Rebirth: The unfavored Princess is the Tyrant King's favorite-Chapter 41: What a coincidence
"Good, cute, chubby, fat cat, I just want to be your friend," Luciana said and stretched her hands to pat Lord Algrith.
Feeling angry at Luciana for calling him fat and chubby, he really gave it his all to look angry and scary this time and hissed at her; he was really annoyed by the princess making fun of him.
Even Luciana was caught off guard and fearfully retracted her outstretched hand.
"Princess Consort, be careful; its claws are sharp," Dominic cautioned. He had nearly pulled her back but remembered the slap she gave him for touching her earlier and hesitated.
"Don’t worry; I just need to coax him a little," Luciana said and crouched down before the cat and said in a whisper.
"Would you stop overdoing it? You don’t have to act defensive now; allow me to carry you."
"Let’s be friends, okay? I will give you delicious food and back rubs; just let me pet you," she said, and this time, she slowly petted the cat, and it meowed contentedly. Luciana tried to carry Lord Algrith and was surprised at how heavy he was.
"Seriously, what have you been eating? You are so heavy," she commented, and Lord Algrith nearly jumped out of her hands in anger if not for the guard, who was still holding his sword in a murderous stance a few meters away.
He would, at most, be severely hurt and not die, but he wasn’t willing to be slashed by the sharp-looking sword. Why was the princess always making fun of his looks?
Dora worriedly looked at her mistress and the cat and voiced her concerns.
"My lady, don’t you think it might become aggressive again and cause more damage? I think you shouldn’t be impulsive and rethink your decision of wanting to raise this cat. Cats have violent tendencies," Dora advised.
"You should tell your maid I’m not like other cats." ’Violent tendencies, my foot; why should she accuse me without knowing my real character?" Lord Algrith complained in a dissatisfied voice. Only Luciana could hear him, though; Dora and Dominic thought he was meowing.
"Don’t worry about this little guy; I can handle him," Luciana said and added,
"Call someone to come and get rid of the shards. You can leave us alone now," Luciana said, and even though Dora wanted to stay, she felt the princess indeed didn’t want her to be meddling.
"Right away, my lady," she said and bowed, making her way out of the princess consort’s chambers with Dominic, who also excused himself from the princess consort’s presence.
"I’ll take my leave now, my lady."
Luciana nodded and leisurely strolled towards her bed and sat on it with the cat still lying in her arms. When she realized they were alone, she apologized.
"I’m sorry for telling them you’re the one who caused it. It was the only plausible excuse at the time."
"I know," Lord Algrith said.
"But can you tell me what happened just a moment ago?" He asked.
"I don’t know what it was. It was as if I saw a glimpse of the future or a vision, or I could be daydreaming, but it felt all too real," Luciana said.
"The gift of divination, seeing into the future," Lord Algrith said.
"If you have begun to have glimpses of the future, then this is bad; we must hurry and break the curse," the cat said and added after a beat.
"Now, calm down, princess; you must not panic and let your fears cloud your judgment. I didn’t say what I said to scare you, but you must try to gain control of your emotions at all times. It would be best if you didn’t act on what you are feeling in the moment; you must seize the moment and own it. This is the time to take the reins and rule your destiny."
"Do you think I can do that? I don’t even know what is happening to me," Luciana voiced, a hint of fear and concern in her tone.
"Don’t fret, my lady; if there’s someone I know who can do this, it’s you. Everything might seem stronger than you are, but trust me, my princess, you shall succeed. I always win, so since I bet on you, you are going to come out of this triumphant." Lord Algrith said.
He knew this wasn’t the time to also act uncertain and make her panic. She needed his assurance more than ever. Even though he didn’t know why everything was happening so fast, it was best to not say anything that would make her lose confidence in herself.
"The glimpses of the future, the one you just called the gift of divination. Does everything I see in the vision always happen?" Luciana asked.
"What did you see in your vision, my lady?"
"People, I saw lots of people, and they looked at me with hatred and murderous intent; they wanted to burn me alive; they wanted to kill me," Luciana said.
"Sometimes the visions are not always accurate. You might even see glimpses of your own fears as visions, and it might not mean anything. I suggest the princess consort does not fuss over something we are not so sure about," Lord Algrith advised.
"My lady, it’s Bella. May I have your permission to come in and clean the room?" Bella said, and Luciana knew she could only continue this conversation with Lord Algrith later.
"What do you say? Let’s go and find something to eat," Luciana said and walked out with the cat in her arms.
"I thought you weren’t going to ask," Lord Algrith said.
Luciana walked out of her chambers and told Bella to clean up the room while she and Lord Algrith went to have their meals.

The next day,
After a long chat with Lord Algrith about the curse and how to control her emotions, Luciana went to sleep, and for the first time after her rebirth, she didn’t have any dreams or nightmares.
After she woke up, she hurriedly had her bath, got dressed with the help of her maids, and made herself as presentable as possible. After that, she had her breakfast, and together with Dora, Esther, and Lord Algrith, they boarded the carriage and made their way to the Pearl Auction House.
Dominic also followed along, saying he couldn’t let her leave his sight in the prince’s absence. Luciana made her way to the auction house, not having any idea that she had company ever since she left the prince’s manor.
David, who had been keeping an eye out for the princess consort after he heard Nicholas was not in the capital and finding a way to visit her without raising suspicions, was pleasantly surprised when he was informed that the princess consort was leaving the eldest Prince’s manor and had immediately followed her.
"We have arrived, princess consort," the coachman said, and Luciana decided to get down from the carriage only to come face to face with David. He was offering his hand for her to hold.
"What a coincidence. Princess Consort also came to the auction house," he said.
Luciana stared at his outstretched hand, feeling a sense of déjà vu. It was just like the first scene in her dream.
