Rebirth: The Heiress Plans Her Revenge-Chapter 73: Threatened
Chapter 73: Chapter 73: Threatened
"I think it is time I paid a visit to the elder of your family; I believe he will be pleased to see me and you," he said, pausing to look at Jiang Lanfen, who took a large gulp.
"I guess the problems I caused in your father’s company are not enough; get ready for more," he threatened, but it was not a threat.
Li Qiang always follows through on his promises. Jiang Lanfen’s eyes widened as she fell to the ground with a loud thud, fear palpable in her gaze.
"You cannot do that," she yelled, causing Li Qiang to stop in his tracks.
He turned to face her, Xin Yan still in his arms, and scoffed, "You do not tell me what to do," he said before walking away.
"I am doomed," Jiang Lanfen exclaimed while still slumped on the floor.
Tang Mei’s eyes gleamed as she tightened her fists. She was not willing to give up. She claimed that the presence of Li Qiang was responsible for Xin Yan’s survival.
"No, I cannot give up; I will have to do something; if I could get to her when Li Qiang was present, how much more when he is not?" Tang Mei was delusional as she spoke to herself, loud enough for the two, a man’s lackey and Jiang Lanfen.
The man looked at her and assumed she had gone insane. He shook his head before getting into his car and driving away, completely shocking Jiang Lanfen.
The man did not want to have anything to do with the two ladies or else he might not know how he ended up dying.
Jiang Lanfen turned to Tang Mei, who was still talking to herself, and shook her head before struggling to stand.
"What do you intend to do?" Jiang Lanfen questioned. Though she did not want to give up, Li Qiang’s threat lingered in her mind. If she tried anything else, her father’s company might go down in flames.
But, somewhere deep inside, she was unwilling. She did not want to give up. Xin Yan had turned her life into a living hell, and she would not be at peace unless she saw her suffer.
Tang Mei looked at her with disgust. She was well aware that collaborating with her had been a bad decision. She must be a bad omen.
"Do not ask me; you are on your own from now on," Tang Mei sneered before getting into her car and driving away, leaving Jiang Lanfen rooted in place.
"Did she just abandon me?" How do I get home now?" Jiang Lanfen asked no one in particular as she looked around with a puzzled expression.
Li Qiang hurriedly went to his car. He unlocked the door and seated Xin Yan in the back seat. Li Chuxi let out a sigh of relief when she saw her mother.
"She is safe; we can go home now," he told her, and she agreed.
Li Qiang started the car and drove away, abruptly ending the family outing.
When they arrived home, Li Qiang carried Xin Yan into her room. She was still not awake.
He laid her on the bed and assisted her in removing her shoes before joining her.
Li Chuxi trailed behind, holding her hands behind her back. Li Qiang looked in her direction and smiled as he saw her standing there.
"Come," he beckoned, and she gladly skipped over to him.
"Your mother will wake up soon; just give her some time, okay?" She nodded in response to what he said.
"Can I lie down next to her?" She asked tentatively, and he nodded, giving her permission.
Li Chuxi happily took a spot beside Xin Yan, but she was careful not to get too close to her because she was still recovering.
*Xin Corp.*
When Xin Yi took over from Xin Yan, he faced numerous challenges. However, he did not let it bother him.
He had repeatedly slapped their faces with results.
He was currently in his office, listening to some reports from his assistant.
"So the shareholders believe I am incapable; are they so blind to see what I have accomplished in the last few days?" Xin Yi twirled the pen in his fingers, smiling as he looked at his assistant.
He shivered slightly. He had no idea that the President could be so terrifying.
Actually, he was just a regular office worker, but when he learned that he had been promoted to Assistant, he was overjoyed and accepted the position immediately.
He felt like that was the biggest mistake he would ever made in his twenty-eight years of life.
If he could go back in time, he would have declined the offer. Xin Yi was far more brutal than Xin Yan was.
This was the reason Xin Yan desired him as president. She recognised his abilities and trusted him. And he was clearly demonstrating his capability.
"I am sorry, sir, but this is how the shareholders feel, and there is nothing I can do about it," his assistant, Shen Wenping, said with a tired smile.
He could have resigned, but he was in need of money. His younger sister was in the hospital, and he needed all of the money he could get.
"Hmmm, you are correct; Do we not have a meeting soon, then let us go; these shareholders are quite less busy, maybe we should keep them busy," Xin Yi thought aloud, scaring his assistant on behalf of the shareholders who were about to be kept busy due to their personalities.
*The Tang Mansion*
Tang Mei drove in and entered with a heavy expression. She was still irritated that her plans had not worked out.
She yanked a vase off a table, startling the maids who were working.
The noise made by the vase alerted her father, who immediately left his study to investigate what was going on.
He let out a sigh, realizing she was the one.
He said nothing because he knew she was having her usual tantrum.
"What is the problem again?" Tang Mo walked downstairs, only to see the mess his little sister had made, and he felt a headache coming on.
Tang Mei looked at him with red eyes and spat, "It is none of your business," before walking away, leaving a stunned Tang Mo
