Rebirth: The unfavored Princess is the Tyrant King's favorite-Chapter 143: I can’t risk it
"I...I take it back!" Dora begged, hoping he’d release his grip on her, but he even held her tighter as his lips inched closer to hers again.
Dora acted fast and placed her palms on his mouth.
"I’ve been gone for too long, the princess might be looking for me," Dora said.
"Let’s go together, I’ll tell the princess consort and the eldest prince what happened and why you took so long," James said. He had heard the door of the prince’s study opening when he was kissing her; he was sure the prince had already returned to his chambers and was already with his wife.
"No! You can’t tell the princess what happened!" Dora exclaimed looking horrified.
"Why do you look so scared?"
"Let’s just wait for some time and see. If we tell them now, what would happen if we realize we don’t want to be together later? We might realize we don’t want this to continue in future and I don’t want to make any hasty decisions," Dora reasoned.
James’ gaze darkened at her words.
"Why don’t I understand what you are saying? Dora, we just kissed," he said, as if she was supposed to understand where he was coming from.
"James, can we talk about this later? I really need to go," she insisted, and James freed her.
"Fine." He said one word and turned to walk away leaving her alone, causing Dora to look at him in confusion.
’Why did he seem angry?’ she thought, puzzled.
But she knew her mistress might be looking for her and decided to deal with James later. She was supposed to have returned a long time ago.

"There you are, where did you go when you were supposed to be resting?" Luciana said when she saw Nicholas walking through the doors.
"Don’t tell me you miss me already?" Nicholas said as he approached her; the maids had outdone themselves again, making her look even more beautiful.
The maids lowered their heads and shyly smiled. They were already used to the blatant display of affection between the eldest prince and his consort.
"Leave us," Nicholas said, and the maids hurriedly excused themselves, leaving them alone.
"You look breathtaking," he complimented her and she smiled at his compliment.
"Thank you, husband," she whispered and his eyes gleamed in response with something indescribable.
"Come over here and lie down; I must make sure you have some much-needed rest before I venture out; otherwise, knowing you, you are going to wait for me until I return and won’t get any rest," Luciana said, and Nicholas speechlessly stared at her.
’Would it be too late to tell her he had planned on going together with her?’ Nicholas thought.
How could he allow her to go and have a talk with the second prince alone without him being present? She wanted to go and pay a visit to the crown prince of Florendel too, and that too looking beautiful like a goddess.
Nicholas watched her tongue-tied, not knowing how to put his words across because he could see it on her face that she already thought he had agreed to let her go alone.
"I’m not tired, I don’t feel sleepy," Nicholas protested, hoping she would suggest they should go together.
"No way, you are tired and you must sleep. Your face looks tired, and I can see the dark circles under your eyes, so please be a good husband and come and lie down...Please..."
Seeing how worried she looked and her saying please two times made it difficult for him to say no to her.
So like a docile lamb to the slaughter, he made his way to the large bed and laid on it.
"Would you keep me company?" He asked and added,
"Just stay with me for a while until I fall asleep and then you can go," Nicholas said. He had intentionally said that hoping to pretend to fall asleep and follow her later as soon as she left.
Nicholas had underestimated how tired he was; Luciana had laid beside him on the bed, her hands rubbing his biceps up and down to make him relax, and by the time he realized, he had fallen asleep.
Luciana watched how he was frowning and looked cold even when he was sleeping and smiled. She felt fatigued all of a sudden and wanted to rest her eyes for a while but unknowingly fell asleep.
~~~
"Oh gods, oh gods, what the hell happened?" Luciana cried out in alarm when she woke up, she could tell it was morning from the faint chirping of birds and the crow of the rooster.
Nicholas woke up due to the noise, opened his eyes, and saw an angry Luciana glaring at him.
"You tricked me!" She exclaimed and he stared at her in confusion.
"What have I done?" He asked, his voice still having a hint of sleepiness in it.
"You must have done it on purpose!" She accused,
"I was watching over you to sleep but I just woke up. Thanks to you I couldn’t even go out like I intended."
Nicholas felt like bursting out into laughter but knew he couldn’t tease her now that she looked like a volcanic lava about to erupt.
"That means you don’t pay attention to your own body too. You also slept the whole time and throughout the night just like me. It shows you were still tired, but you didn’t even notice, and you were planning to go out there running around without caring for your health," he said calmly, and she lowered her head in embarrassment.
"Yes, I guess you’re right; I didn’t pay attention to my body," Luciana admitted.
"Since we’re both well rested, let’s take a bath and have breakfast," he said and added,
"I’ll go with you later to visit the second prince and the crown prince of Florendel."
"I think I should go alone," Luciana said.
"You’re still so weak and need special attention, have you thought of how worried I’d be if you happen to fall out there? I can’t risk it; let’s just go together, okay?"
Luciana saw that his words made sense since he was still so worried about her and slowly nodded.
"Okay," she said.
Nicholas inwardly grinned like a Cheshire cat, knowing he had gotten his way.
