"Let’s head home, I’m tired, I don’t even want to think about it," Gu Shishi stated with an exhausted look.

Gu Fen had a smile on her face. Since Gu Shishi had decided to head home, perhaps, it won’t be long before her mistakes were overlooked, and they would bond like mother and daughter.

"Does this mean you forgive us?" Gu Fen asked excitedly.

"The hospital is not the place to discuss this," Gu Shishi stated with a monotonous tone.

Despite the monotony in Gu Shishi’s voice, her words still brought a smile to her parents’ face. As long as she was willing to talk it out with them, then it was all good.

Today was the day Lu Wei was going to be incorporated as the CEO of the company.

The issue was such a funny one. Lu Wei has always been tagged an illegitimate child, but he was the one taking over.

You cannot blame him, he has proved himself to be smarter than his stepbrothers. And no matter how his father hated him, it was a fact that Lu Wei was the best candidate.

But the matter was fishy. Why did Mr. Lu decide to step down, and allow Lu Wei to take over the company? The whole matter was strange.

And this was what Madam Lu was seriously contemplating as she watched Lu Wei climb up the stairs of the podium.

Mr. Lu had just finished giving his speech, and it was time for Lu Wei to give his.

The complete media was invited for this handing over. What was Mr. Lu’s aim? He aimed to let the media see that he actually cared for Lu Wei, and they should disregard any rumor which they heard.

"It is with great honor and pride I stand before you all today, I have been chosen as the next person to take over my family’s business, and I know you all know me as an actor, this was the identity I carved out myself," Lu Wei paused as his eyes met with Mr. Lu who had a forced smile on his face.

Lu Wei ignored him, before turning his head to look at Madam Lu, and she gave him an encouraging smile which was all he needed.

"I would like to assure you that I will do my best to take Lu’s Corporation to another height, please disregard my identity as an actor because I studied business as well," Lu Wei joked, and everyone present laughed.

Well, everyone except Mr. Lu and his son, Lu Feng.

Lu Feng watched as Lu Wei got all the recognition, and applause, and his heart turned sour. It was evident on his face that he was not happy about this arrangement.

"Put a smile on your face, you would not want the media to think that you are not happy for your brother’s sake," Mr. Lu, who noticed him, warned him in a low voice.

"But father, he is just an illegitimate child, why does he need such recognition?" Lu Feng asked in annoyance.

Although, he was in on the plan. When the time came for him to witness it, he still felt a big pain in his heart.

"Endure it, recall that this is our plan, this is the best way to get rid of him," Mr. Lu advised with a lower voice as he watched Lu Wei continue his speech.

Madam Lu, on the other hand, was elated. She was glad that Lu Wei was able to gain the recognition he deserved. She was in a good mood.

"I don’t understand why mom is happy, she is meant to rage about your decision, sometimes, I wonder if she is really my mom, her actions leave me confused," Lu Feng complained.

Mr. Lu’s countenance fell for a while, before he regained his composure.

"You did not need to worry about your mom, but rather, you should focus on the plan," Mr. Lu stated.

Lu Feng had no other choice than to remain quiet, although, he was in an awful mood. He still felt disgruntled.

Well, he could not be blamed. He had never had a good relationship with his mother since he was young, and the insecurities stemmed since he was a kid.

"And with that, I am happy to take over this wonderful establishment, I vow to take this company to the next level, levels which our predecessors dared not to think about," Lu Wei promised with a smile, ending his speech at the same time.

He was followed by a round of applause. The applause was enthusiastic.

As he was about to take a step down from the podium, a gunshot was heard. It was aimed at Lu Wei.

Luckily, Lu Wei was able to dodge in time.

His eyes widened when he heard the noise. Madam Lu, on the other hand, jumped to her feet in fear.

"Lu Wei!" She screamed in fear. Perhaps, due to her scream, the people who were frozen from shock regained their senses, and the atmosphere became rowdy immediately as they all broke into a frenzy.

"Someone, save my son, don’t worry about me," Madam Lu cried out as the gunshots continued. Lu Wei was trying his best to dodge, but it was not easy as the gunshots were coming from different angles.

She and Mr. Lu, alongside Lu Feng, had been brought to safety by the guards. Currently, they were out of the hall, but Lu Wei was still in the hall.

It was clear that he was the target.

"Why are you here? Your son is being targeted, and you are seated comfortably, what sort of father are you? Give the orders to save my son, those guards only follow your orders," When Madam Lu realized that Mr. Lu stood without any care in the world, she lashed out at him.

The hall had already been emptied by this time.

"Why are you so concerned about him? He isn’t even your blood, he is a stain, so it is best he dies," Mr. Lu replied nonchalantly.

His words caused Madam Lu to part her lips in shock.
