"I cannot believe that you will be this cruel, isn’t he the son you had with the woman you loved? Isn’t he a symbol of the love shared between you and his mother? Then why do you have intense hatred towards him?" Madam Lu questioned, her chest heaving heavily.

Mr. Lu pocketed as he stared down at the middle-aged lady who vented her anger. His silence was particularly annoying, and this vexed her immensely.

"You know what, I’m going in to save my son, I consider him to be my son, so I must save him," Madam Lu stated firmly as she rushed into the hall with her heart in her mind.

By this time, the shooting had already ceased, and she did not know what she was supposed to think. She could only hope that Lu Wei was saved.

"Dad, won’t you stop mom?" Lu Feng asked curiously as he watched his mother storm into the hall.

He only heaved a sigh when he realized they were the only ones there.

"Father, what are you trying to say? I am confused, you need to analyse it properly, and make me understand," Lu Feng begged, one could hear the urgency in his tone.

"It is as you understand, I swapped both of you at birth, why should I allow the child of the woman I love to be tagged an illegitimate child?" Mr. Lu yelled out.

Lu Feng remained quiet. Although, he did not want to justify his father’s actions, he could not deny that he was selfish, and he loved that his father took such a step.

"But father, won’t the truth come out? I don’t want to be tagged an illegitimate child?" Lu Feng aired his worries.

Mr. Lu looked at his son who had accepted the truth, and did not blame, and there was a proud look on his face.

"All those who were present during that time have all gone to the great beyond," Mr. Lu replied with a smug smile, while Lu Feng gasped.

"Do you mean they are dead?" Lu Feng whispered.

"What do you think?" Mr Lu asked with a smile.

Lu Feng chuckled darkly. The similarities between he and his father are uncanny. They were built in the same form.

Meanwhile, Madam Lu who had rushed into the hall was petrified at the scene.

Lu Wei was lying on the floor, and he was covered in blood.

"Lu Wei," Madam Lu screamed, rushing to him.

She immediately pulled him into her arms, while tears escaped from her eyes. Lu Wei was unconscious.

"Lu Wei, you don’t need to worry, mommy is here, I will send you to the hospital, you will be safe, okay?" Madam Lu cried, while still holding on to him.

Madam Lu had called the ambulance who arrived, and they took Lu Wei to the hospital, with Madam Lu accompanying them.

Mr. Lu and Lu Feng had unbothered looks on their faces when the doctors wheeled Lu Wei in.

The media was present as well, and of course, the news had already made it to the internet.

The fans of Lu Wei were all outraged, and they collectively cursed the Lu family for failing to take care of their idol.

"Doctor, how is he?" Madam Lu rushed to her feet when she noticed the doctor step out of the ICU.

"He is quite agile, he was able to dodge the bullets, and avoid them from hitting his vital parts, this could be something he learnt from acting, he is lucky," the doctor complimented, and a proud smile appeared on her face.

"He is my son, so it is expected," she spoke proudly, and the doctor chuckled.

"You can go in, I will be in my office, if you need anything, you will be directed to me, and be careful, the media will be here soon," The doctor advised before walking away.

Madam Lu let out a sigh of relief as she walked into the ward where Lu Wei had been transferred.

"Lu Wei, I don’t know why something like this happened, and on your big day as well, I am happy you were able to pull through," Madam Lu sat on the stool as she held his hands with tears in her eyes.

"It is good you are fine, honestly, I don’t trust your father, could he be the reason for your current condition? There is every reason for me to doubt him, he is very suspicious," Madam Lu paused as dhe watched his peaceful face.
