear mirror, and she let out a low curse. She could recognize Xin Yi’s car anywhere, after all, the licence number was a customized one.
"Shit, why is he following me?" She asked herself, as she increased the speed.
"Zhang Luiying, pick up the darn phone," Xin Yi was still trying to get through to her, but Zhang Luiying was stubborn. She was not going to respond to the calls.
Zhang Luiying could see that he was calling her, but she did not pick the call. She knew what he wanted to tell her. He wanted her to return home.
"I am sorry Yi, but I have to end all of these today, it needs to end," Zhang Luiying muttered apologetically, but Xin Yi was not there to listen to it, and with her words, she stepped on the breaks, before dashing off.
"Shit!" Xin Yi cursed for the umpteenth time, before he also increased his speed.

Zhang’s Family Household, Second Branch>
Zhang Luiying sighed as soon as she parked her car. This was her Uncle’s home, and she was here to confront him.
She stepped out of the car, and took slow steps to the mansion.
"Why are you here? And who do you want to see?" Zhang Luiying was stopped by the guards, she did not drive into the mansion.
She gave the guards a stern look.
"My name is Zhang Luiying, the second daughter of the first branch, I request to see my Uncle," Zhang Luiying replied, her voice was firm as she gave the guards a condescending look.
The guards exchanged glances. Surely, they were not expecting her to have such an identity, thus, it came as a surprise to them.
"But our boss is presently not at home, I suggest you go back, and return," one of the guards responded. They have been given strict orders to not let anyone from the first branch into the building, if they did, they could lose their job.
Zhang Luiying narrowed her eyes at them. She could sense the uneasiness they were displaying, and she was sure they were telling a lie.
After coming to this conclusion, she decided that she would not give them another chance. She had promised herself that she was going to see her uncle today, she needed to end all this madness.
She craved for answers, and she could only get these answers from the horse’s mouth.
"I will say it again, I need to see your boss," Zhang Luiying forced out each word.
She had come too far to want to give up. Taking such a risk, and offending Xin Yi in the process, she needed to see the mastermind behind her family’s suffering.
"And we will repeat the same thing, our boss, your Uncle, is not home, you need to leave, or we will be forced to call the police," The guards were also unwilling.
They hoped Zhang Luiying would understand. Their jobs were at stake. They had no idea why their boss would be hiding from people, but it was not their business. They were only paid to guard the door, and protect the members of the family.
Zhang Luiying squinted her eyes as they landed on a particular spot, or rather a person..
Her eyes met with the eyes of another person, and a sinister smile spread on her lips.
"Are you sure your boss is not around?" Zhang Luiying repeated the question, this time her voice was slow and unhurried.
Facing her incessant questioning, the guard was bound to lose his composure.
"We have said it, our boss is not around," the guard who had spoken first replied impatiently.
"Okay," Zhang Luiying replied, her okay was enough to send chills down the guards" spines.
