Rebirth: The unfavored Princess is the Tyrant King's favorite-Chapter 53: You are my wife
That was all it took to bring Luciana to her senses. ’Was she crazy? Doing such disgraceful things with him in such a place,’ she chided herself inwardly and shoved him off her. But he was as sturdy as a mountain, not moving an inch against her efforts.
"Shhhh," he hushed, seeing her panicked expression.
"Your Highness, your Highness, are you in there?" The knocks and Adam’s worried voice rang out.
"Should I kill him for interrupting us?" He asked, and for the first time, Luciana nearly agreed. After all, she didn’t like Adam just as he also didn’t like her. You could say the feeling was mutual, but he was a loyal servant to Nicholas after all, and he had saved Nicholas in her past life. That should count for something.
"No," she said.
"I thought you disliked him; shouldn’t you want him dead?" He asked.
"He’s a breathing human," Luciana said; at the same time, her ears perked up hearing another approaching footstep.
"Have you found His Highness? I thought the staff said he saw him entering this room." James’ voice sounded behind the door, and Adam answered,
"I think he’s in there. Maybe he’s busy?"
"Busy with what?" James asked back.
"Are you an idiot? What do you think he would be busy with when he’s with the princess consort? Maybe they are discussing war strategies," Adam snapped with a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
Luciana heard everything that was said between Adam and James and wished she could take her words back. It seems killing Adam wouldn’t be so bad.
"We should leave; it must be something important," she said in a low voice, not wanting Adam to hear her. From what they were saying, it meant they had asked the staff about the prince’s whereabouts, and she didn’t want to stay a moment longer in this room with Nicholas.
’It was too embarrassing,’ she could only imagine what everyone was thinking and imagining in their heads after they realized she was locked up in here with him all this while.
"You look so scared; it’s as if you are afraid of people seeing you with me. I don’t mind; we could stay here and continue what we were doing until nightfall. Let’s return to the manor when they are asleep," he said, and she glared at him.
He chuckled, seeing how she puckered her lips, which were now slightly plump due to his kisses, and glared at him in anger.
’Does she have any idea what her actions were doing to him?’
It was her lack of awareness of how alluring and mesmerizing she was that drew him in. It was how she effortlessly seduced him without doing anything. He could tell how she had no idea she looked like a vixen, seducing him and tempting him to do wicked and sinful things to her.
He leaned in again and tried to kiss her when she placed her palms on his mouth to stop him.
’Why was he still in the mood to be mischievous? Didn’t he hear his men were looking for him?’ Luciana thought.
He sneakily pushed out his tongue and licked her palms, causing her eyes to widen and pull her hand away from his mouth.
"You shouldn’t stop me when I want to kiss you," he said.
"You brute," she cussed.
"It’s because it’s you," he said and brushed his thumb over her juicy lips.
"Besides, I’m like this because you seduced me," he whispered hoarsely. Feeling angry at how he was still messing around, Luciana caught his thumb between her teeth and pressed her lips on it, biting him and releasing it when she saw the predatory look on his face.
"Nick, please, your men are outside the door; they are going to hear you; why are you still in the mood to kiss?" She whispered in exasperation.
His eyes darkened at her actions. ’Why was she so naive? Does she know that what she was doing was turning him on further?’
The knocks sounded again, and this time, Adam stated his mission.
"Your Highness, it’s half an hour past the meeting time; the Emperor wouldn’t like it if you kept him waiting."
Hearing the emperor could be waiting for Nicholas, Luciana shoved him off with all her might, and she didn’t know if it was him allowing himself to be pushed or if she had become stronger in the blink of an eye, but he moved this time around.
"I’m here with you; what are you so scared of?" He asked and turned to look at the door as if his eyes were going to drill a hole through them and kill Adam.
"Knock the door one more time and see what I do to you," he declared.
Behind the door, James and Adam looked at each other with meaningful gazes. Adam stared at James with a look that said, "I told you so."
"Yes, your Highness," they both chorused in answer to his words.
Luciana, who was now sitting on the bed, looked like she was about to faint. When she sat up, her hair messily fell all over her shoulders and face, causing her to panic. When that man grabbed her in the market, she had not retouched her hair because it wasn’t so bad then, but after lying on the bed and moving her body here and there because of him, her hair had come loose. And there was no mirror in sight; how was she going to fix her looks? She couldn’t go out looking like this.
Nicholas saw her panicked expression full of terror and coaxed in the softest voice he owned.
"Calm down, Luciana... Look at me... Breathe."
"I look like a mess; I can’t go out looking so unpresentable; what would people say?"
"We are newlyweds; they would understand that we would want to be close to each other and be sexually active now more than ever," he said, and Luciana stared at him in horror.
"You are only saying that because you are a man. Imagine what they will say about me in the future when I become the crown princess or maybe the empress. They will whisper about what I did with you in an auction house when I was just a princess consort," she said, her voice full of fear, only to hear Nicholas laugh.
It was the first time Luciana saw such a genuine expression of happiness on his face in both lives.
"I’m in this situation because of you, and you are laughing?" she asked, displeased.
"Would you calm down if I tell you I’ll help you fix your hair and make you look presentable?" He said, and Luciana stared at him in surprise. ’He would do that? For her?’
"You would do that for me?" She asked, the words tumbling out of her mouth before she could stop herself.
"What is wrong with that? You are my wife, aren’t you?" Nicholas asked back. After hearing how Luciana spoke about the future as if she was 100% sure she would become the crown princess and empress, it made him feel happy.
She spoke about the future with him. Could it be that she really didn’t want to leave him and that everything was a misunderstanding?
Because Luciana could only become the crown princess and later the empress if he became the crown prince and the emperor by extension. The thought made him so happy he wanted to scream. Since he was in a good mood, he diligently began to help her get dressed and helped with her hair and fixing her attire.
Luciana allowed him to do what he pleased since she wasn’t going to see how she looked if she did it herself.
Nicholas finished making her presentable and was appreciating his skills when a thought crossed his mind. It looked like the deities wanted to torture him; he couldn’t even be happy in peace.
’David might become a crown prince and emperor if things went in his favor. Could it be that Luciana was talking about being a crown princess and empress with David in mind? It was no secret that he and David were both suitable candidates for the crown prince position.’ The more he thought of it, the more his good mood plummeted.
"Do you think I would be the next crown prince?" He asked out of the blue, and Luciana stared at him in confusion; what sort of question was that?
"Why are you suddenly asking such a strange question?" Luciana asked back.
"Answer me, you don’t need to know," he said.
