Rebirth: The unfavored Princess is the Tyrant King's favorite-Chapter 134: Nick or Nicholas?
"How dare you?! Today I’m going to kill you!" Nicholas growled.
Before Luciana could blink, Nicholas’ fist had connected with David’s face as it cracked, and his nose and mouth immediately burst with blood.
Everything happened in a blur, too fast for Luciana to comprehend. She watched in horror as the heavy sounds of bones cracking filled the air.
"Nick, please! Let him go!" She yelled in fear but he didn’t even budge.
This was a one-sided assault. David had never been Nicholas’ match when it came to strength; it was just that Nicholas liked to play fair, so anytime they both fought, he made sure to use minimal strength.
He didn’t like playing dirty, but today’s case was different. David called him a monster... but that wasn’t what irked him.
He had seen her nakedness, and because of him, Luciana kept lying to him again and again.
Luciana continued to beg Nick to let David go, but Nicholas continued to hit David with the strength of a thousand men, and David had no chance to defend himself even when he tried.
’He was going to kill him!’
Luciana knew just how possessive Nick was. That was why she lied. She knew David would be sentenced to death by him the minute he found out.
Nick was already in a bad mood, and she was walking on eggshells around him, but who knew David would arrive and say such things when she had somewhat already appeased the devil?
Luciana knew she couldn’t continue standing by the side, watching and yelling alone, so even though she was scared, she hurled herself at his right hand, clutching it with all her might. But that seemed to make him even angrier.
He flung her away like a kite, and Luciana weightlessly flew in the air landing on the ground in a sorry state.
"Stop crying for him or else I’ll kill you too!" He snarled, his voice thundering with such power that Luciana shivered in fear, but what made her even more shocked was his eyes; it was as if blue flames were dancing in them.
Instinctively, she knew it; there was a gut feeling in her throat. This was not her Nick, she recalled similar eyes staring down at her several days ago in the middle of the night in Nick’s chambers.
That dreamlike state of someone brushing cold fingers on her skin, that moment when she had woken up and had been nearly kissed by that cold-looking Nicholas with similar eyes.
’It was him.’
As Luciana lay on the ground, a sharp pain coursed through her, settling in her abdomen, and her vision began to double and soon dizziness followed.
’Her baby! No, she couldn’t lose her baby! She just found out today!’
Luciana didn’t know if this Nick—this spirit of death would listen to her if she called for help but she knew she had to try.
"Nic—Nicholas, please save me, I’m pregnant. My baby, it can’t die," she weakly said.
Luciana had wanted to call him "Nick" but the words instinctively got stuck in her throat. Something within her screamed at her to call him Nicholas instead, and like magic, he stopped.
"Luciana," he called out in fear as if he had just realized what he had done. He stood up from David’s limp body and approached the little woman on the ground. Luciana didn’t know if David was still alive after the brutality he had suffered.
Nicholas crouched beside her and brought his hand towards her face. She flinched, and he dropped his hand as if afraid of her rejection.
Luciana’s blurry gaze lingered on his glassy blue eyes in fear. Her breathing became heavier, coming out in pants, but before her eyes closed, she begged in a ragged voice.
"Save my baby...Please..." she lost consciousness after saying those words falling limply against him.
At the same time, James, Adam, and Amirion appeared at the scene and saw David lying in a pool of blood and Nicholas standing tall and mighty with Luciana in his arms.
"Take care of him," Nicholas said and began to walk away.
"One of you should immediately summon the imperial physician to my estate. Now!" he ordered and continued to walk away with Luciana in his arms.
"I’ll go and get the physician," Amirion said and walked out of the enclosure only to find the prince was nowhere to be found, it was as if he disappeared into thin air.
"Didn’t the prince come out of the enclosure just now? How did he walk away so fast?" Amirion mumbled under his breath.
Even though he felt it was strange, he hurriedly went to fetch the physician.
’Nothing must happen to the princess under his watch. Soon, the eldest prince would leave the capital for his trip, and that would be the right time to kidnap the princess and take her back to Zubrekacadesh,’ Amirion inwardly told himself.

Adam and James watched the half-dead Second Prince on the ground, and their brows furrowed in worry and confusion.
"What did you think happened here? Why would the prince lash out like that and beat the second prince to this extent?" James asked.
He had thought the man was dead since he lay there unmoving and not making any sounds. Luckily, they found he still had a pulse; it was weak, but it was something at least.
"I think it is that witch’s fault; she’s the only one who can make the prince act this way," Adam snapped, irritation lacing his voice.
"This princess consort is trouble reincarnated. What is going to happen to our prince if the emperor finds out?" Adam added in worry, watching Prince David’s mangled face.
He couldn’t even make out his features; everything looked bloody, mangled, and broken. His one eye was bleeding severely, it would take a miracle for him to use that eye again, he was certain of it.
"You should watch how you address the princess consort, the prince wouldn’t like it if he finds out. Do you want to end up like this?" James warned, pointing to the bloody figure on the ground.
Adam averted his gaze and sighed in frustration.
"How did our usually calm prince become so careless? We must move the second prince somewhere no one knows in the meantime and attend to him. Let’s be discreet, there are still guests roaming the palace grounds," Adam said.
James nodded, but he stared at Adam as if he wanted to say something but he was hesitating.
"Adam, didn’t you feel anything strange about the prince when we walked in? I can’t place it but there’s something different about him."
