Rebirth: The Universe's Hidden Heiress-Chapter 162: [Parallel World] A Passionate Night (2)
Chapter 162: [Parallel World] A Passionate Night (2)
Note: The Parallel World series happened in a parallel universe; the plot and settings are completely unrelated to the previous story. This Yuka is still the famous "Vase."
The pain from his gland being thoroughly bitten made him furrow his brows, and Yuka’s soothing touch tensed his legs.
The rose-scented pheromone slowly infused into his gland, a mix of pain and pleasure robbing him of his judgment for a moment.
By the time Kenji came to his senses, Yuka had completed the lifelong mark and was watching him for any discomfort.
Kenji touched the bite mark on his gland, a lifelong mark that would accompany him forever, signaling to others that he was bonded.
"I don’t see a lifelong mark as a shackle," Kenji looked at Yuka. "It’s a connection, a protection."
Seeing Kenji with traces of their intimacy and speaking so seriously, Yuka suddenly felt a playful itch. She raised her hand to touch Kenji’s gland, and as expected, his face turned red again.
She smiled triumphantly, then leaned to his ear and teasingly asked, "Want to go again?"
After a few seconds, a low "Hmm" echoed in the bathroom.
...
Kenji’s biological clock was always precise. Despite staying up late last night, he woke up early.
Yuka was still asleep in his arms. Kenji gently brushed the hair from her face, watching her sleep with a tender gaze.
It took Yuka a few more hours to wake up. If Kenji hadn’t made noise closing the door when he went to get lunch, she would have slept much longer.
Sitting up in bed, she took the lunch Kenji handed her and ate while watching him get dressed. She couldn’t help but remark, "Admiral Kuba sure has a lot of energy."
It seemed she’d have to try harder in the future; other alphas could keep their betas in bed all day.
"Don’t call me Admiral Kuba," Kenji said as he adjusted Yuka’s hat. "Just use my name."
"Okay, Kenji," Yuka looked up at him. "When are we leaving? When will we see each other again?" freewebnøvel.com
"After you finish eating," Kenji replied. "We can meet anytime."
"But you can’t meet during missions, right?" Yuka questioned.
Kenji responded, "In a month, I’ll be appointed General Fleet Admiral. Except for wars that concern the whole Alliance, I won’t need to personally undertake missions."
Yuka nodded in understanding and watched Kenji send messages on his opticomputer. She also opened hers to message Hideki, Ayoi, and Alex, telling them she was now in a relationship.
Kenji’s subordinates, having received messages from their superior, quickly arrived at the hotel, internally puzzled about why their boss spent the night there. But it was a private matter, and they weren’t in a position to probe. They followed orders and arrived at the hotel, ready to escort Kenji back to the Alliance Army headquarters.
Following the room number Kenji had given, they knocked on the door. Yuka, who was putting on her shoes at the door, opened it.
The subordinates glanced at Yuka, then at the room number, falling into self-doubt. ’Isn’t this the room number Admiral Kuba gave? What is she doing here?’
While they were doubting, Kenji came over, coat in hand, and said, "What are you standing there for?"
The subordinates stared, dumbfounded, as Yuka walked past them, exuding a rose-scented pheromone.
They then looked at Yuka, who smiled at them, shocked by the revelation.
However, the next moment, they heard Kenji say something even more staggering, "This is Miss Taira Yuka. In the future, when she comes to headquarters, take her to my office. No need to stop her."

The subordinates glanced at Yuka, then at the room number, falling into self-doubt.
Was this the room number their boss gave? Why was this individual, with a perfect pheromone match with the boss, here?
While they were doubting, Kenji came over, coat in hand, and said, "What are you standing there for?"
The subordinates stared, dumbfounded, as their boss, exuding a rose-scented pheromone, walked past them. They then looked at Yuka, who smiled at them, shocked by the revelation.

The subordinates were astonished, wondering if they were hallucinating.
...
Sitting in the Lev, Yuka suddenly remembered something important.
Holding onto Kenji’s arm, she asked quietly, "Now that I’ve marked you for life, will your pheromone change?"
After a beta is marked for life by their alpha partner, their pheromone undergoes subtle changes. It acquires a hint of their alpha’s pheromone and becomes more resistant to others’, not being easily forced into a heat cycle by the overpowering presence of other alphas’ pheromones. Instead, they develop a dependence on their own partner’s pheromone.
"Will it affect Nori’s experiment?" Yuka asked, fidgeting nervously with her fingers.
Nori’s temper could be quite fearsome, and she worried he might throw them out of his lab if this affected his research.
Kenji pondered for a moment. After a brief silence, Yuka suggested, "Maybe we should go back and provide some more pheromones for his research, to check if there’s any change that could affect his experiment?"
Kenji nodded, and they redirected their course to the Alliance Science Academy, heading straight for Nori’s central lab.
Kenji’s subordinate was surprised at how close their superior seemed to be with the Science Academy but remained silent, waiting quietly outside.
Yuka entered the lab anxiously and stood in front of Nori.
Before she could speak, Nori noticed the mark on Kenji’s neck and immediately set down the test tube he was holding, glaring at Yuka. He instructed Kenji to sit down and release some pheromones for a new sample.
Two minutes later, Nori came out of the enclosed lab, holding a test tube, his expression stern.
"Kenji’s pheromone has indeed changed," he said to them. "But you two are lucky. This change is beneficial for my research. I’ve extracted a special substance from his pheromone, which I’m naming ’Oniyon.’"
"Oniyon has no scent but can shield its user from all other pheromone interference, maintaining clarity of mind. It also renders the user’s pheromone scentless, not affecting others."
Although Nori appeared calm, his trembling hands clutching the test tube betrayed his inner excitement and elation.
His speech quickened, "Based on this substance, I might be able to develop an injectable drug for the gland. This drug could render the gland completely inactive, freeing everyone from the control of pheromones..."
Yuka and Kenji exchanged a look, both seeing surprise in each other’s eyes. They also realized the profound impact such a drug, if developed, could have on the Alliance – a major upheaval.
Although ABO genders were equal in rights, most alphas still occupied higher positions in society, with betas often being dominated by them. It was rare for betas to exert control over alphas with their pheromones.
The prospect of a drug that could liberate betas from alpha dominance would undoubtedly cause an uproar, with many alphas likely opposing its existence.
Moreover, research showed that alphas and betas, though fewer in number, often possessed higher innate talents in terms of mental and physical abilities.
Hardworking omegas, unaffected by pheromones, were always an object of envy for betas.
