"Thank you doctor," Gu Guan thanked the doctor, before he also ran out of the office.

The doctor shook her head. She could understand what was going on in Gu Shishi’s head. After all, she was aware of what was going on in the Gu family.

"Did you find her?" Gu Guan caught up with Gu Fen, who had an anxious look on her face.

"I couldn’t, I wonder where she must have run off to, we have treated our daughter wrongly, we were meant to take care of her as she is our princess, but we treated her awfully," Gu Fen plopped into Gu Guan’s arms as tears slipped from her eyes.

She cried a lot, which caused her to feel numb. She could not believe that she hurt her child with her hands, she pushed her child away from her.

"It’s all my fault," she cried against his chest, and Gu Guan sighed.

He had mixed feelings. He was happy she was his daughter, but sad and frustrated due to how he had treated her throughout her entire life.

"Let’s find her first, we will be able to right out wrongs then," Gu Guan advised. Crying and blaming oneself won’t solve the issue.

Gu Fen disengaged from his body, as she sniffed, while wiping her tears with the handkerchief which he handed to her.

"Let’s find our daughter, so we can make it up to her, we need to make it up to her," Gu Fen forced a smile on, as she led Gu Guan searching for Gu Shishi.

Meanwhile, Gu Shishi was in the hospital’s courtyard, sobbing heavily.

She thought about the times when she tried to gain their love, only for them to cast her aside. She would always think about why she was hated.

She was tempted to run, but she thought about it for a second. It was better not to run, rather, there should be a closure.

Gu Shishi remained quiet as they approached her.

"Shishi," Gu Guan called, and one could hear the affection in his voice.

Gu Shishi felt goosebumps all over as she listened to her father call out her name affectionately, this was the first time he would use such a voice to address her.

"Shishi, I know we must have said this countless times, but I would love you to forgive us, we apologize for the way we treated you previously, what we did is not justifiable, but we want to treat you well, you are our daughter, our angel, please give us the chance to make it up to you," Gu Guan apologized as he spoke softly.

Gu Shishi stared at him, her expression was blank as her eyes darted between her mother and father.

"Do you think it is that easy?" Gu Shishi finally opened her mouth to speak.

Gu Guan had an awkward look on his face, and this was because she was right.

"I am right, aren’t I? It isn’t, do you know how much I craved your love and attention? No, you cannot understand it because you were never and would never be in my position," Gu Shishi paused as she took a deep breath.

"You always thought I was a result of rape, the least you could have done was go for a DNA test to confirm, but did you? You didn’t, you relied on your instincts, and this is the result," Gu Shishi shook her head, her face could not hide the disappointment she had.

She sighed in relief. She felt better now that she had let go of all the complaints she had within her.

Gu Fen, who had stopped crying previously, began tearing up. This was because of the truth in Gu Shishi’s words.

The truth in Gu Shishi’s words pierced through her heart.

"I am sorry, mommy is sorry, please forgive me, find it in your heart to forgive me," Gu Fen fell to her knees as she pleaded for mercy. She only hoped her daughter would forgive her.

She was ready to take care of her mistakes. Not only that, but she had so many things she wanted to do with Shishi. Likewise, she truly hoped Gu Shishi would warm up to her.
