Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1753: Demons From Hell
-----
"What the hell is this?! Demons? Not the ones from Yggdrasil, but true demons from Hell!" Lucifer roared, shredding them with blazing claws. "Hmph. Weak!"
"We’ve grown so much stronger these last two weeks. We can handle this!" Alma declared, drowning dozens in torrents of water before freezing them solid.
"Don’t stop! Don’t let the demons spread their corruption! They’re infecting people with their bites, turning them into more of their kind!" Emeraldine warned, unleashing hundreds of spirit arrows from her aura and bow.
"Master! Things are getting nasty!" Partner grinned wickedly. "Is it okay if I drink everyone’s blood? RIGHT?!" She laughed maniacally, dancing across the battlefield. Her spear impaled foes relentlessly as she drank deeply. Demon blood only fueled her further, granting immunity to their possession.
"Come on, Celes! We have to end this fast!" Nyx urged.
"Yeah, Nyx!" Celes nodded fiercely.
Bonded deeply over recent weeks, their powers began to fuse. Nyx’s phantoms merged with Celes’s ocean spirit water, forming colossal dragons that surged through demon ranks.
"Hmm. Deliciously spicy."
Arachne ravaged the horde in her titanic spider form. Their attacks couldn’t pierce her impenetrable black exoskeleton. Sharp mandibles and claws tore through their numbers. Magical webs trapped dozens for swift, merciless consumption.
"Keep throwing seals at their heads, Melianna. It’s working!"
"And make sure your fox obeys this time, big bro!"
Ferleen and Melianna fought in perfect sync. After gaining Dream Hearts and training intensively with Maria’s sect, their strength had soared. Melianna’s paper seals, crafted with her brush-like Dream Weapon, exploded in bursts of holy light, purifying demons and weakening them while siphoning power to empower Ferleen’s fox spirit. It grew into a massive nine-tailed demonic beast, trampling enemies and sect foes alike.
"YOUUUU!"
The Thousand Poison Master, now vessel for an Archdemon, roared with newfound arrogance. He charged Maria, claws slaughtering anything in his path—even disciples who believed he protected them.
"Stop that already!!!" Lin Ming screamed, rushing recklessly toward his former master. The demon glared, eyes glowing crimson.
"Don’t get in my way, Lin Ming!" it bellowed. Red light engulfed Lin Ming, paralyzing him instantly.
"Ngh?! Aaaaack!" Lin Ming screamed as the light electrocuted his body.
This was the master’s new gift: True Demon Eyes of Soul Paralysis, capable of freezing a soul with a gaze and torturing it endlessly.
"You’ll make a fine snack before I kill her!" the demon laughed, giant claws descending toward Lin Ming.
"No! Senior!" Terion cried, tears streaming down his face in horror.
Terror gripped him. He didn’t want to face the monster his father had become, yet he had no choice.
"Father! Please stop!"
His aura erupted. Blood Energy fused with his Martial Soul, manifesting as a giant crimson jellyfish with venomous tentacles. They pierced his father’s tendrils, forcing a groan of pain.
"AAACK! W-What is that thing?! You finally awakened a damn Martial Soul, you useless son?!" the possessed master roared, now towering ten meters tall. "Well, that’ll make you an even better vessel for my demon souls! Accept them!"
"Noooo!" Terion screamed. His Martial Soul expanded, growing twice his father’s size. The translucent crimson jellyfish pierced deeper, paralyzing the demon briefly and allowing Terion to reach Lin Ming.
Yet dozens of demons swarmed, laughing as they assaulted the boy—kicking his face, punching his stomach, slashing off an arm with razor claws.
"Aaaaaggh!"
"No...! TERION!!!"
Lin Ming screamed helplessly, struggling against the Demonic Eyes’ power in vain.
Until...
FLAAASH!
Three radiant beams of pure holy light struck the demons and their leader. Explosions of golden flames followed.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"J-Jonathan?!" Lin Ming cried, staring at the proud knight in gleaming golden armor, wielding great sword and shield.
"Lin Ming! We meet again, my friend," Jonathan smiled warmly. "I always believed in you."
"You’re really here..." Lin Ming sobbed, tears flowing as his hero arrived to save him. "Please save Terion!"
"He’s fine," another voice answered. Arthur appeared, aura overflowing with dozens of fused Cultivation Methods and Martial Arts, astonishing everyone. He carried the boy safely in one arm, wounds already healed. "There you go, kid. Don’t rush into danger like that."
"A-Ah...! Who are you people?!" Terion gasped, floating near his senior.
"What else? We are heroes," Jonathan declared, turning to the giant demon. "And we slay evil."
"What he said," Arthur nodded. "Ah, my sister’s here too—yeah, there she is."
RUMBLE!
"UNGH?!"
The Thousand Poison Master screamed, vomiting blood. Maria materialized before him, legs buried in his stomach. His jaws expelled dozens of devoured souls, which instantly joined her ghostly aura willingly.
Maria wasn’t a tyrant to souls. She was their savior, protector, and healer. Any soul in despair sought her for refuge... and the strength to strike back.
"Did you truly grow stronger? To me, you feel just as frail as before."
Maria exploded into lightning via Ghostly Lightning Dragonfly Step, reappearing behind him.
His demonic eyes widened. He reached for her, only for his arms to drop from his torso.
"H-Huh?!"
{Spectral Ghostly Fist Art: Ninth Form – Dream-Chasing Star Blade}!
"Ngaaah?! N-Not again!"
The Thousand Poison Master screamed in horror as his body collapsed, sliced into thousands of tiny flesh cubes.
He couldn’t even touch her as he fell apart...
Maria gazed down with glowing crimson eyes.
"Pathetic."
His severed eyes widened in terror as they plummeted.
Then...
BA-DUM!
His Demonic Heart pulsed once more.
All the scattered flesh reassembled, fusing around the heart.
FLUOSH!
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING PATHETIC?!"
He charged Maria. Demonic Poison surged from every orifice, forming hundreds of Poisonous Demons that attacked from all sides.
Frustrated by her taunts, the Thousand Poison Master roared, rushing toward Maria as fast as possible. Demonic Poison erupted from his body, spawning hundreds of beasts that assaulted her relentlessly.
All while his eyes paralyzed her, locking her in place so his creations could finish the job.
"Hmm. Delicious."
Yet in less than ten seconds, Maria stepped free. The Demonic Poison Beasts screamed as her ghostly form devoured them one by one until none remained.
"Unfortunately for you, I am poison itself."
"...What?"
