Rebirth: The Universe's Hidden Heiress-Chapter 117: Pinky’s Show (2)
Chapter 117: Pinky’s Show (2)
The people online, with their remarkable resourcefulness, dug up a previously suppressed kidnapping case and compared Yuka’s and Hideki’s appearances. They managed to uncover Yuka’s true background from these clues.
[So, the person who could rank among the top ten beauties of the Alliance, effortlessly defeat space pirates, and is the first in underground arena history to win both the singles and team championships, is actually the only daughter of the Alliance’s wealthiest family??]
[Who’s feeling jealous? OK, it’s me.]
[Wow, a real-life Chosen One.]
[Sob, I don’t even dare call her my baby now, I don’t think I’m worthy.]
[Just thinking, guys, I have an immature idea. The Alliance Fleet Admiral elections are happening, right? I want to vote for Pinky, what do you think?]
[Aren’t we only supposed to vote for the candidates? How can we vote for The Chosen One?]
[On the voting website, there’s a small box under the candidates list. See it? It says "Other." Just fill in Pinky’s name after "Other," and submit it.]
Consequently, the website’s administrator saw a surge in the use of the previously untouched "Other Recommended Candidate" option, with the numbers refreshing every second. Hurriedly, they created a new candidate link with Yuka’s basic information, squeezing her into the existing list of candidates, and added a note in the "Other" section to direct later voters to Yuka’s voting column.
In the meeting room of the Alliance Army headquarters, General Fleet Admiral watched the effect of the message he had sent out, smiling relaxedly as the situation unfolded as planned.
’Yuka will always belong to the Alliance Army, and no ’agreement’ can change that.’
Outside the Alliance system, Bartland had seen the death of his space pirates in Misty Land and Yuka shining brightly before the entire Alliance. Now Yuka had even squeezed into the General Fleet Admiral candidate list.
Bartland wore an extremely dark expression and said to a subordinate, "Send another team."
The subordinate felt a chill. Although he always knew Bartland was an unpredictable madman, he hadn’t expected this level of insanity.
The guy then remembered the insectoid swarm waiting at the edge of the Alliance.
Suddenly, he realized that with the insectoids serving him, Bartland now no longer valued his people’s lives.
Bravely, the guy whispered, "Sir, we don’t have enough men... we can’t send more."
With a "crack," Bartland withdrew his bloodied hand, looking at his subordinate.
A shattered skull rolled on the ground.
Bartland opened his mouth, his voice harsh, "No one defies me!"
He swore he’d crush the entire Alliance under his feet, becoming its only ruler.
Yuka was still unaware she was the thorn in Bartland’s side. She also didn’t know that her true identity had been exposed by eager netizens who had prepared a huge surprise for her.
The butler, monitoring all live broadcasts, reported to Yuka, "Five hundred meters east, two mechas are trapped, with five space pirate mechas."
Yuka immediately headed east, and along the whole way, she could hear the sounds of combat nearby.
Before approaching the mechas obscured in the thick fog, Yuka reconfirmed with the butler that these were enemy space pirate mechas. She then let her heavy hammer fly forward, knocking down one of them.
A tall young man, struggling against the space pirate attack, paused.
Beside him, Donny quickly reacted, thrusting her long sword into the fallen mecha’s cockpit, eliminating a space pirate.
She then raised his sword to block another mecha’s attack, yelling at the tall young man, "Why are you just standing there?"
The tall young man snapped back to reality and started shooting at the space pirate in front of him.
Nearby, another space pirate quickly reacted, grabbing Yuka’s not fully retracted chain with a mechanical hand, attempting to pull the hidden ally out of the mist.
Yuka pulled back sharply, dragging the mecha into the fog, right in front of her.
The pilot fall midway; Yuka seized the opportunity while he was rolling on the ground. With one punch, she smashed into his cockpit, breaking through the mecha.
The space pirate couldn’t understand how a person could be so strong, even until his death. When his companions saw him dragged into the mist, they rushed to chase after Yuka. Instead, Yuka kicked one back towards the central battlefield, landing right in front of the tall young man.
The enemy was delivered right to the young man, weakened and unable to retaliate immediately. According to Yuka’s plan, this young man should be able to take over the slowed pace of battle and eliminate another space pirate, reducing the combat pressure.
But at that moment, something unexpected happened.
The tall young man was originally an infantry specialization student with not a very high psychic power level, and he could only pilot a modified Pneyon model mecha.
He had already used up much of his psychic power in the recent fight, now somewhat mentally dazed and partly out of sync with his mecha. All that made his movements much slower, almost as if he was just standing there.
When he reconnected with his mecha and tried to stab his long sword into the cockpit of the fallen mecha, it was already too late.
Another enemy mecha stabbed its sword into the shoulder of the tall young man’s mecha from behind.
The young man staggered forward, and the mecha on the ground took the chance to roll over, aiming at Yuka, who was preparing to help Donny with her hammer.
The explosion was too close, and even though Yuka was quick to dodge, she couldn’t escape the blast range.
Everyone on the battlefield was knocked backward by the explosion, and the mechas suffered significant damage, disrupting the rhythm of the battle. Yuka was the most severely injured one.
Her mecha lost almost half of its body to the explosion, its back charred, a large hole in the shoulder, and one mechanical leg blasted off.
Yuka’s head hit the cockpit ceiling during the tumble, forming a large bump. She winced in pain, touching her forehead. Thankfully, there was no blood, just some dizziness.
["Ahh, did Pinky get hurt?!"]
["Comparing these two, I now see how well Pinky and her friends can really work together. That mecha standing there doing nothing was just dead weight."]
["Pinky, please be okay!"]
["The Chosen One’s mecha is broken, they can’t continue fighting. Alliance Army, hurry and rescue them!"]
["Not necessarily, Pinky once repaired her mecha during the battle with ’Rabies’. Maybe she can do it again."]
["But this is real combat, The Chosen One must be seriously hurt."]
["Pinky, my heart aches for you, please come back safely!"]
Yonda also furrowed his brows, comforting himself with the barrage of supportive messages, saying, "The Alliance Army will arrive soon."
’So, Yuka, you must hang in there. You can’t let anything happen to you.’
Outside the map, the Alliance Army’s reinforcements had already arrived. They formed an impenetrable wall around the outskirts of the map, blocking the attack of the newly arrived space pirates.
Kenji finally managed to withdraw from the battlefield for a brief rest. His brain throbbed from releasing too much psychic power, and a subtle pain spread through his body. If he had pushed himself any further, he might have triggered a serious condition.
After a short break, Kenji pulled out his opticomputer, opened the live broadcast, and checked the situation inside the valley.
Students in the middle and outer parts of the map were being evacuated by the Alliance Army that had gone in for the rescue. But in the innermost part of the valley...
When Kenji recognized the number on the broken mecha, the string of reason in his mind snapped instantly.
He rushed into the valley.
